I will be upgrading UKS to the latest forum version on Monday 19th May. UKS will be closed from 9am to about 2pm.
The new software will enable some new features. Those of you who use theDIBB will already be familiar with the enhancements to user profiles. You can now chat with a person by leaving public messages in their profiles.
You will also have friendship groups, where you can invite other members to be your friends and they will be publicly visible in your profile.
One of the new things that will be good for teams is the social networking features. Members can create their own social groups. You can make them invite only, where anyone can read them but in order to post in the thread you need to be invited. Or you can make them public where anyone can post in it.
I plan to prune the database at the same time. Removing all the team chat threads and pruning back the community chat forum to about a month. This will remove nearly a million posts and make the database more manageable.
Team chat social groups should be created by the team leaders and all team chat will be in those groups. It works in reverse to a normal thread where the latest chat post is at the top.
The gallery will also be upgraded at the same time. There isn't a huge difference in the gallery except a small layout change.
So remember UKS will be closed Monday morning/afternoon.
