Wondered why it had gone so quiet! Mind you it has been today, think everyone must have been enjoying the lovely weather.
Kirsty had an email from Vikki at Capture the Magic today and warned her you and Hazel were coming to pay her a visit!
Kirsty262
22-04-2008, 07:55 PM
why, do you think she needed warning :o   We will be on our best behaviour :D
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 07:56 PM
Do not doubt it but thought it would be nice if she knew you were coming - warning was the wrong word!!! Hope you have a great time there - she has sent me details of places DH can take DD when I get up there at some point so that was really sweet of her.
Kirsty262
22-04-2008, 07:57 PM
aww bless her
Hope she has the kettle on  We will be needing a drink by the time we get there :D

:nono: not if she is driving!
Apparently there is a coffee shop just yards away which customers use mid shop! That is to say they shop and then have a break and then go back for more!!
pinkbaglady
22-04-2008, 08:13 PM
now that sounds like my type of shop.............
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 08:16 PM
Maybe we should head over there for our team meet then!
Kirsty262

I think you should all come to the shop on Friday

Evening
You lot missed me today - Kirsty and Hayley have had mountain rescue out for me
Err what do you mean Denise - alcohol never crosses my lips:ph34r::ph34r:
I'd pm'd Vikki Helen to say we'd be going on Friday coz was going to order on line and pick up , but think I'll wait till we get there. Got my birthday swap to buy for too
Everyone ok today - hows the wee collection?
pinkbaglady
22-04-2008, 10:01 PM
Just looked and it would take me 3hrs 7mins to get to CTM.:(
hazgizz
22-04-2008, 10:02 PM
Oh Denise you need to move nearer to us instead of living in the boondocks!
No sign of Lyn then yet? :(
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 10:07 PM
Wee collection failed :(. Turns out I don't have a cat - I have Houdini! Came home today from school after leaving him in the kitchen and he had gone! Broken the cat flap which was locked and escaped!!!
Much as I would love to come see you on Friday I would not be able to get the day off work :(. Have a really lovely time and come back to tell me if it is worth the trip - it is about two hours 20 mins from me!
hazgizz
22-04-2008, 10:08 PM
I assume houdini has returned? He's not gone awol ???
Our two arent our friends - we've put flee stuff on them both - they hate it! So they've b*ggared off out tonight
pinkbaglady
22-04-2008, 10:09 PM
The what?
So how far is the BOONDOCKS from Yorkshire then?
hazgizz
22-04-2008, 10:12 PM
Miles apparently:lol::lol:
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 10:13 PM
Yes Houdini came back pretty quickly actually - thanks for the reminder we have the worming drops to pop on the back of their necks tonight. Did the flea treatment a week or so ago now. BRB.
hazgizz
22-04-2008, 10:19 PM
Yep worming is the next thing for us too - they HATE being man handled when they dont want to be!
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 10:23 PM
There is a new treatment now that you just pop on the backs of their necks. Cheshire is fine to handle but Tangle can only be caught when he wants to be so we do him when he is all dopey on DHs lap - how easy is that! He never even realises he has been done which is good.
hazgizz
22-04-2008, 10:26 PM
Yep thats what we get - no chance of getting tablets down their throats.
Once we've done one - the other realises its their turn and does a runner!
EmilyLovedHim
22-04-2008, 10:32 PM
Secret is don't do em at the same time ! Do one first and then leave the other until later on or the next day!

Hi guys ... Happy St. George's Day to you :)
Just re-read everything back ... have fun Denise. Oh poo Fi, how annoying is that when what you want is out of stock ... typical. Never mind, did you buy anything else?
I still haven't used any of my magnolia images  I was reading someone's blog the other day ... even though it wasn't in English ... someone had translated it .. and she was talking about how to use stumps and oderless terpentine.
Helen ... what a strange woman that is about putting out washing ... nothing better than the smell of washing that's been out on the line. I was absoultly over the moon when we could finally put in a washing line .. how sad am I   I even took a photo of my washing that day

23-04-2008, 04:59 PM
OMG Sandra last night I was absolutely fuming
Hannah (DD) was on msn to a girl from school about what they were doing today in team meetings (Hannah is the vice captain and this other girl is the captain) although this girl is useless and organises nothing
Anyway she told DD to take in loads of chocolate to do apple bobbing but use choc instead of water. We decided they would need too much chocolate and would be too messy to would use jelly instead so DD told this girl the plan and this girl started swearing at my DD and telling her to do something to her mum (dont think they have taught her the difference between mens and womens bits as it would hve been physically impossible to do what she had said to DD  )
I was absolutely fuming, Hannah told her to stop swearing as I had read it and she said "so what, whats your mum gonna do eh" I could have slapped the little **** what a nasty little girl she is
Apparently she is like this with everyone at school and nobody dare say anything :o I told hannah I would sort it out but she said no
Anyway tis girl is supposedly sending me a letter so will see what it says
But I was absolutely blazing last night, if i had known where she lived I would ave been banging her door down

