Bubbly Funk – The Shop
I own and run Bubbly Funk, the online craft store, which has been open now for two and a half years! Doesn’t time fly……

I am gradually taking the shop in a new direction and concentrating mainly on chipboard and related items. I also have my own range of chipboard – Bubbalicious – which can be found in store! Our monthly kits are always popular too.

Bubbly Funk isn’t just a store though, we have a Gallery, Forum, Chat Room and a fab array of Articles to help and inspire you. If you have any queries at anytime then please do not hesitate to contact me at caroline@bubblyfunk.co.uk.

Have you guessed the challenge yet?

G'morning :D

Great photos Leigh - I especially love the one of you holding the lizard thing - your face doesn't look too certain!! Harry is very brave to hold that spider - I wouldn't go near it!! And ouch to his poor eye, nasty deer!! :(

Rach, I didn't realise it was that expensive to home school! But I think it is definitely an option I would consider in your shoes .... more hugs for you!

ooh The Hives. That'll be ace. We saw them a few years ago at Leeds Festival, great live act, if a little experimental in places.

SuzieR
17-04-2008, 01:01 PM
Rachel, they are fab aren't they?! I think they are the best live act I've seen, maybe with the exception of the Violent Femmes .... Howling Pelle is hilarious! The best I've ever seen them was at the Electric Ballroom in Camden - very small and they were on top form! I do like the Brixton however, my fave venue, so am really looking forward to it :D

Need to decide whether to chance taking the small digi camera .... not sure if they're allowed in these days! With all the fancy phone cameras around I don't see why not and I'm sure I've seen others with cameras ....

I haven't seen anything live since I was pregnant. We went up to Blackpool to see Bloc Party.

Normally we go to Manchester Uni. Love the small gigs, so much more atmosphere.

Morning Chicks

A very eventful night for my poor Mum, she's shattered today.

Andie, course you can come and see them, although they almost didn't make it :(

Mum said that just after we left yesterday evening (about 7 ish), the fluid sac appeared and she thought that things would get moving quite quickly. Well it wasn't the case and at 2.30 this morning she rang the vets so say she was taking her down as she was struggling.

Vet did an internal, could feel a pup, and it felt big - Otty isn't a big dog so 3 a good litter for her. Anyway, vet couldn't feel the pup moving and suspected that it was dead :(. Tried a forceps delivery but that didn't work, so they had to do a c-section.

Anyway, there are 3 pups all doing well, feeding well etc, and a hefty vet bill for my mum :o. Other problem with a c-section is that the mum doesn't recognise them as her own because she hasn't given birth to them, so although she is feeding them, Mum has to encourage her to lick them, but I'm sure she will do.

Vet said that it was lucky, the way things were looking we could have lost the pups and Otty :( :(

So, we'll be going over to see them all tomorrow - Charlotte wants to go today, but I think Mum needs a day to recover from the whole ordeal!

Ooooh forgot to say, 2 girls, 1 boy, all blenheims :D :D :D

Will of course be taking the camera with me tomorrow :D

SuzieR
19-04-2008, 12:15 PM
OMG Rach! How stressful for your poor mum! But glad the puppies are ok and I'm sure she will take to them quickly! Wish we could have one!

The Hives were fab, although I am suffering a bit this morning ... only had a few bottles of beer, but I just can't take the pace anymore! Here's a couple of the more decent photos:

As far as I know they are all doing well. They are all good sizes and are feeding which is a good sign.

Just means that Mum will really have to think hard about whether to use Otty for a mating again as it will definitely have to be a c-section again.

Can't believe how cold its gone again - put the fire on - brrrrrrr.

I've enjoyed a day off from speaking to them today . We should know sometime next week if we've any joy in getting a place at either of the schools we stated in the email. I'm still going to push as much as I can to get her in our preferred school but it is very unlikely that will happen. Just waiting now to hear about the appeal date.

Suzie - Leigh tells me that you recently bought a box frame - could you tell me where from please???

Fanks!

Right, got to go to Matalan - fancy dress outfit to sort and a pressie for Charl's friend for a party this weekend. Oooh and as Matalan is conveniently close to Borders, I'll call in there to see if they've got any decent scrapping mags and as Borders is next door to Hobbycraft, I'll call in there because it would be rude not to :P (and I need black ribbon for putting bows in my hair for the weekend!)

Catch up later xxx

Fab thanks for that - I will have to have a look - never actually been there, but first time for everything. My Mum gave me some old pictures to scan in for her and also for me to print out - she's putting together a photo album for her brother. Anyway, the pics are of her and her brothers when they were little and some of my Grandma and Grandad's wedding pics (poor Leigh got to see some of them on MSN earlier ). I'm wanting to do a box frame LO with one of the wedding pics for my mum.

Why the bows? I'm going to a 30th birthday party this weekend and its fancy dress - 80s theme, so I'm attempting Madonna. I need to try and dig out a skirt - sure I must have one somewhere! Bought a few bits today from Matalan.

