Here's your chance to share your new card projects with fellow card addicts in a low-stress, no-fuss way!

This thread serves as an ongoing place to post your latest cards as and when you make them so you can share with the class and we can all comment back!

It'd still be great if you could add your cards to the relevant categories, but we understand that not everyone has the time or inclination to do this. :)

If you upload your cards to the UKS gallery, then remember there is a handy box that contains the source path for your image, and you can insert this code between img tags here in this thread. It just makes it easier for folks to get a quick fix when they can see the images, rather than click through links to see it - same applies for links to blogs.

For general tips on sharing images, check out this post (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=227197).

So to get the ball rolling, technically the last card I made was this one:

http://koolkittymusings.typepad.com/photos/card_a_day_2008/cad_147_may_27_2008.jpg

Hopefully when I get back from my hols I'll be back to making cards regularly again! ;)

Gorgeous - made some cards this week.

How do you get your pics so big - mine always come out tiny.

jo.bee
01-08-2008, 11:45 AM
Ignore me - I'm trying to work it out!! My pics are on my blog so am trying to post the pics from there.

When I upload them to my blog I upload images that are usually 600x450 pixels, so I just get the path for where the image is on my blog and use the image tags. :) If you have any problems Jo, give us a shout and point us to where the image you're trying to share is, and we'll see if we can see why they're coming out tiny!

Have only got scraps of the kit left.

Not been making cards for long but due to us just buying our first house my kit subs have to stop - so will need to get my thinking cap on and use up stash that I already have.

After realising I am a collector of stash instead of the crafter I used to be, I pulled my finger out today and made a few cards for the weekend! So here they are:
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n38/biscuitlid/cards/birthdaycardbluespinner.jpg

This spinner idea was stolen with pride from a friend who made me something similar for our sons naming day. I used nestabilities, cuttlebug emboss folder and plasma plastic stuff I found at the NEC last year.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n38/biscuitlid/cards/nestiescircles30thblue.jpg

This one is for my DH 30th on Sunday, used nestabilities again, a free stamp from a magazine and co-ordinating papers and shapes are stuck on the inside of the card.

ooh I'm out of the closet with my cards at last!

Hi

Loved your cards using nestabilities. I have some but hadn't thought of using them to cut aperture cards - call me thick if you like - Must go and have a try - thanks for the great idea.

Lovely cards everyone! Biscuitlid, I have that round Happy Birthday stamp too - I love it!

Here's a card (or tag minibook) that I made for the son of a UKS member. Looks pretty boring, but there are more pictures in the gallery if you click on it.

actually this is a combo storage solution because I can use it for my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders also. Here is a photo:

http://www.pbase.com/snap2it/image/101780407/large.jpg

For the tabs I used a free GSD file (for digital cutters) by "Julie-Ann" here at the UK Scrappers site....here is a link to her file (scroll down to #5 "Page Tabs"): http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=178367&highlight=tabs After I converted her file to a WPC (so that I could cut the tabs with my Pazzles Inspiration), I altered it by cutting off each end to make it fit my purpose. I also resized them to about 1.5" and I used my PaperMate Eraser Pen to write the information on each tab then covered it with gold embossing powder and used my heat gun. For those of you that don't own a digital cutter you could use file folder tabs, etc. The storage "plate" is a piece of chipboard that I cut 4.25"x5" and then I cut a piece of magnetic paper to 1.5"x5" to adhere down the middle of each piece of chipboard so my Nesties stick to it. The box I used is an old box I used to use in my home office for filing check copies. The box orginally had an "acordian' insert that I removed. The box measures 4.5"x10" and is 5" tall. There is also a lid that has a 1.5" lip so even tho my CB embossing folders are taller than the box the lid still covers everything to keep off the dust! If you wanted to make it "pretty", you could cover each piece of chipboard with designer papers.....I just went for "practical storage"! Right now I have 22 embossing folders and 8 sets of Nesties and I have a box of old alphabet stamps separating the two until I have enough to fill it up.....so I have plenty of room for adding more of each!

I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge #143 - Hotel Fox at Splitcoast Stampers and I used Room #404 Wa (which is Japanese for Japanese) as my inspiration...here is a photo of it:

http://www.pbase.com/snap2it/image/102401852.jpg

I really did not have any designer paper on hand for this....so I went into Photoshop CS3 and designed my own red background paper using brushes! After I printed the paper using my Epson Inkjet, I sprayed it with DecoArt Triple Thick Gloss Glaze, which to me made it look more Japanese. I spent a couple of years in Japan as a child and I still remember the beauty of it. I used my Cuttlebug and the "Birds & Swirls" embossing folder to emboss the gold frame that I designed and cut using my Pazzles and it's software...it kind of gave it a bamboo look! I used some "Kings's Gold" Wausau Metallic Paper to make the frame. This challenge was really a lot of fun.....I think the challenges are causing me to be more creative! For those of you that love to make cards and have not yet registered at Splitcoast Stampers.............you really should. Here is a link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/

They're actually cuttlekids - I've also got a hippo and a zebra, they're really sweet aren't they!

Thanks girls.I bought a water brush and touch the " lead " of the pencils with it, a friend of mine told me that. This is only the 3rd thing I've coloured with them, I will keep on practising :) The cards on here are so beautifully done that I want to do them like that !!!!

I printed the "To My" and "On Your birthday" directly onto the card from my PC and "wife" has been cut out with one of my sizzix alphas (at work at the mo and can't remember the name!) and stuck on the front.

The hearts are an x-cut punch

45 x 30 centimeters. It's enormous :lol:It's partly recycled. The seasons greetings is from a card last year and I have cut a gold mat on robo for it. The corners and the name are made into chipboard (my thing of the moment). The red ribbon is left over from making the bridesmaid dresses and the gold bow is parcel ribbon. The holly at the bottom cut on robo. Oh and I had the card given to me  SEASONS GREETINGS (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=176544&cat=500)

Caz, the paper is an old My Mind's Eye one from the Wild asparagus 3 collection - Love.

It's not easy to see from the photo but it's on a very pale blue background. The flowers are burgundy and pale pink. There is a better photo on the My Mind's Eye site (http://www.mymindseye.com/wildasparagus.asp#image) but can't do a direct link to it - click on "love" at the bottom:D

Yep, it's the Nestabilities Labels 1 die set, but I have seen a similar style of die that I think is exclusive to SU and their big shot I wouldn't mind having either! ;)

Anyway, latest (not so special) creations here, still trying to get to grip with my promarkers and aligning wodden stamps. LOL
