22-04-2008, 09:49 PM
Haha!! my cat was fighting with next door's cat. Our cats can't stand the thing (not surprised, it's a mangy little runt) so they take great pleasure in chasing it round the garden (it can't get out once it's in because our fence is too high)

The reason it didn't work was because it was outside the dimensions although it wasn't too big a file the width was too big.

Hi, me back again Giraffina banished to bed, much to her annoyance! One of the kids chats is doing a sweetie alphabet, we just did e,f and g. E was really tricky, can anyone think of a choccie bar or a sweetie begining with E? I came up with Everton mints, but she looked at me like I was talking gibberish, so we had to come up with something else. Look at this fabby site we discovered... The pictures make my mouth water http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=e&sort=2a&page=6

Claire, I don't know how you do it all! You make me tired just reading your posts, sometimes!!!! Good to have active girls, though!!
Right, might head off to bed soon, thankfully the rest of my week is a bit quieter and have a hair cut on Friday! Still not finished MK, must do tomorrow

Night Zahra, I had planned to stay up late and scrap, but I have done the weekly now and I'm saving my photos for the CC. DH away so i may pop off to bed too, as soon as the DD's GO TO SLEEP
I don't see us as special, all their little freinds do loads of stuff too, so it seems normal to them. I do get tired sometimes, but they rarely do!
Kat the Cobbler
22-04-2008, 10:12 PM

The circular writing is done with boring old Word, nothing clever, just used Word Art and chose one of the curved shapes and then dragged the shape into a circle. didn't know you could get vimto as a sweet thought it was only a drink
Kat the Cobbler
22-04-2008, 11:34 PM
Found it
Now there’s a place in Wigan a place you all should know
A busy little factory where things are all the go
They don’t make Jakes or Eccles Cakes or things to stick on walls
But night and day they work away at Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls
Chorus (to be sung after each verse)
Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls keep you all aglow
Give ‘em to your grannie and watch the beggar go
Away with coughs and sniffles, take a few in hand
Suck ‘em and see, you’ll agree
They’re the best in all the land
Me dad has always wanted curly hair on his bald head
Suck an Uncle Joe’s Mint Ball that’s what the doctor said
So he got an Uncle Joe’s Mint Ball and sucked it all night long
When he got up next morning, he’d hairs all over his tongue
Me uncle Albert passed away from ale upon the brain
The doctors said that he were dead and would never walk again
So they gave the corpse an Uncle Joe’s and then stood back aghast
Cos the corpse jumped up and ran to the pub and spent the insurance brass
Me granny said me granddad ‘e were gettin’ old and slow
And fire in grandad’s boiler ‘ad gone out long ago
So ‘e got an Uncle Joe’s Mint Ball, sucked it all the night
But his hot breath singed her vest and set the bed alight
We ‘ad a pigeon it were bald and couldn’t fly too fast
Never won places in the races, always come in last
Though it were bald, no feathers at all it won a race one day
We give it an Uncle Joe’s Mint Ball and it ran al’t bloody way
I had a girl her name was May in passion she were lackin’
Fed ‘er with whisky to make ‘er frisky, still she wouldn’t get crackin’
So I gave her an Uncle Joe’s Mint Ball to get ‘er all aglow
Now she combs the streets of Wigan, looking for Uncle Joe!
We gave some to the coalman’s ‘orse as it stood in the road
It gave a cough then beggared off with it’s cart an’ load
It ran onto the racecourse going like a bird
Covered the track with nutty slack and came first, second and third
The RSPCA have bought six tons of Uncle Joe’s
To give to all the animules to keep ‘em all aglow
Our budgie now is six foot tall, the cat is eight foot three
And all the poor brass monkeys are as happy as can be
Mary Buttons

The kids have been harassing SB to make her let us resume our battle! It's the ones who have been UKS members for years who want the battles to continue-they have seen the adult threads and want similar japes for themselves. There are plenty of other threads for the newbies who don't want to join in so I can't see the harm

I want to have my hair cut short a bit like this (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=143228&cat=500&ppuser=18686) but DD and DH don't like it short-but having said that neither of them passes any nice comments when it's longer so do I go short or not?

Morning ----I think----
Didn't go to bed till 1.00 this morning now I am suffering for it. Still will be OK when I come too

So thats 1 to the longs and one to the shorts
or if you count your familiy that is 3 to the longs and 2 to the shorts
Why not go short but have a softer style

I'm sure you're right. Because I hate hairdressers I go to a cheap village salon when possibly I'd be better going somewhere better with more highly trained staff then I might actually get a style I like.

Morning everyone
How sad am I, I woke up thinking, "ah, I wonder if Claire meant the eclair as in cake with cream in when I meant toffee with chocolate in" - glad to see you spent the night on the subject!!!
OK, can people help me out please (I sent Mary a PM but apparently it was a different Mary because I got an email from someone saying she hadn't a clue what I was talking about!!!!!) I need photos of the following people from the retreat because I can only get them as teeny tiny from flickr: Mary, Kat, Weety...of and Me, may have to ask you again eClaire......sorry. Who had the original Denise one? Could you email that to me as well, please?
Trying to get prepared for this weekend and next weekend ...looking forward to both!!!
Hi Zahra, i did think you meant cream cake eClaire (may be my name influenced me!) I had forgotten about chocoltae sweetie Eclair's)

Clive very nice pages but what happened to page 4, I know that you do not have fingers to count on and can only count in binary but you should still be able to reach 4 that is 001 or off off on

Yes- we have our own thread now. The kids were enjoying it too! It's much the same as when adult teams invade other team threads and cause mayhem. Reminds me- must make some custard pies
Have just spent ages going through my unmounted stamps to find a tiny single candle for the weekly. Think my job for after lunch will be to sort and file the stamps. I'm going to put them in photo albums.
Will need to get ready and go in a minute as need to go to the bank too.
Back about 1.30 probably-takes forever to cut my hair usually!
Off to have my regular panic that they'll start cutting and find I've got nits!!!

Just plain chipboard alpha about 3/4 inch high and a small corner- you'll easily be able to improvise if it is late.
Mary Buttons

I have just been to see if Neil has posted anything on facebook as he is away in Bangkok at the mo.and I have found a very old photo of him which made me laugh, good mind to do a page using it though it is a bit small so not sure how it will turn out.
Also he has been taking photos of himself posing bleery eyed into his phone camera they are not a pretty sight and he obviously thinks the same for the remarks he has added to them.

Who has told you to cut out tea anyway, Mary? Can you have caffeine free tea?
Mary Buttons
23-04-2008, 04:08 PM
It my friend who does the aromatherapy and it is not necessarily the caffeine that is the trouble. but if it means I will be without as much pain during the night and can sleep better it will be worth it. but although I have had one good night it is often followed by bad ones so not sure if it is having the effect I want it to.
My craft room is in a mess again and I want to scrap but can't be bothered to try to find some space.

LOL! Bunny boiler!
No, DQ, DragonLady doesn't have a daughter, but she uses that name when she's travelling around and I often hear her on Radio 2 traffic news!!! (well of her, not her actually)

I often hear mentions of Hilary Blumer on radio 2 but it's the one who lives 10 miles from me who is somewhere on DH's family tree but we've never met!