Got a top that will go off the shoulder - oooooooh, will wear black vest top underneath, the top has a belt with it and looks very 80s ish. Also got some black leggings that are just going to look hideous and extremely amusing, then a hairbandy bow thing (avoided the trip to Hobbycraft), some bangles and a necklace that looks like lots of necklaces but all in 1.

So, left to get - some tasty lacey fingerless gloves! Nice! Ooh and I need to think how to do my hair 80s styleeeeee - lots of hairspray me thinks!

Top is terrible - I'm not going to buy something and never ever use it again, so I'm trying to find something that will do the job for Sat, but can be worn again - their was another top.

Think I'm going for black top and leggings with some colour in the skirt - necklaces - hairband/bow thing in my hair, bracelets, big earrings, ankle boots - tasty! Does that sound 80s ish? Oooh and lace fingerless gloves! OMG thank god I was only 2 - 12 in the 80s and had no control over what I wore!

SuzieR
21-04-2008, 09:58 PM

Yeah struggling with the skirt - but seen a beachy type ra-ra ish skirt in Matalan today - not in black tho - only in pink or turquoise, so either of those colours should be fine - did think which ever colour skirt I wear, I could wear matching colour vest top under other black top.

Got the black lace gloves - they're on order, along with Scott's magnum outfit :D

Andie, it is a worry, but I'm not really the worrying kind. It has happened before and we have survived. Worst case scenario, I'll have to work fulltime which would be hell but we'll see what happens. Dave tends to worry a lot which is not good for him. First thing to go will be his flipping gym subscription which he rarely uses! :P I'm hanging on to my kit subs as long as I can!!!!

Swap-bot - it's fab. Lots of swaps, kind of like our swap forum but bigger and more varied. There are all kinds of swaps on there - all creative is some way. I've joined a photography one, a writing one, an altered matchbox and fill it up one and a couple of others .... all should cost very little to do, but postage is international. There are some 'domestic only' ones too. It's great!!

Oooh eck hope everything is OK with your DH's job Suzie xx  @ Steph - not the husband hugging type - ha ha ha.

Yep outfit all sorted. Bought some rather lovely blue eye shadow and eyeliner today - didn't bother with the mascara tho - ooooh and I got some blusher, which I never wear, so I'll look a right old trollop!

Got a better top today - and a blue vest top to go underneath and the blue skirt - gloves should arrive tomorrow, along with Scott's Magnum stuff (OMG what a plonker he'll look!), and then Rachel is very kindly sending me her turquoise leg warmers! All sorted! Woo hoo! Or not - oooh I did go to Hobbycraft today though as Matalan didn't have anything I could put in my hair in the right colour - so got some turquoise ribbon.

Less of the old trollop you, I wear blusher on a daily basis ;) (well almost...or is that just the rosy glow from the wine????)

Well my guess is its the wine, either that or its the wind when you're driving around without your top on (read into that what you will :P).

I was very good - I went to get my ribbon and that is all I got - didn't even look at anything else!

Just a quick pop on to say hi. Off out in a min.

Rach, the leg warmers went off in the post today, so they should be with you tomorrow.

Hmm just heard from Dave. 6000 job losses over two years - and probable heavy losses in marketing and communications which is his area :( . I think he would like a change of career altogether, but to what he doesn't know

Glad the outfit is coming together Rach :)

I am now addicted to swap-bot, along with Steph! Anyone else? :)

Off to get kiddies now.

Hugs for both you and hubby Suzie

I have never heard of swap-bot-off to investigate:D

Hay - caught up with you before it rolled again...gosh it's troublesome finding you.
That said, hope everyone is ok and keeping well.
Hope you had a good holiday Andie?
Off on my Scrapping Angels weekend on Friday night so will get lots of points for the Team - I don't think I'll be doing the Cyber Crop somehow. I've booked 8 classes at the retreat tho so hopefully the points will come bouncing through for you.
And then I think I will 'retire' as a member of the Choc Chicks or become a silent member for the time being. I have realised that the next all dayer crop I will be able to get on will be about...October!! This is simply because of all the activities, breaks, stag dos and holidays that we have booked from now until then...culminating in an 18 - 30's (well 50's relly) holiday with some girl friends in the middle of September - I really can't see myself keeping up with the chatter or earning any valuable points for the team...so, if everyone wants to decide if I should go 'silent' or leave graciously from the Team, please let me know - have a vote or something..? I would love to be able to 'pop' on now and again to say 'hello' and I will of course by keeping up with the Wednesday (well, as many as I can) Crops in Cheadle so any gossip and scandal, keep me informed..so I'll leave you to decide
Love you all
Alison xx

She also said that maybe she should leave the team:( says she loves being part of a team, but can't find the time to chat at the moment-although she did say she has done some LO's of Isabella and will upload them soon :D. I've told her the same as Alison, that she should not go!!!!

So unless anyone disagrees-we have a couple of members that can only pop on occasionally:D:D

You turn away from the pc for 10 mins and the conversations in the gutter......
Just what IS the world coming to tut tut,.....lol

Leigh the rash is still there and has spread up both arms and to upper chest but it isn't itchy anymore which is a huge bonus! Got the docs in the morning but I think it's gonna be the usual - allergic reaction or a viral infection.
