Morning Sue, really super Lo's, have left you some comments. It must be so tempting to be scrapbooking with all that fantastic stash at your fingertips. Do you have to be very careful not to scrap your profits away!

yeah it's some weird name thing. He had a choice of having it cut out completely and plastic surgery or leaving it (it's not dangerous or anything) so he's decided to keep it. Think he's come quite attached to it (haha pardon the pun).
eClaire
24-04-2008, 11:49 AM
Sue - I was on a 2 day course back in november and there was a fantastic shop laid out in the cropping room, it was just brilliant, as you were scrapping, if you needed somthing you could just wander over and match colours and items exactly, take what you want and write it down for payment later. I imagine, having my own shop would be a bit like that.
have you ever taken your shop to a crop? I reckon the shop at our crop took hundreds!

Hilary, Mary and Kat, i'm jelous, I don't mind that I work most of the time, in fact I probably need to work to keep sane, but I have hours of housework piled up and would just love to scrap, but I also have hours of work to fit in today! - grrr, its so annoying. I think I will try to get housework done tonight after DD's swimming lessons and then maybe I will be free on the CC evenings to scrap. O for a lottery win! O yes I forgot, I got a letter from the premium bond people and I won!!! :lol:but only £50, :( so looks like I will still be working tomorrow! however, could geta fait bit of stash for £50, excep the kids and Dh reckon we should all share it

Claire, believe me I was soooo glad to be back at uni yesterday. I was starting to crawl up the walls (bearing in mind I had done some work while i was off). My friend was saying that she's saved enough money to have the whole of the summer off!! That's half way through may until October. I couldn't do that. I have a tendency to get bored to easily.

That's exactly what I'm after, thanks Mary. I think it'll be easier to build up a nice swirl with the more delicate swirls.
Mary Buttons
24-04-2008, 06:12 PM
Its ever so easy with that one I have done it lots of times that is definitely my favourite. It is not only delicate it is also very smooth some of the others seem to be a bit pixelated or rough but this one is perfect.
Wish I could do rub ons but every time I try the go wrong on me so I gave up.

Thanks Mary, arrived safely and amazingly enough I installed it without trouble. I hope to play after tea as long as DH isn't doing his work on the computer. I could do with my own machine and printer:D Sadly, unlike Claire(forgot to say congrats btw!) Ernie hasn't brought us anything this month.

Do you have the two stage rub on paper which makes "real" rub-ons or the decal type which you cut out or are you printing onto shiny acetate and transferring the ink onto the page?
I'm not certain I'll succeed yet but I have the paper so will give it a go.

You mean Stazon? Yes, it's a solvent based ink pad. For acetate and glossy surfaces it is about the best there is. You can also use brilliance but it takes a while to dry and theres another cheap one you can get from hobbycraft but can't recall name. Have asked my friend for her list so will post it when it eventually turns up.
Mary Buttons
24-04-2008, 11:21 PM

Brilliance takes about 24 hours to really set on acetate but generally gives a stronger imprint than stayzon. Not much use for cc weekend as it either won't dry in time or will get rubbed off.

When stamping on acetate you can carefully flip the stamp and acetate over and press the rubber onto the acetate. You can see where the stamp has stamped. Works really well with stayzon as I find it quite sticky so easy to flip!

Still not sure how much DQ will do- I've done lots of prep of kits/embellies for her so that hopefully when she does join in she'll be more self sufficient but not totally convinced it'll work.

Right, washing under control, toilets cleaned, tea planned, pics printed so off to get my Shimelle book ready to upload. Hmm how do I take a photo to document I took a photo to upload?
Borrow Kitty's camera and take a photo of you taking a photo

I would love to have taken a photo of the blind lady and her dog on the bus but didn't have the courage to ask. besides the bus was rather full of other people and that may have been a bit embarassing.

One of our people modules was street photography. It's very hard going out and taking pictures of strangers. Chookie and I spent ages in Nantwich doing it but there weren't many "characters" about. Managed a couple I was very happy with. Wish I'd tried 2 days later as there was a man in full evening dress with bow tie playing classical guitar in the old square by the church and Chookie went the next day and the place was full of folk in medieval costumes.
