uploaded photos show 2 sizes?

Why do my uploaded photos in the gallery show 2 sizes, often different? Am I somehow wasting space and uploading them twice? Does anyone know?

Okay have just had a little look in your gallery, this often happened when people uploaded double layouts as one image, that doesn't apply to you. However if you look at the pixel size of your uploads, those that exceed 600 pixels on any one side are the ones that are coming up with double file sizes. That is because the upload software is automatically resizing the photo to within the 600x600 pixel size limits (which I note it doesn't state anywhere on the upload page) to fit within the gallery. You need to keep within the 600 pixel limits as well as the file size limits to prevent this happening in the future. Not sure if then it is taking up twice as much space in your gallery but I suspect so.

Thank you so mucg for this, I will go an experiment and try to make my images smaller. I already rezise them to just 33% of their size, but will try to make them smaller still. I have 4 pages of images and my gallery is full. I guess the porblem is my camera a Cannon D400, I LOVE it, but the images it produces are millions of pixels and very large!
