Lick the back of your hand, put salt on the (now) sticky back of your hand, lick the salt, down a large dose of straight tequila and then bite into the lemon.

Well my cj page is done just waiting for the embellishments to dry and then i'll post it on monday or tuesday.Its hard enough to think of a design as well as its the smallish size i have worked in,not sure if its like i had in mind but its okay for a first attempt and you do learn heaps as you do it,and i am sure i'll learn more as i do the others.
did some housework,i was planning on doing for the last 2 days but i dont get much done if john is home as he wants to do stuff together and take me places cause i am on my own sometimes for long days.

good morning ladies

i hope that you are all ok

sorry i wasnt on yesterday only had a really bad time on friday night when out at the pub. my 2nd cousin was asked if she wanted to come out with us for a few beers and she accepted saying how nice it was of us to ask her to come out etc. well the first part of the night was great, we were having a real good laugh chatting to anyone and everyone but then as the night went on she started to get more and more uptight about something, no idea what tho. to cut a long and could be boring story short, at 10.15 she went into a cubicle in the ladies toilet with a man!!!!! me and karen know this man very well and really is not someone you should be doing that with !! we went into the toilets to get her and she emerged with him from the cubicle, we were asking what she thought she was doing etc as said before this man aint a nice man really and anyway she flipped big time. she pushed karen into the toilet by her throat and then headbutted her, during this time im trying to get her off karen and she punched me twice in my head. eventually the bouncers got her off karen and booted her out of the pub. i couldnt believe it, a member of my family going nuts like that, and she hadnt had that much to drink either. so the upshot is, i no longer class her as part of my family, she sent me extremely nasty threatening texts and left message on my home phone threatening too. karen has a really nasty black/purple lump on her forehead which is extremely painful and i have 2 smaller lumps on the side of my head which one has a little cut on it. she is very lucky that karen or me havent foned the police really, the bouncers said they would back us up if needed but to be honest we dont want to stoop to her level, she a nasty pice of work and we have found out the hard way, but she is barred from the pub for life so thats a blessing and good enough for us as we know we will be safe going in the pub next week etc.

anyway enough of my ramblings lol

ruth its nice to see you back hun, hope you have had a good time and will tell us what you got up to.

dawn, i hope that you are ok this morning hun, i know you going to m-i-ls later so hopefully we can have a chat when you get back.

Sorry I wasn't on for a couple of days but I had visitors up on Friday night and then yesterday (it is THAT time of the month) I was in bed most of the day with bad stomach cramps. Its like that every month but some months are worse than others. Anyway feeling better today :rolleyes:. I have the hairdressers are 11.45 to get my roots done. I love going to the hairdressers at this time cause this is my holiday haircut woo hoo.

glad you are feeling better today, i know what those cramps are like mine was yesterday too. i dont know if she has always been like that hun, ive only been back in touch with her for the last 2 years after about 15 years of not seeing her. she is in a very volatile relationship tho and has been for 10 years so i dont know if that has something to do with it. but still you dont think for a minute that she would turn like that, especially on family and close friend. she kept saying all evening she is so lucky to have a cousin like me and my best friend is very special to her too, yeah right lol, so special that she attacks us lol it is a very good job that you can pick your friends hun, you are right there lol

bet you cant wait for your holiday hun, i'm not having a holiday this year :( going to miss it big time, maybe if i can save up i may be able to go later in the season, probably september time. ive been to zante 5 times in 2 years and i love it so its going to be hard if i dont go now, made so many friends out there, its like 2nd home.

Yeah as you said Lisa, no matter what kind of relationship she is in it doesn't give her a ticket to be violent to anyone never mind family. That's an awful way to treat anyone. As for her going into the toilet with that man when she is in a relationship, that's awful. You and your friend did the right thing at the time by trying to stop her, I would have done the same. She doesn't deserve family like you hun, you are better off without her if that is the way she is going to treat you.

I can't wait, we are kind of classing this as our honeymoon. I know we had our honeymoon when we were in Florida getting married but its hard to have a proper honeymoon when 6 other people are with you lol. I have never been to Zante, heard it was lovely though. Worked in Rhodes for 6 months though and loved it.

thats great hun thanks, ive never been to any part of america, so it would be nice to see whats its like. my all time dream is to take my mum to elvis presleys graceland, she adored that man and i would love more than anything to take her while she is still fit (almost lol) enough to go that far. my dad wouldnt go tho, he didnt like elvis lol so i think we would have to put him in respite or something like that. perhaps if i won the lottery lol but then again you have to have a go on the lottery to win it lol

My best friend and her husband were supposed to be going this month but she fell pregnant and she had to cancel it. Am almost delerious with joy! Went into town today and oh took me for lunch (that's not the good bit, though I do like Wagamama).

On the way back I stopped off in Boots and weighed myself. Even after huge lunch I had lost 17 flipping pounds since Christmas.

I thought clothes were feeling a bit looser, but I didn't expect that much.

Crikey, Lisa. Just caught up with your story. Sounds like you are better off away from this person: sounds like a nasty piece of work to me!

Hope you and Karen are feeling less bruised now. That's an awful thing to happen, especially when it's a member of your family. It just goes to show that the fact you can't choose your family isn't necessarily a good thing. I don't think that just because you are related to someone you should have to be firm friends with them.

Hope you're feeling less battered soon.

That is fantastic Bridget, I am so proud of you. What have you been doing to lose it all?


