was it on this thread i saw about the whispers blending pens? have to say OMG they are great!! picked a couple up in paper mill shop yesterday, and despite being really tired when we finally got home, i had to give them a little try! and i love the effect, less messy than water, better for blending too!

What did you blend with them Jo? Watercolour pencils or the Whisper pens?

I'm interested in seeing the effect you can get with the markers... Anyone got any they can show me? I like the look of the SU ones too!

fabby card sue!!

maddiejane, your card is yummie!! I think you're being a little hard on yourself but we are our toughest critics at times aren't we?! having a think... are you doing the blending in circular motion?

maddiejane
31-05-2008, 04:02 PM
Do you know i can't actually remember now . i know i tried both circular & by going up & down but can't think which this is. I do know i stopped using my paper stump & used a cotton bud instead.

peechy
31-05-2008, 04:10 PM
cotton buds are fab :)

maddiejane
31-05-2008, 04:11 PM

are 2 that I have used.

Also I have used watercolour pencils and Prismacolour pencils (which are better) to colour them in - I would personally go for Prismacolour pencils the colour is so much better - and buy them before you come home they are a lot more expensive over here - I've just orderd mine from ebay - waiting for them to arrive!:D

Lovely card joan.
Re: Candle- You can use grease proof paper it allows the image to stick to the candle but if you use wax paper it actually puts a layer of wax on top of the image which then makes it part of the candle and protects the image from being damaged.
I would have thought any good cook shop would sell it. I have a lakeland local.

In addition to those link you've already been given, you can order direct from Magnolia. When I've ordered from them it's been very quick!

I colour mine using Prismas, you can find info on them here: http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=223253

It might also be worth you considering the magnolia stamp club. Info is on my blog here:

From reading the announcement post, does it mean that we will have 2 slots now - one in SG to chat, and one thread in cardmaking to show our creations?

CraftyCaz
03-06-2008, 07:10 PM
I believe the one in card making will be themed...ie Male Cards, Xmas Cards, etc etc, and the Social Groups will be where groups can be formed showcasing specific stamp manufacturers. Maryanne suggested that you post your cards in both the themed thread and in the social group set up for the manufacturer.

I was wondering if anyone was having any difficulties with the stamp club in terms of the price? When I change the currency to £ I am being charged £279 or £1116 for the year! I may love them but I think my husband would kill me if I paid that much.

What scissors do people use to cut out tilda and Edwin? I have just cut 12 Shabby chic Tildas with nail scissors for my neices party invitations (cant find my craft scissors due to still being in chaos from renovating and living out of a bedroom) and found the curved design to work really well with the face etc. The only downside is my thumb is bruised due to the small design of the handle, but that also may be down to the fact that I have damaged tendons.

I actually used my new Nick Bantock inks, I think they are also from Ranger I watercoloured with them. I took the shape from the cricut Accent Essentials cart and made a card out of two shapes.

Fab cards everyone, Butterbee the swing card is so sweet. Have just added a Christmas Tilda card to my blog (http://wwwbloggercom-louby.blogspot.com/)

Louby love yr card!:D

Hiolette's card is lovely Sarah :)

Louby that Christmas card is really pretty, I like the idea of stamping in grey, I may have to get some more ink pads I think. You are very organised!!

Thanks

Hi, so the lovely Theresa (thanks your a gem) sent me some stamped images ... so here are my very first attempts at colouring the stamped images using my Faber-Castell (cheap and cheerful) pencils, whilst extremely bored at work this morning ..... anything I can do to improve them?

Going to hopefully make the cards tonight.

TIA

Crafty Caz do you order direct from magnolia or buy from a local shop ? I don't have a credit card and would rather get in UK if poss.
If not I guess I will have to be really nice to my dad and cook him tea every night for at least 6 weeks then he might just charge me double to use his! ( nah, I am joking he would have no hassle but I have issues with having to have a Credit card even though I would give him the cash straight up I just hate how we are being pushed in this direction and don't want to support it in anyway if poss. I will step of my soap box now LOL!):nono::stop:
