Hi everyone,

I have been looking at tear bears on the internet and would like to try them out but I'm having trouble finding the fluffing and grooming brushes.
Does anyone know where I could get them? Has anyone on here tried making tear bears? Any tips would be appreciated!
I did find one website that sold the thick mulberry paper and all the brushes, eyes, noses etc but they are not trading at the moment due to a family illness...If anyone knows where I could get any of the above please let me know as I really want to have a go at making them!

Thanks

Suzanne

I made a tear bear here! (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=151502&ppuser=14394&sl=p) I just used a colouring book design and broke into sections by tracing it, I think I did body, arms, legs, head, nose, ears, pads and ear insides all seperately and then layered them up (was a while ago)! I used an old toothbrush to fluff him and felt tips for the eyes and nose, and an ordinary paintbrush to outline him in water before tearing him. Didnt realise you could actually buy tools for the job!

Here is a youtube video on the topic:

Cute mini-album with one page (http://rebeccaholliday.blogspot.com/2008/01/fairy-tale-album.html) that has a cute application for a tear bear

Lots of places sell the basic mulberry paper which yo can use, and you can use a plain paintbrust (fine tip) dipped in water for the tearing - not sure about the "fluffing and grooming" but I would imagine you can make use of lots of things you already have to accomplish this - what about some makeup brushes, like the eyelash seperator and brown comb/brush combo? That should work to comb and fluf the paper.

:thanks: for the great info everyone!
I had already seen that video on youtube MaryAnne, never thought of using a toothbrush to fluff them up though Phoenix Tears!!
Guess I will give it a go without spending money on tools and see what I come up with!