Had a nice day. Lovely lunch and chat and got some plants for the garden so been potting some of those up this aft.
Done another LO from the mid March kit and another one is waiting to be stuck down. Hope to put them in the gallery tomorrow. That kit sure went a loooooooooong way!
DS3's birthday today. Shame the teachers didn't strike today instead of tomorrow as it would have been nice for him to be home on his birthday.

23-04-2008, 07:16 PM
Strike luckily will not affect us as the school have enough teachers to cover. I understood from the news on Radio 2 today that only those who do not have enough staff will be closing tomorrow!
OK all - I have been meaning to do it for AGES now - hate my user name - might as well just pop my real one in so any ideas on what I can have instead? Anything to do with cats would be good but everything I think of has already gone! All I can come up with is Gingercatlover - and that is only cause of your name Denise !

Whats a terramundi? Is it a fish like barramundi?
A terramundi is an Italian made money box. It is a fabulous ornament, they come in many different painted 'modes'. You can get them with painted words on eg Ferrari Fund, She Fund etc etc. Basically you save money in them - £1 pound coins is the best. But to open them you have to smash them. But if you save pound coins till they are full and then break them you should have about £400 in them. My best friend bought me one for my 'b'day last year and it is now nearly 3/4 full. Being such a gorgeous ornament it is a big decision to smash open but my best friend said that if I filled it to the top she would come and help me smash it and get me another one ( aww love my best friend!) She bought me a pink one!:) They make fantastic pressies. try googling. There on my dressing table lies my new camera............ but the longer I keep pinching DHs pound vcoins the better camera I'll get:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sorry had internet probs - did not try and sort em out earlier as I am still doing my Shimelle book! Yes that is perfect for me - shame to spent that money and have to break it tho :( but I do love the idea of filling it up to save for that something special!
I love my compact - wanted it for ages and then DH managed to get it mega cheap when it was discontinued! It is a Fuji F10 and both of the digital cameras we have had have been Fuji and found them really good.
Denise go into Jessops - they are not the cheapest but they have a good range of cameras, generally give good advice and you get to handle them too. Then go onto the internet (Pixmania are usually good!) and get your camera much cheaper!
As for MILs - as my Mum and Nan never really hit it off I was determined to get with mine but unfortunately she had passed away before I met DH so never got the chance.

Well wii fit ... absoutly great fun, I have just laughed so much that I was crying :lol: Lets just Simon has no balance whatsoever
Mirror is going in the hallway - and lets say thank goodness for old houses  You're right Claire it does need a strong wall, and me to be out
I have taken a photo Helen of it ... so I'll show you later :)

Men have no balance it comes from the misconception that they are a tripod defying the cause of gravity when in fact one leg of the tripod is much, much, much shorter than the other two
I'm not explaining that...think about it :P

Love the new name Helen ... perfect, perrrrr...fect  with the avatar :)
I didn't start the cc at all yesterday, as we went out to our friends for dinner last night .... just had the best time. Penny made the dinner, so I took dessert.
Had planned to do lots on the cc today ... but it's just to glorious here to stay in today, so I'll be working in the garden until tonight - then hope to get some of it done.
Glad to hear Bonnie and Clyde are having fun   But fancy going to a pub without us
 Claire, had to laugh at your 3 man idea  So true  Must say though ...the wii fit ..... so so so much fun.

Had a great time at my crop today. Then I got home................My DH is out atm and I hope for his sake he stays out a bit longer...... I may have mellowed a bit after a couple of glasses of wine......... if not he is on the naughty step for some time to come, with nothing in reach of him to relieve the boredom of being there! I so don't want to go to the christenenig tomorrow not on speaking terms with him but oh boy am I MAD AS MAD CAN BE WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to know where you had your Wii from, was it a store thats up and down the Country and if I get one do I need a memory card to start off with and did you buy it as a bundle deal...looking for the best possible deals around but sadly I need 4 controllers  and they're not cheap are they :o
Plus I want the Wii Fit, you've sold me on that now...not sure DH is overly keen on the idea of a game console to keep you fit, but anything I can laugh at him using is a real bonus

Oh no Denise that does not sound good! Do not let whatever it is spoil your enjoyment of the day tomorrow though whatever you do. Try and sort it out tonight - believe me whatever it is cannot be as bad as the two things my DH did last year!

