I just spent AGES typing a huge post and when I went to post it said the thread was closed and now I've lost it!
Anyway, the brief version:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATH!
Sorry things are pants for you right now, we'll all be sending you our best positive vibes, sweetie. We miss you, though and I hope everything starts improving for you, and that you have a lovely day today.
I've managed to crack a bone in my elbow, so have my right arm up in a sling for the next week or so and am off work today. Which won't go down well, as I've just moved departments at work and I'm off already. Have to figure out if I can do the job one armed, but at least the sling will be useful for carrying all those price labels in (I kept dropping them yesterday!).
I'm off to go feel sorry for myself (I can't even tie my hair back one-handed!)
Hope everyone else has a much much better day!!!

Hello to everyone else too - hope you are all enjoying a lovely sunny day like we are here.
Off to do some of the dreaded h-word as the house is empty at the moment so I can get on without interruptions:lol:

Oh fishy, monkey Sis. I'm SO sorry about your elbow. You poor chick you. {{{{{{{hugs and special get well soon wishes}}}}}}}} to you hun.
Cath, it's wonderful to hear from you hun - only sad that you're not in a good place at the mo. The girls have said it - we're all here for you ~ any time.
Evening to everyone else! Finally I got round to going to the Doctors today ... fought with the receptionist to get an appointment .... and the reason I've had a headache for 10 days is cos I've got a blinking sinus infection! Great. So I got a prescription, took it to the chemist and they told me to buy sinutab which was about a fiver cheaper!! Marvellous! So taken a couple and they've not touched it ... but cumulatively I hope it'll start working soon.
Right off to have a mooch around.

Hey Sally, I took a peek at your minibook today - so gorgeous, and it also made me want a silhouette, rather than a robo. It looks so much easier to use. I spend far too long faffing with my robo to be bothered to use it much. I'm also tempted by a Cricut Expression at the moment, wonder if i could sell Robbie on the marketplace.....
I'm off to make up some wish-lists on sponsors websites as DH keeps asking me what I want for my birthday:D I don't think he would streatch to a new die-cutting machine though<_<

Evening All!
Happy Birthday Cath... We're thinking of you.
I've had quite a nice day, as was home alone today and even DH collected DD from nursery this afternoon. So I made my mum a posh birthday card (pictured)... went to town a bit!!
I have also been working on a Sunday's Ribbon Storage Solution!!!!!
It's a DIY set of instructions to make your own storage. I'm still writing the blurb, but when I'm done I'm hoping someone can give it a test drive and give me feedback. Cos I would like to market it online (for a couple of dollars only), and I can't find anything similar online. I'll let you know when I am nearing completion of 1st draft soon I hope!
Oh and Sal... pictures gone to work address.
SallyB
15-04-2008, 08:53 PM
Lovely card Sunday, she'll be everso pleased. And thanks everso for pics. Will retrieve tomorrow!! I'll try to test drive your ribbon storeage if you like .. I'm desperate to sort mine out ... although mine are lengths of ribbons as opposed to reels of ribbon - does that matter?
Here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=157219&cat=500) is a lo I did this evening for today's CC challenge.
SallyB
15-04-2008, 08:55 PM
Siobhan - I honestly think that the robo and the silhouette are EXACTLY the same machine. It's just that the silhouette can use images downloaded from the QK site and the GSD files - where as the robo can only use GSD files. Promise, promise - they are EXACTLY the same ... just distributed by different companies ... Justine (Just_a_Bean) my chum has a robo and she came over and took a look - we're "sharing" files - but I'm doing best cos I can use ALL of hers, and she can't use any of mine!! LOL!!!

Sal... nice LO, left a comment. As for the Ribbon storage... it is exactly for people who don't have or don't want to have their ribbons on reels! Reels take up a lot of space and if you want to "test" a ribbon on a LO, you have to unravel and then rewind the ribbon each time. My system you just pick up the holder full of the colour you want... say ... green and just run your hand through the ribbon, pick out the ones to offer up to the page and keep or discard what works and what doesn't in seconds... and all the ribbon stays on the holder. You can cut off whatever length you want and the rest stays on the holder! There is even an area on the holder for keeping really short pieces of ribbon (scraps under 12") so that everything stays together.
And I have also made a system to help with identifying for re-ordering.
Sorry did that sound like a sales pitch? LOL

Well it's only made of card and a few staples plus a small folding bulldog clip to hang it by and I've been using the system for over 6 months now. Had some comments at my crop, so thought I might "share"... free with y'awl, but for a few pence for the templates and instructions on the web.

