I use water colour pencils and stamp with stazon on watercolour paper or my most recent purchase has been Promarkers ( all thanks to Caz :lol: )and they are amazing but you have to watch which paper you stamp onto as they can bleed.

Loving you cards Hazel & Nat.

I made one with that snowman from BG last week too but I forgot to take a pic before I sold it on Friday.:(

Nat - really like these. Love the bright colours

Nat, love the way you've created the pressies, can I copy??!!!
Gwyneth - I've cut some shapes from the cricut, and have tried working out how to creat word-shape cards - eg NOEL and JOY. I need some more time to practice and try cutting them at bigger sizes, but KI think I may be heading in the right direction! I've a day off tomorrow so might have some time then to experiment.

hazgizz
27-11-2008, 11:13 AM
Nat on your 'peace' card is that the CB embossing folder? How did you make it blingy?

Mystik Nat
27-11-2008, 01:03 PM
Sure you can Mole - I seem to always do a few cards like this each year as scraps left over from others are great for making pressies! :D

Hazel, it's not blingy, it's just single-sided "cardstock" - like thick patterned paper - in the embossing folder and I've just sanded it back, works really well on that gingerbread coloured sheet. :) Also a nice way of using up bigger scraps! If you have any cardstock with a white core like DCWV I am sure you'd get the same result. :D

hazgizz
27-11-2008, 01:04 PM
I was thinking of using it to make my gift tags for pressys. Maybe using a scalloped punch and then the folder - never tried sanding cardstock before! Is it just ordinary bazzill

dozyrosy
27-11-2008, 01:16 PM

If you look in my gallery I have a concertina type NOEL word I made on my Craft Robo - it's just letters welded together and cut from an A4 sheet of card. If you can't cut that big on the cricut, try cutting each letter separately with a little hinge added so that you can glue them together. It's worth looking too at some of our CR designs as there are some nice examples of welded words and numbers in our templates and galleries that might help with ideas.

HTH, Rosemary

Mystik Nat
27-11-2008, 01:23 PM
Nope it's not Bazzill, this is old KI Memories single-sided "cardstock" - you need a cardstock that has a white core so DCWV would fit that bill.

Otherwise try it with thick paper like BG, Crate or American Crafts - AC's double-sided sheets are rather thick and you could use the plain side rather than the patterned one. :)

After admiring all the gorgeous card on here I thought I'd better get cracking on mine this year! These are a few of the ones I made for my mum in law this week:

Used pink petticoat papers, some embellishments out of a very old Christmas kit, nestabilities, cookie cutters and DCWV ribbon:

Wasn't sure where to put this, it's a Christmas theme thank you card. For the lady at work who organised our Secret Santa today, she's only been there a few months and she organised us rabble, brought in food and drink, sorted out a room, a Santa and all the other bits. We had a great time! She didnt even participate herself as she said it wouldnt have been fair for her to do so! So, I made her this card and a few of us are going to buy her some chocs and smellies.
Anyway, I used last years blonde moments papers (might have even been the years before?!) and some doodlebug and Mm stickers.
it's quite 'thick' with lots of layers and brads, hence the rubbish scan :)

Great cards everyone, have had a couple of days off so have been thinking about this year's cards and trying to decide what I fancy doing.

Thank you for your comments that is my first ciruclar card. I didn't use a cricut I used the large circular scolloped nestabilities. I have put Storybook cartridge on my christmas list as I am hoping to make more scolloped/shaped cards. I hope I have chosed the right cartridge.

In the Cupboard this morning is a card made using the Create a Flake die from the Spellbinder's Shapeabilitie range. On a grey day this is a bright cheerful card to add to my Christmas stash of cards. Fairly quick to make, but classic. Pop over - see what you think. ikki

If the receiver unties the bow the gift card will be free. It is secure with ribbon on the background paper.

Feline I love your Christmas tree tag card. I used that stamp to make silver embossed tags for some of my presents last year, and I think my sister liked hers better than her actual present!

Love everyones cards, I was asked to make some A4 ones this year along with the more normal sized comissions so thought I'd share:
The first was a traditional one, in a gold window box:

http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/data/501/thumbs/trad_card.jpg (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=204796)

The second a lilac pearlised card with an acetate wrap in a silver window box

It was nice to be working in a totally different size as it got me out of a rut!

Well, this could very well be my last Christmas card for a while - the Christmas stash will need to go away soon... but I may make a few more during the year to start filling up my card box in advance!
