well what happened was

we ordered kieran the wii back in february for his birthday out of mil's catalogue

well they were out of stock and kieran had £200 which he wanted to buy stuff for it with

well when it arived a couple of weeks back he still hasnt bought anything so i told him yesterday i would take him to go get some fun stuff tomorrow saturday

well if you have seen it there are some fab games o with wii board includinf the football one so we are all going to play it as a family

i guess he will want the gun too though lol but i wont let him spend all his money at once

The 'Middle Wife' by an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or
limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.

She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke, my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday.'

'First, Mum and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mum's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord.'

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.

'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mum starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. 'She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.)

'My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mum to lie down in bed like this.' (Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.)

'And then, pop! My Mum had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!' (This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!)

'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden,
out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mum's play-centre, (placenta) so there must be a lot of toys inside there.'

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another 'Middle Wife' comes along.

Hi Sharon Did my card arrive with its enclosure? Still too jealous to discuss, esp as this hol is taking me to Europe and the Euro exchange rate is blimmin awful. You get 1.2 at the moment, so everything will feel very expensive. I'm just glad we're going all inclusive.

I shall enjoy the most expensive dish on the menu. Good idea! and have a pudding and a starter. But you know, I'll end up paying for it anyway. But you know, if I go on about it, he'll get in a grump and be an idiot again, so it's not necessarily worth it!

I think you just need to look at the classes, see which ones is easiest for us first timers and look out the stuff you are going to use. I am going to do the Pretty in Pink one but without the fabric/felt as I don't have any.

There is a classes thread as well Clair and when it is time for the class they will post a link to a downloadable class and I think you just follow what it says. I am only presuming this as I have never did it before.

hi clair yes after finally catching up on all the chat and the fact the uk's is playing up am here,hi everyone. Glad your journey went safely dawn and that a bummer when people mess you about when buying stuff.Sharon i hate horror movies you usually find me hiding my face behind a cushion and the kids laughing at big old momma being scared.Hope you all enjoy the classes and have fun.Ruth congratulations on the job,awesome you get to do something you love crafts and doing it from home too when you need too. well what have i been upto in the wars again fell over last night and had to meet the doctor at the surgery to check if i needed stitches as its over 2 hours to nearest hospital here,so did not want to travel unnescessarily(sp) but he put surgial strips to hold it together,i have not to wash my hair for a few days ,yuck do i hate greasy hair.good job i had it washed yesterday afternoon so maybe it will not be so bad. Finished my baby card and am pleased with it. and have just eaten marshmallows i know there not good for me,but blame john he brought them for me.went into town and brought some garden plants,but we need the rain to stop to be able to plant them though lol i think that is wishful thinking on our part.john is already asleep he has been working hard this week most days 14 hour shifts the house is eerily quiet,but i will be in bed shortly too as we are going to a boys brigade big breakfast about 10 am i said to john mine will be a small breakfast lol i am not a big eater first thing in the morning.Glad i able to drop a note to everyone,hope to see you late tomorrow afternoon after we get back from town.

Well how did anyone get on with any of the classes/challenges last night. Love your LO Karen. Going to go and vote for your mini book as well. I finished the Pretty in Pink Class and really enjoy it, haven't uploaded it yet though. My magnolia stamps are gorgous, and the actual transaction was fine, all in all it cost me 26 quid, but was a bargain for what i got ( see my blog for the images) i reckon normally would've cost 55 quid ig i'd brought em individually!

They posted on thurs and got today so i thought that was fab! only prob they came unmounted so had to do that myself! (which i hate)
i'm def going to sing up for the summer club!

have been making 40 invites for john and did stamping of bees on them,did not realised i had not done stamping in ages i enjoyed it.
he is pleased anyhow.Am going to make some messages using safmat for inside cards,they are like or similar to rub-ons.

Had very nice meal last night, and was apologised to thoroughly. In the end I couldn't manage pudding, but insisted on something bubbly to make his penance complete. Actually, there is good news, because he has decided not to leave his job as they have offered him promotion! Maybe soon he can start to keep me in the manner to which I would like to become accustomed.

Only other exciting news is that I popped to Hobbycraft this morning to get some ribbon to decorate OH's birthday present and they have the American Crafts line in now (thickers, papers, a big ol' range of embellies). It must have looked strange to that woman who came round the corner to find me doing a little happy dance in the aisle.