Hey Claire!
LMK if you find a great deal and I will do the same for you, as I'm looking for one of these before the Summer hols:)
Finally persuaded DH to take the kids out for an hour this afternoon.
I managed to add a skirt to my mannequin (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=159690&cat=500&ppuser=20103) for the Artbase class and rustled up a couple of the challenges just in time to upload before the deadline. Phew!
How are you getting on Helen?
Hope the wine has done the trick Denise:)

Hi Fi
I can find good deals at Game but sadly they are out of stock of the wii remote controller and the nunchuck and being a family of 4, I need them to be starting off with so there are no tears iykwim...otherwise me and Jay won't let them play, they can watch from the settee
Will keep looking and if I find something I'll drop you a PM
Enjoy your CC everyone :) I don't take part cos I can't scrap fast and meet deadlines...I get flustered

oh my Denise, what has he done??? You're right, it's not something that should spoil your day tomorrow ... and just think, it's been a lovely weekend so far, you've cropped today and tomorrow its just going to be wonderful :)
Claire we got the wii, last year from Argos. It was a better deal for us, because we wanted to choose the games we wanted, and not just the ones that came as a bundle .. the main one we wanted was the sports one .... great, great fun. The wii fit, we had on pre-order from Amazon - but check out John Lewis, I know they had them in stock and were at a good price I think. Yesterday while we were at friends for dinner, they had ordered there's from Game, I think ...and were picking in up today. But we did check on ebay .. and already people were selling them at stupid prices.
I want to have a look at the cc ... and will a bit later, but I'm the same, can't cope with deadlines .. I never really like what I've done, and then have to take it apart and re-do it later
We've been inthe garden all day ... it's just been stunning weather - and the greenhouse, and all its new shelving is almost full

Sounds like you've had a productive day Sandra and made the most of the lovely weather:)
I agree with you bothabout LOs done during a CC! I tend to do the challenges rather than the classes as they're usually quite quick and easy and you don't waste too much stash:lol:
I'm quite pleased with my mannequin so far, but it's still a work in progress to be finished after the CC. I've done the backgrounds for the 6x6 album to go with it, but didn't want to rush them by 4pm:wacko:
I love the look of quite a few classes, but I'll do them in my own time:)
Hope all goes well tomorrow for you Denise:)

Really annoyed that the classes and challenges from yesterday have to be up loaded by noon today as I was hoping that the ones from later yesterday I would be able to do today :( Guess I still will but won't get any points for them. Hi all
Got 390 a record for me and included 50 pts for the Shimelle Class pre crop - did the tag too for the 10pts although it is not very good it was fast and I did not mind doing that for the point but refuse to waste my stash for points!
I loved Annette's class and will be making more!
Gottacraft
27-04-2008, 05:17 PM
I liked her class too Helen. I still need to do some finishing bits to it though - I made mine into a book for my to do lists

Mine developed in that I choose the papers as they match my bedroom, then found the "buttons" with Kiss and SWAK on them along with the heart buckle so it sort of did itself! Have no idea what I will used it for but cannot believe that I have not used my robo once this weekend - thought I would use it loads! Also did not use my BIA but then again never did intend to do the Mission Impossible class and Annette's is better with the bookrings anway.
Gottacraft
27-04-2008, 05:40 PM
No I didn't use my BIA ... which is what I wanted to do. Still, I've printed off the classes I wanted too and one of them is for books ...is that the mission impossible one Helen?

27-04-2008, 06:20 PM
OK I'll admit...you all beat me, I haven't done anything from the cc :o
I just can't scrap that fast and even if I tried I'd make a right mess and in a week I'd just do the layout again wasting stash plus I work the weekend and then I've been out in the garden drinking wine and having a laugh with the neighbours :)
Proud 'Mom Moment' my eldest DS has just received 84% for his green belt, highest in the class...aww bless he's had to work so hard because he had to start over again because the old style Do Kan Riow (sp) was not accepted at this Shota-Kan (sp) class so he had to do all his belts again...so proud

I haven't done anywhere near as much as others on the cc ... the only actually layout I did was Gerties class .. and loved doing that one. I still need to do the finishing touches to the book one anyway.
Well we've hung the mirror ... blooming hell it was heavy - still theres enough in there so that it never moves  Looks good though - just means I really need to finish the painting in the hallway - uuummmm may start that next week
