Hello everyone, well I have been wondering for a while what would make the greatest craft fair/ show experience for crafters and I was asked recently by an organiser of a craft show only on Saturday for hints and ideas.
So I thought what better way than go to the crux of the customers.
Make and Takes
on stalls or separate work space?
minimal charge?
how quick?
Workshops
on what?
Cost?
Duration?
Cropping area? For people who go more than one day?
Demonstration areas.
would you like to see a 20 min demo with different demos from the stall holders
Stalls
what would you like to see?
Stamps. papers, companies?
entrance cost?
meals and seating.
I will be passing this information on. To the organisers of Artstamps.
so come on its your show what would you like to be at them.

One of the best craft shows I have attended is the one in Port Sunlight which Is twice a year. The reason I like it (although I haven't been able to get there for the past couple of years) is because there are lots of demos, some are on the actual stalls but they used to have a large room set aside for demos during the day. There was a schedule when you arrived and they would announce them over the tannoy and you just went in if you were interested.
I do like make and takes though. As I am predominantly a card maker - lots of stamps goes without saying, but I like unusual things as well, lots of things to alter like a good selection of chipboard books. Obviously fabulous paper is a given.
Oh yes, definately somewhere to sit! and if there was somewhere to get at least a drink then great, but everything else you have said would be good as well.

More in the Northampton area would be nice, good parking and an easy to find site, reasonable entrance fee, affordable food and drink not the usual rip off prices, we're crafters remember!! and definitely somewhere to sit...... different stuff to buy but an absolute must is lots of stalls with bargain buys, I personally want to come home with oodles of stash and some money still left in my purse (but not much ) oh and not just at weekends, its either too busy there or I'm too busy here!! none of this probably want you wanted to know, but it seemed like a good idea to ask anyway!!
Many thanks

somewhere to sit
cheap parking/free preferably
low entrance price
Hi Tracey, hope you are keeping well!
I agree with some of the others, cheap entrance fee, good quality food at reasonable prices, plenty of "rest" areas.
Also lots of varied demonstrations and products, lots of shows are very repetitive with their stands so some "different" and "varied" stalls would be great!
More rubber stamps - Penny Black and House Mouse would also be great!

I would echo all the above in regard to entrance fees, parking and somewhere to sit - but the thing I foind the most annoying is stallholders who have samples with stamps they haven't brought with them, or demo's of stamps they have sold out of! Aaaaagghhh.
When I have travelled a long way, paid a ridiculous amount to get in and park, I want to be able to buy there and then. It's not rocket science is it?

i dont feel the need to crop at fares i dont go for that but make and takes great. lots off free parking. a good well run snack bar and plent off areas just for a drink and sit. i think a left property area so you can leave shopping and collect later would be good and coats it means you can buy more if you dont have to lug around all day. lots off information announced on anything going on like demos and classes. info on classes still available as i often do one last minute. and of course all our favourite suppliers. i dont think it would hurt to have free entrance we spend enough. may be a good raffle could make up the money were you could win things like cricut ,large rolling totes big stuff worth having. i ask myself are we just after perfection.
