A little help please in order to curtail the production of confetti!

I am a newbie but quite happy with the way my expertise is progressing. I have one problem that I have not been able to solve logically:-

When I make a complete hash of a design and am quite obviously going to end up with confetti, is there anyway I can stop the cutting (or even the drawing process) via the computer (something similar to pressing escape)?

Just to add to what I said earlier. I have been reluctant to just turn of the Robo in case when I turn it on again it completes the cutting but will obviously be cutting into the black strip. Can I cancel the cutting process in a similar way to stopping a print run by going into Printers/CraftRobo and using the cancel option and will it take long to recognise this request? When I cancel a print run it can take a while before the printer stops. I suppose I can try that but hope someone has already solved this minor problem.