Hi All,
Sal,I have your headache now......its been banging on for 2 days now.I go to sleep with it and wake with it.My doc gives me anti biotics when I get it usually but I am trying to get it to go naturally with some menthol crystals and olbas oil.The house stinks but its better than the paint stink.
Decorating is on hold now as my head hurts to much to keep looking up and down!!
I have finished the LO I was doing Saturday but can't post as my mate is in Cornwall on holiday so I will wait for her to come home and then post all my LOs over 2 days and get lots of points for the RRRs.
BTW I didn't take pics of my CJ so cam someone do that for me and email me so I can claim for my DLO? Thanks everso.
Off to lie down for a bit now so see you all later :)

Hiya evreebody!
Thanks for the get well wishes. It doesn't hurt much (especially with the co-dydramol) except when I move it, or roll over in my sleep. ouch! It's just really annoying not being able to do anything, although it has got me out of doing HW! Poor OH is reduced to being my hairdresser!
For all those with headaches, I hope they clear soon, and you have my sympathy. I know it's not fun having it for weeks on end. At least my anti-histamines have sorted out my hay-fever induced squashed brain feeling.
I'm going to tackle one-handed scrapping today - should be interesting!
Katy, have fun with the students.
Debbi, I will photo your CJ as soon as I have both hands (the left is not steady enough on it's own, feeble thing).
Dawn, enjoy lunch and crafting, and could you do me a huge favour and take pics of my CJ, as I'm in the same boat as Debbi and others and forgot to do it before it went.
Laters.

Hi,
Not been around for a few days, lost the thread and to be honest was feeling so rough, probably wouldn't have posted anyway. I'm at work with a splitting headache, doc has given me another prescription in the hopes to 'hit it on the head'
Spent the day in Brighton yesterday, so DD could get her application forms for the RAF, didn't find a single craft shop  and I'd managed to save £50 for the occassion, and then spent it on a new pair of summer sandles B), got home in the afternoon and went straight to bed
I missed Sally's question on whether or not I could make the 4th July weekend at hers, sorry I can't - I have to go to Reading for a 50th birthday party - I really would have liked to have 'met' you all.
Will try to get back on later, I'm at work at the mo - IT police are watching
SallyB
16-04-2008, 02:45 PM
You and me both AD with the IT police!! Reading is close .... you could come to us during the day and meeting your hubby later!!! Tehehehehehe!!!
My head is killing ... just been and bought sinutabs so hoping they kick in soon! Me no likey this at all!
I'm really struggling here today ... can't get motivated AT ALL! Just keep thinking of pretty, sparkly things! Pah ... not too many more mins til I get to go home!
If I feel like this 2moro, I really might take the day off ... think looking at a pc screen all day doesn't help!
Hey ho!! Back to work I go (again!!!)

Morning all. My flipping head is worse! Stupidly I'm in work, but (a) it's REALLY busy, (b) my boss is away and I feel kind of "responsible" and (c) if not here, don't get paid = NO MORE STASH!!!
I took some of the sinutabs yesterday and promptly "lost my lunch"!!! So I'll try them again today and see how I go. If no better, think I'll get the Doc to give me some antibiotics. I've never had sinus probs before ... and frankly, don't want them again.
Hope everyone elses heads/arms etc., are all feeling HUGELY better.
Well done Katy ... slowly but surely sweetie.
Right have a lovely day one and all.

Won't doing anything scrapwise until I have completed the pile of ironing, and I have the day off tomorrow to tackle it  I have to get it done, because I have to make a card for DH - its our anniversary on Saturday.

still got this darm headache....co dydramols won't shift it but I am glad they are helping your arm Laura...I have tried Katys 1- 10 idea but still no luck. Its really painful looking at the lappy screen and I fell sick with it tooo.
DS has been really good and when I nodded off earlier,he was stroking my head and saying'' nice nap Mummy,dr Shay is here'' LOL love his cotton socks...wish he was more like that every day instead of the constant fight we have with him atm......after 3 kids you would think I would know how to cope with 1 5 year old who thinks he is the boss....maybe its a male thing or maybe its a LEO thing....
Right off to sniff some menthol crystals and lie down in the dark before I get a migraine ontop :(
Have fun girlies XXXX

Evening everyone,
Sorry to hear there are so many headaches around. I've only got a metaphorical headache as I'm trying to get to grips with my new camera (:D) and the blinkin manual is 96 A4 pages. It's so big you only get it on a disk so I'm going to have to print it off at work:lol: I'm hoping to be able to take much better pictures of DS now. I got a tripod to go with it tooB) I feel very professional now, NOT!
Just waiting for dinner to be ready, I'm starving - bit late tonight:rolleyes: Still no scrapping done, it's been ten days now:huh:

Well, I gave up and came home head got so bad. I'm wondering if there is a virus going round UKS!?!?!?! Deb, honestly my sweet, I know exactly how you feel ... I've been inhaling menthol and eucalyptus today - it's doing nothing, but then neither is co-dyrdamol, paracetamol, ibuprofen, diclofenac .... NOPE I've not taken them all in one day ,,,, just over the last 11 days that I've had this bloody pain! I tried the 1-10 thing too ... if someone told me lying on a washing line would help, I'd do it.!! LOL (AND NO, I'M NOT GOING TO NOW I'VE SAID IT!!!!!!)
Enjoy new camera Siobhan ... sometimes I think it's just best to point and shoot rather than read!! What did you get hun?
Right I'm going to have a quick play and then I'm back to bed cos the screen is making my eyes hurt! Oh god, I hope it's not an age thing!! LOLOLOL!!!

Hey ho, I know it'll go and I'm thanking anyone and everyone who's listening for the healing at the mo let me tell you!! *giggle* LOL!! It's just nasty ... Doh, missed the chat and the RAK:P I'll read your blog in minute Katy;)
I've been playing with my camera tonight, but DH has not proved to be a very good subject as he is sat on the sofa playing golf on the PS3 - hardly makes for exciting photographs:lol:
Glad to hear your headache is on the move Sal, fingers crossed it goes right away:wub:
Reading a good book Dawn? I've started reading again as it doesn't require as much energy as scrapping:lol:

Afternoon all.
Just popping on to say HI!! Busy girlie at the mo. Head still hurting ... but it WILL go eventually.
Glad you've sorted the camera Siobhan, and if you're after a really compulsive read, I recently read A Thousand Splendid Suns (or something like that!!) and it was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT ... I was actually sobbing at the end. It's quite easy to read, but the subject matter is quite heavy. BRILLIANT. Just started to read KiteFlyer (or whatever it's called) after finishing Chinese Lovers Dictionary (which is jolly funny!) ... I love reading!
Hope you all have a lovely day.
Catch you tomorrow - out tonight.

Evening all, hope everyone is okay- it's very quiet on here:unsure:
Sal - I have 'a Thousand Splendid Suns' sitting on the shelf to read, and I've also read 'The Kite Runner' (found it a very sad indictment of human nature:(, but at the same time it was a good read, thought provoking). Not heard of the Chinese Lovers Dictionary, sounds interesting though;)
Thanks for the update on the stash list too Sal, my mum is taking DS all weekend, so lots of scrapping time for me:D :D Just need an injection of mojo:lol:
Off to watch 'Pushing Daisies' now, then probably off to bed after. Catch you tomorrow:wub:

Congratulautions to Mark, Susie:D
Dawn - surely that can't be right? What if you use it to pay off some of the mortgage or something? You wouldn't have anything to pay bills then, would you? The DSS, or whatever they call themselves these days, can be so unrealistic sometimes. When I finished university, I went back
to live with my parents and tried to sign on whilst I was looking for work, but because I had left a bar job to finish my exams they told me I had intentionally made myself unemployed and therefore wasn't entitled to claim anything! I tried to tell them actually, my full time occupation had been as a student which had obviously now come to and end, but they weren't having any of it. Imbeciles:angry: Still makes me cross 14 years later:nono: Sorry to hijack:huh: Keep on at them, your DH has contributed enough to be entitled to more than the spotty jerks who've never worked a day in their damn lives. Sorry, this whole subject makes my blood boil:wacko: I'll go away and think calm thoughts for a bit...ommmmmm....

hiya hunnies!!
2 entrants are not in the poll, The LO's weren't linked here and when i made the poll i went through here{the common room}:( (I did post last month to remind everyone to link here because some were nearly missed last month.)
there's 31 votes already counted so am not sure if it's feasible(sp) to shut the poll and re start it with the 2 entries that aren't included, however it seems a shame that the hard will go to waste... also the time taken to do the challenge.
what does everyone think?? shall i close the poll and do a new one or shall I just leave the poll up as it is??
Please try and post your answer in the Common Room ASAP
I'll post this in the bradette team threads too incase anyone misses it!

NICE ONE SUSIE!! That's a lovely belated birthday pressie ... Congrats.
Siobhan - I lent the book to my FIL - he came round last night and said he'd cried at it too! It is AMAZING though isn't it. And as for the dole thing ... please .... S>T>O>P! I can't TELL you how much they wind me up. I got told at 16 years old when I was about to be made homeless, that THE only way I was getting any sort of housing was if I was pregnant - and the twinkies there actually told me to go and get pregnant. SIXTEEN. It does my head in. To me, if you work and contribute NI etc., etc., all your life, you're actually penalised for it. We are a nancy state and it gets right on my flaming nerves and that's why I want to live abroad cos I go STIR crazy at this country. (Right I'm stopping now!!!)
Bizarre "peachy" message ... not sure I like people just coming on in and posting!! LOLOLOL!!! Feel a bit violated! TEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!!

