Bristol Scrappers September 2008 crop

[Scrapping Parrot]

Bristol Scrappers will be meeting at Backwell Parish Hall on Saturday 6th September 2008 for their September crop. We are there from 10.00 till 4.00, all welcome, just come and chat and craft, kettles always on ! See you there!

This month Carroll is doing a class, it will be a BYO class which means she will tell us what we need to bring ( if she has remembered she is doing it ^_^ ) and we then get something we like and will use. I 'll leave her to fill us all in!

Hi girls, just getting ready to go away for the weekend. Of to Emelyns tonight and then driving to Ipswich tomorrow so caitlin can meet her Great grandad.

You will need 3 sheets of 12x12 cardstock, 2xa colour and 1x contrast colour.

Don't forget i will be leaving early this month so will do the class in the morning.

Oh nearly forgot, you will also need some ribbon to tie your book :)

Liska Emailed me to say we have permission to donate any cards we make next month to St Peters Hospice, which is great news, so we can chat about that on the 6th.

Can anyone tell me the name of the website that you can put your phone number on to stop cold calling? I know we were chatting about it a couple of crops ago and I can't remember what it was called. Thanks.

Got back about midnight last night, knackered but it was worth it. Caitlin was a star, no problems travelling at all. we only had to stop the once for the usual nappy change and feed. Lews dad and mumf ell in love with her. got my photos so i was happy:)

Oh Emma what fantastic news, congratulations ! Your venue looks beautiful too. Don't worry about it too much, it will all be fine. I think its the best way to do it, this way you just have to get it organised and enjoy it without having a year or so to worry about it :) We bought our wedding date forward by 6 months after telling our parents they had a year, so we could get married a year to the day we got engaged, in the end we got it all sorted in a week ! Everything went to plan, even if it was a huge embarrassment going to the airport in a wedding dress, that's where we had our reception ! Did fly anywhere after though !!

looks beautiiful emm - well done it will be fab! well im knackered after doing a weeks volunteer work in wolverhampton for the nat deaf childrens soc..was so tired this weekend as it was full on! back home after spending last weekend before in wolvs at hotel then this last weekend at mum in laws. glad to be home! just seen our reading list for next term..yikes!!!
still waiting to hear form hobbycraft..neil manager called me before i left for wolvs and seemed intersted so was hoping to hear when i got back this week about an interview but i gather hes now off sick...bum!!! so still waiting!! grrrrr

Hi :) I won't be able to come this month. Chris and I are supposed to be going to Stratford to see David Tennant and Patrick Stewart in Hamlet. We bought the tickets last October! It's a bit up in the air if we can actually go though, due to a number of reasons. Fingers crossed we'll go :)

Just been speaking to Mum and Barrow Gurney ( the place you turn off of the A38 to get through to the end of the Long Ashton By pass ) is closed this week for re-surfacing and no one seems to know when it will be finished so it still could be closed on Saturday. It's a long way round to have to double back, as Boo, Carroll and myself know !!

The book will measure approx 6x6. you can fit about 7 pics up tp that size and numerous smaller ones in the flaps.

I am chuffed this month as the Silver moon ATC I made for a lottery in the Google group I belong to has been chosen to be the art on our home page for this month, they choose a piece they feel is the best in the month so I was shocked and surprised to see mine their on the front page !! Carroll, I can pack the cardstock and ribbon and hopefully do your class.

So that's 3 sheets of 12x12 cardstock ...... 2 in the same colour and 1 in a contrasting shade ... is that right?

Plus, some ribbon .... is that narrow ribbon Carroll?

Can I use patterned cardstock or does it have to be plain?

Well, definitely won't be coming on Saturday :( My Mum and Dad are using our Hamlet tickets as I am just too poorly.

Yes, Buxton baby 3 is due next March :wub: (The lengths people will go to to get out of putting away the tables and chairs at a crop!!). I'm really sick again - worse than before. The doctor's given me some pills but I'm not convinced yet as they are antihistamine based and I felt so sleepy after I'd taken one. We'll see how it goes.

hi girls, sorry i had to leave early yesterday. Not a bad journey to get caitlin. She did have a bit of a paddy when she woke up in a strange car but managed to get her settled quickly.

Been up since 6.45am, god not used to being up that early at the weekend LOL. It was made worthwhile waking up to a little smiling face :)

well we had some bad news on sunday night we were burgled..:blink:they only managed to get away with two empty camera and camcorder bags which they obviously thought were full! They forced the inner door after we left the double glazed back door open after a hectic day with 3 kids here. It was scary as we nearly caught them plus we didnt realize theyd got anything til yesterday! just had to give my fingerprints and palm cos they fingerprinted the kitchen and doors!! feel like a crim myself now:huh::(
still they could have attacked us or worse so its a lot better than it could have been eh?
anyway...need to go wait for the police to come to make a statement now and then its tooth filling later ..yuk!!:wacko:

Oh Emma , my god poor you, I know how you feel, we were burgled about a 3 months after we got married, its a terrible feeling but I am glad you didn't come across them in the house and you are all safe. So pleased Amelia likes her box I hope she enjoys it and it keeps her away from your stuff, you can craft together now ! :lol:

i felt more upset about the tape of amelia at nannys that was in the camcorder bag and what they might do with it i.e put it on some awful porno site? but police said its unlikely that they even look at it as they would throw the bags away once they realised there was nothing of value in them.

still ironing and shopping for holiday next week - am sooo excited we are off to spain for a week - cant wait folks - so need the break before back to the slog of my 2nd year!

Sorry Emm, I'm having one of those weeks, fight with the sewing machine, the machine won, fell down the top 3 stairs because I forgot my ankle doesn't work, very painful physio session and have horrible exercises that are making my ankle more painful than its been since surgery, to try and get it working and now the printer has stopped working and won't start till we lug it up the hill on 2 buses and then a 10 min walk in a doggy part of Bristol to the shop to get it serviced for the 2nd time in about 3 years :angry: Can I come on your holiday with you :) Sound great have a great time.

Have done the thread for October, thought I'd better before something else happens, I'm not saying what in case it dose :wacko:
