At last managed to do something I'm really pleased with. They were done on thick card, pink tip, 27, two cuts. Used flakey font for snowflake.Be careful on lifting shorter spokes of snowflake as delicate. Have done this in DM as well, but still for the life of me cannot change the file to Gsd via screenshot, still get the whole page not just the item, even though I select it:(. Hope someone can use them. Hugs Iris xx

This is my first time sharing. Thought I might as well try since I've snagged a few of the files here. This is a file I created and am planning on using it for gift tags this year. Hope someone can find it useful.

O.K. I know everyone has probably finished their Christmas cards for this year but this might do for next year!

I was doodling in designmaster last night (as you do!) and came up with this Christmas bauble created by using the fan tool. I was quite pleased with the end result and put it through the Xyron, put some gold glitter on it and made a quick card. The Merry Christmas banner is also done in DM. I have put the tips on bow tying kindly provided by Pam into practice and am delighted with the result. I've converted the file to GSD and hope it has converted OK.
Pam (YorkieMom) if you see this check out that bow!!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi All,

Following the copyright situation, when I, along with many others, removed our templates. It seems that when I re-uploaded the bauble template again, I uploaded the wrong one.

A couple of people have contacted me asking for the correct ones, so here they are. Maybe Lucille could put the template with the correct picture in the Xmas/Bauble section.

I have included the photo as well, to make identification easier.

Thanks

Made with V5.10 and converted
Made this quickly to replace the original picture as I used silver mirricard and it's hard to get a clear pic because of the reflection.
Add ribbon or cord (to hang it up) before glueing the last piece
Replaced with a two tone picture so it is easier to see.

Maybe a little late for christmas!
You need to cut two parts of the same pattern but in different colour to make these. I found out that thinner paper is the best to use for this. To make the hearts in the picture I used 120g paper. When I tried thicker paper it was to hard to weave them together. They are quite easier to weave if making them bigger than i did. Look on goggle "woven heart" for instructions on how to weave them together if you dont manage it yourself.

Finally I decided to start the month with the "C" word. That's right Christmas.

So to ensure you have plenty of time to prepare, here is the Challenge.

DESIGN A BAUBLE. Do whatever shape or style you want, use scenes within the shape, patterns, lattice or even words. Great for cards and scrapbooking.

I've managed to find time to do a couple as examples, a bit basic so I am sure you will do better.

Happy designing and I look forward to seeing the creations.

Here we go - my very basic contribution.

At the moment it's just a screenshot and .GRA I'll try and convert it to .GSD later. For some reason whenever I do it it comes out very jaggedy.

Hope someone likes them.

Lucy

Update - I've downloaded CutePDF and Inkscape and followed CarolUK's tutorial for converting from .GRA to .GSD. Hope it works for anyone who wants it.

Ok go easy on me, this is my first ever design. In Texas we call these Christmas ornaments. Glass ornaments are almost always round and shiney. I used shiney paper for the cut out part.Cats love these on Christmas trees so we dont keep them very long. The ornaments that is. Cat people you know what I mean.

I don't normally get time to do the challenges but I thought today hey, Asda's open 24 hours :D Should have really been doing the shopping
Mine was created in Coreldraw12 and I've converted to .dxf then to .gsd but when it loaded into RM it was upside down and my rotate buttons are greyed out so I can't rotate it, won't make any difference in cutting I wouldn't have thought. Only a screen shot for now as I'll cut it when I get back from shopping

Sorry to anyone who downloaded the original bauble I realised when I was laying in bed last night that it wouldn't cut properly so I've reworked it and uploaded this one

Thank you to the contributors for all the wonderful files uploaded so far, there have been so many great ideas, and thank you to Erika too, for setting such an inspiring challenge. :thanks:

My bauble design is a line art template, to be drawn in gel pen first, before sending it to cut. I decorated the card with glitter glue and a length of ribbon threaded through the slots cut either side of the bauble's hanging loop.

Hope someone might find this useful.:D

Erika,
I loved this challenge. It really got those Christmas design juices flowing.
I kept seeing Christmas posts and thinking I couldn't even imagine what
to start with. Then I started seeing the baubles and began to imagine how
I would decorate each one. No matter how simple the design, they can
be decorated in so many different ways!!!

I think the November challenge should be to cut out all the beautiful
ornaments, decorate a tree with them and then we could post pictures of
how beautiful the trees look!!!!!

Here is my contribution.

Did this one this afternoon, I don't know the weight of the holographic card, the green one is a thinnish fooil card. The wrappers for the cards have long gone.

I've been fiddling with this design for awhile but wasn't sure what to do with it - Then I got into designing an ornament for the challenge and thought this would make a nice one too!

It could also be used for a topper on a card too!

The cardinal is layered but I colored the pine needles and cones with a marker.

Thanks to everyone who have posted templates so far & to Erika for setting the challenge, they will be so useful:thanks:.

The words (& the hanging loop) on my bauble were made using a Larabie Font called Minya Nouvelle.

More fabulous templates since I last looked - thanks to all, they are lovely.

At last I have managed a contribution to the challenge. Very simply done using the star, polygon and fan tools in DM. Font is Fontleroy Brown. I used the pen option to write Xmas, then managed to smudge it, so went over it with a quickie glue pen and glittered it!

These were designed as squares in Inkscape then warped into circle shapes to (hopefully ) give the illusion of depth. The GSD's were hand traced in RM 2.4 for a faster cut.

They test cut well from 180 gsm card. Hope they are useful.

Hi everyone,

Yes, I am back to play now that autumn has arrived and I have more free time.

I thought I would have a try at the challenge, this is my effort.
I made this bell in the spring for a wedding card so adapted it to use for Christmas after much head scratching on opening designmaster, I have forgotten sooooooo much  I even needed to download my own tut on converting from GRA to GSD !!!!:lol:

So, as I have forgotten what size files I am allowed to upload I have zipped the file, there are a couple of options to try and I included extra text for layering, have fun.

I have been playing again :D

Another bauble for you to try. I have cut the actual bauble and it's top but not the star centres as yet so I hope they work ok.

Resize them as needed, the centres I kept separate so they can be cut in another colour and layered.