I've been being really controlled about what I eat Monday to Friday and doing what I want over the weekends. This means that I don't feel too much like I am losing out. I will say, though, that recently weekends have been starting on Friday mornings!

On a weekday I'll generally not eat any meat or fatty stuff and lots of fruit and veg, so something like porridge with dried fruit and a smoothie for brekkie, a jacket potato with beans for lunch, and a nice big fruit salad for dinner.

It's taken the oh a while to get used to me not eating meals with him in the evening, but he has taken to the ding dinner with gusto!

Hopefully this will kick start me again, as it's only 4 weeks until my holiday and I'd like to get down a size proper by then!

Your hair sounds nice sharon i have grown my hair longer than i have been used to for years its weird its at the in between stage where you tuck it behind your ears because i hate its not long enough to tie back yet.
well not done much but the shopping today and recorded the cricut show on create and craft to watch later,i like the cricut lady who demonstrates she has some good ideas,if the presenters shut up long enough for her to do so.
am thinging will i read on just stay on the computer and mess about,not sure,was going to watch the golf on tv but its the european stuff and not the usa which i prefer.It is harder than you think to work on a cj and i have never worked on a page that small and i am afraid i am one who likes things to match both in life and my scrapbook pages,find it hard to experiment outside the box so to speak i am hoping it will get easier as it goes along.

Hello everyone, had a visit today from sister and b-i-l. So had to tidy through this morning (always makes me feel better!) and volunteered to cook full Sunday dinner for us all too! The have not long left, Callum is now in bed so I have a bit of "me" time finally this weekend!

Registered last night on Ancestory.co.uk for their 14 day free trial, and I am amazed at what I had found in the space of 2 hours. Lots of gaps are starting to be filled, so I am really chuffed. It has been quiet this week, I know Dawn has been suffering terribly since the crash, so has had to take quite a bit of "time out", I have had work meetings during my time and also at night so have not been on to chat as much as I would like! Can't see this week getting much better either! Roll on the holidays!

I meant to say on the wedding list front, we had an invite a few years ago that had two sheets in one from Argos and the other I think was Debenhams. They each had a number on and were sent out with the invitations. I think the idea being that you made a list from each place and they held it at the shop (presumably on the computer), then when people wanted to buy something you just went in to the store and asked to see the list for that number!

I know when I got married I got a duplicate notepad and put in items(have to say alot of these were from Argos) with catalogue numbers where available and then this got passed around. If someone saw something they wanted to get they tore off the first bit and left the duplicate in the pad.

I have also seen where people state (like Dawn) that you are saving for something in particular or where people have asked for vouchers for a certain place!

Of course if you don't do a list you stand the chance of getting 6 toasters!

Hi Ruthie

We had a list (even though we got married ages ago and none of our friends had any cash!). We put a few things on there, but knew that our friends weren't that flush, so asked for vouchers which we then added together to get some of the larger things.

I've just been buying for a friend from the US from their list, and I found it really difficult. They only had some really ugly china that I couldn't bring myself to buy, towels, or things that were over $200. Yeah, right. They have towels, so they can remember us every time they dry their bits.

As long as you have a range of things at different prices, and people feel they can contribute to other things, it makes the guests' lives so much easier. I find it less stressful than thinking that I have to go searching for that special something.

Dunno if that's helpful. (poss not, but hey ho)

well ive completed the cards and tags, nothing very complex as my hands are not upto it, basically just brenda pinnick kits so everything is precut i just needed to use glue so no pressure on hands with scissors or die cutters etc etc

just got to do to storage for them so ive got a bright pink paper bag and im folding it over hole punching and then tieing with ribbon so that needs to go in post tonight

my maze book was already finshed i just too pics and than that needs to do in post tonight too

I work for North Lanarkshire Council in the Environmental Services Dept and I do the accounts/invoices for there. It can be pretty stressful but year end is over with thank goodness, its eased off a little.

Dawn there is a scrapbooking retreat up here, think it will be March next year. I am planning to go to it next year, maybe it would be a good idea if we all saved our pennies and went together then that way we could all meet each other.

for halloween you can use bright orange and black and then use stamps, brads etc to match

look in my gallery i did a halloween one when we all did the pumpkin

if you see the pumpkin on the right hand page bottom corner, i googled that then printed onto photo paper and cut out

do you see the ghost letters, that is a font that i downloaded from the net too

well i've downloaded a halloween font, its not like urs just normal writing which is a bit halloweenfied. printed some ghouls onto orange card for backing paper and am now going to google some halloween images.

What movie ou watching Clair? I am watching Coronation Street, don't even know why, don't like it that much lol.

Well cases mostly sorted, just underwear, hair stuff and hand luggage to sort.

You are very organised sharon, i usually pack the day before and still packing the morning we leave!!lol

It's called vanished without a trace, bout a schoolbus that gets hijacked and all the children and driver get put into some kind of bunker while the kidnappers are trying to get a ransom!

Its very good and since having kids i find these kind of films even more heartbreaking! only bout 20 mins left!

i dont watch any soaps either, sometimes eastenders if its on and i've got nothing else to do.(which is very rare!)

OMG I would so panic doing the packing the day before or even the day of, I just could never settle myself. I so think I have OCD with certain things.

That sounds good, I quite like that channel sometimes, they play heartbreaking movies though.

Stardust is the one with Robert Di Niro right? I saw a little bit of it on the plane last year, I just couldn't get into it though.

This year we have 27 dresses to watch, much to Tony's disgust lol.
