Is anyone going to Stitch & Creative Crafts at Manchester Central. It's on 29th - 31st August. I'm still debating whether to go or not. There are a couple of decent exhibitors looking at the list but also a lot of tat!

This one seems to be bigger than the Liverpool one earlier this year where I did spend a bit but not as much as I thought I would.

Well I'm definately going, have booked tickets on the Friday for me and my MIL. Will be getting there for when it opens as at the Liverpool one the early part of the day was much more pleasent, less pushing and shoving!

Hoping to stock up on some cardstock (fingers crossed) and will be keeping my eyes out for other bits like PP, journalling spots etc that take my fancy. I've got a budget though and will be taking cash and no card to make sure I stick to it!

it wasn't easy. I googled scc Manchester and eventually found it. Any ideas where to look for the discount on entry vouchers. I've seen people at the ticket booth with vouchers fron a newspaper getting a dissount but never managed to find out which paper or when it's out. Any clues?

I'll PM you the discount code now, I found it in a magazine. When you book tickets online it works and they email you the tickets straight away. :)

I only know a couple of the exhibitors, some from the liverpool show that were stands I liked and some are local craft shops like Windmill Crafts and Card Craft Plus.

The website is...

http://www.stitchandcreativecrafts.co.uk/tickets_stitch.asp

If you go to the more info section for the Manchester one the exhibitor list is on there and that's where you can book tickets online too. I'll PM you both now.

For anyone who is driving there is a VERY useful map on the Manchester Central website that I've printed out and it says to get to the parking at the venue itself you need to set your Sat Nav to the postcode M2 3GX.

Have printed out the map though as it shows all the local parking just incase I can't get in the one at the venue and panic! It says there's 720 spaces though so should be plenty as I want to get there before it opens. :)

I'll be there Friday as well - though to help out a friend on her kiddies book stall (the one with the balloon and the duck!) so going back again on Saturday with my Mum for a mooch around. Also ropesd into helping pack away on the sunday afetr the show has finished - wonder if they'll be anyone wanting some left over stock/stash taking poff thier hands for a smile and a thank you!?!

For those debating whether to go, I always enjoy it - there's a stall you should LOVE called mei flower and its worth it for that alone. Theres usually a stall with masses of doodlebug pp and you often see plenty of papermania, dovecraft etc. There's a few good ribbon stalls that also sell fancy buttons and the last few times (well I am a regular as I only live 15 mins away!!) there's been a guy selling leather handbags that are really nice. Oh, and don't forget Lili's fairies - I've never seen these in a shop so convince myself that what I pay for an entrance ticket is cancelled out by the P+P I save.

Ooh, didn't realise I'd got so excited - better raid my piggy bank!!!!!

See you there!!!!

Hi

I had a code to enter for tickets online which gave you a discount on tickets and free goodie bag. But I can't find it anywhere:(
I would be very grateful if someone could let me have the code again

Thank you

Gill

I can't PM you yet Gill, you need to make another post and then I can. :)

My code doesn't get you a free goodie bag though, just the cheaper tickets and you can purchase a half price show guide as well if you wanted to.

I've just realised this is a different show to the one in liverpool. That was Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts and this is Stitch and Creative Crafts LOL.

Hhmmm, we'll see if I buy anything. I've buttons and ribbons coming out of my ears and I'm no fan of dovecraft and papermania. Ah well, my MIL will enjoy it and buy loads even if I don't buy much as she's new to crafting. I'm sure it'll be a good day out.

Just means I'll have more to spend on the new October Afternoon, Sassafras and Pink Paislie collections LOL!

looked for you Emma but couldn't see you. Saw someone who looked like you with an older blond lady but couldn't be sure if it was you or not. Well after not knowing whether to go or not I spent the whole day there. I wouldn't mind I didn't buy much but just kept going round and round incase I missed something. Did get a threading water punch tho' so am very pleased with that. And some clear stamps for X-mas which considering I don't actually make Xmas cards is a bit stupid but I couldn't resist.Oh and did you see that gorgeous paper stand Inspire me? Lovely stuff there.

Haha that was me! I was with my MIL Yvonne who is blonde. I had my hair tied back and a bright pink top with a white cropped cardie and jeans. I didn't see anyone I recognised from here although I did look.

I missed the threading water punch! What stall was that on?

I didn't get too much. Got a good idea book though, the We Dare You one. Have dithered over this for ages and when I saw it and could flick through it I had to have it, LOADS of inspiration for me personally but I don't think it would be everyone's style. Also bought some other bits, some Primas, a couple of stamps including one I've been after for ages "Seize The Cupcake" by Heroarts. And some other little bits like some fat quarters and some beautiful lace.

Oh and that Inspire Me paper was gorgeous. We got some in the green with black damask velvet flock, two sheets and I'm going to use them to cover some albums. They are the perfect size for covering 8x8 albums inside and out!

Was hoping to get papers and cardstock but there was very little IMHO. But because I didn't spend too much I can now order the new October Afternoon, Sassafras and BG ranges online guilt freee!

And I definately agree it was quieter in the afternoon, at one point about mid day it was complete chaos, you could hardly move but it seemed to quieten down later on.

if it was you we were both looking at some stamps and one of you said " oh look at the mouses big tummy' to which I replied (making sure DH is not around) 'looks like my hubby'.Was it you? the punch was on the first stall on the right as you come in called OY..ER-not a sponsor so can't mention but I think you know who I mean. I headed straight for them as I figured if anyone there would have it it would be them. they only had three tho so I was lucky.I got the green and black paper too. Scrummy and really pleasant people too.

Oohhh I know which stall you mean. I didn't see any there so I'm guessing they must have sold out by the time we got round to that one. Oh well!

Well I have no memory of that happening so I'm guessing it wasn't me then!

I've not been to the G-mex Craft Show for a couple of years as I thought it was pants in comparison to the one at the Rebok - but I was dragged along today by my friend who is a cross stitcher and i was very pleasantly surprised (although I still think no where near as good as Rebok and the entrance fee is rather steep). I agree not much on the paper line :( but I also got some of the Inspire Me range of papers (soooo lush :)) I did ask at that particular stall for the threading water punch and he did sell out early yesterday :( I also got a couple of packets of acrylic stamps, the K & Co Pepermint Twist Christmas stack and a few other bits and bobs - but as I wasn't expecting to buy anything I was happy with my little spree. I did get a flyer in one of my bags which says that there are 2 further craft showsthis year at the Rebok before Christmas!!! One is October 19th and the other is December 7th (Have only known Rebok to stage 1 craft show a year and thats in May??) also Lowry Outlet advertised for 21st to 23rd Nov. So if anyone has any further news - please share :)

I got that flyer too, I bought some Love Elsie bits cheap from that stall. There was no further information other than the date and location. I guess it's a case of googling it to try and find out more!

As you walked through the doors it was on the very far right hand side. They had big trays of embellishments. Mostly tat IMO but there was some good MM Passport and Love Elsie embellies mixed in with the others and they were very cheap!
