Hi Guys
I've only done this once in a class, and I don't have an embossing gun. I've bought a pack but haven't used it yet.
My questions are:
Is it feasible to shrink it in the oven?
Can you use your ink jet printer to print onto the plastic and if so which side should I print on?
How much 'edge' should you allow round your design (I suppose what I'm really asking is how much does it shrink, 50% etc?)
Ta in advance

Yes you can shrink it in an oven, you print onto the rough side and leave about 0.3cm round the edge, they shrink x7 the size HTH

When you print make sure you select draft mode, otherwise it will be all blured.
Also, I've done it im my oven too and did it at 150C. it will curl before going flat again.
It doesn't hurt being ready to stop it curling too much using wooden spoons

my kids love watching it shrink in the oven- I think you have to put it on some foil.

I hate watching it shrink- always feel as if I'm torturing it and it's writhing in agony!

You should do it when you're feeling sadistic or peevish then, and get the satisfaction of not only torturing it but giving it an almighty splat at the end to flatten it out again, too! My sister used to punch all her anger out of the dough when she was breadmaking.
I've seen suggestions about making a shrink plastic ruler so that you can get an idea of the proportion of shrinkage. But I think you might have to make them for different brands as I believe they may shrink to different percentages.

Yes my friend makes rulers to use with hers- you need to make one for lengthwise and one for widthwise as they don't all shrink evenly