Does make you feel a bit exposed doesn't it? I googled myself (with my IRL name) the other day, and some links to this thread came up, so just remember that anything you post here can be read by anyone with access to the web:ph34r:
Even worse, I then googled my username ceruleanblue and there are quite afew of us out there on different forums - some of which I'm not sure I would want to be associated with:lol: If anybody was cyber-spying on me, they could make some drastic assumptions about what I do in my spare time:blink:

Siobhan ... that made me LOL!!! I've never thought of googling my user name, but I did google my name and came across some stuff that I posted on Bucks County Council website (allegedly their INTRANET!!!) when I worked there a few years ago!!
Really lovely though, I googled my Dad's name and found some photographs of him when he was really young, playing hockey at our club (we all played!). I cried for hours! Couldn't switch the screen off!! LOLOLO!!!!
Hope you all have a good day. My head is hurting again. Oh and I've got to go to hozzy tomorrow (girly stuff) in follow up to the op I had in december. Have a nice bath Katy, that seems like a really nice idea tonight. We have to pack DSs bags for his stay with Grandy & Grandy (48 hrs of bliss for me, tra la la la lee:D) Might see if I can fit a bath in after that's all done
thanks think i will need to scream:lol:he is now wide awake and keeps running about and shouting, will go up in a mo to sort him out:stop:
have a lovely bath katy, i love it when i use bathbombs from lush though, mmm lovely

We have a lush quite near. My DD loves it

I must be the only one who doesn't really like the bath bombs:wacko: It's fun to watch them fizz, but I much prefer a big pile of bubbles to hide under - it keeps the water warm for longer too:)
Magnolia & Silk sounds lovely Katy, think I might treat myself to some nice smellies for my birthday
SallyB
24-04-2008, 09:37 PM
See, I don't like them either ... but actually I don't like baths! I'm a shower dolly myself!! Ocassionally I'll have a bath but normally only when my back is in spasm!!
How's eveyone tonight?
Just going to put a thumbnail up in a mo, cos I've done my lo for the trading faces swap ... and feel REALLY nervous about it and just want to know what you think!!

Nice LOs Dawn and Sal. I think you had quite difficult photos to scrap Sally, and I generally find it difficult to use two photos on a LO. either one, or lots like Dawn had is much easier. I think you've done a fab job with it:D
Okay, gotta go and do something constructive about the packing, no time to do it in the morning

Thanks Siobhan. That means loads. Enjoy the packing .. and think of the time you'll have to PLAY!!!! How exciting .. only one more sleep and it's CC time!!! Wahooooooooooby!

Looking at it i think... 2 CJs 25 points each plus 25 for making one = 75.
2DLOs in CJs 40
1 mini book is 50
1 LO 10
= 175 if my brain is working ok. Will check it tomorrow when im more awake.

25-04-2008, 10:00 PM
I'm okay, struggled with going back to work fulltime, but I think that is mostly because I hate it there now, hoping there are some vacancies coming up in other departments soon :(
Also have to admit to becoming addicted to another website, I've been spending about 3-4 hours a day on Martin Lewis' MSE site, specifically to competition pages

Yup .. I got kicked off too. Blige!! HI AD!! How you doing? Doesn't sound good with the work thing hun. Hang on in there .. the op you had was a biggy and it's probably affecting you in ways not known to "man" kind!!! You know what I mean .. hormones and stuff. Chin up darling,.
I've subscribed to MSE for about 3 or 4 years now .. I reckon over that time following the relevant advice, I've saved about £4k. It's good!
Siobhan - it's ok, forget the tea .... I appear to have drunk the entire bottle of PG now!!! Ooooooooooop! Hic!"!
CC is crazy .. and the class which has just been uploaded is sewing .. I can't sew sober let alone drunk! LOL!!!! Anyone else having a go?
ceruleanblue
25-04-2008, 11:24 PM
Oh no Katy, hope you feel better soon so you can join in tomorrow:wub:
AD - can you change your plans? CC is great fun, and you get loads done because of the deadlines. Mind you, having said that I haven't done anything yet as I have been doing a CJ entry tonight.
Sal -I've downloaded the instructions, but like you i'm not sure about sewing this late at night (no PG consumed here though:lol)

Yeah, I've downloaded them too ... might doodle the stitching or stamp it!! LOL!! Anyway .. my head is killing (nothing to do with the pg honest ... its too soon!!!) ... so I'm off to bed .. and also this site keeps crashing and it's making me irrational! LOL!

Hey Dawn I think you're my twin at the moment:D That's exactly what I did (except I got woken up at 7.30am by the alarm as i forgot to switch it off after yesterday - doh!)
We had a lovely meal last night, then watched 'Pushing Daisies' when we got back. Is anyone else watching this? It's so funny, I  it. Went to bed after that, and slept like a log, I feel so much better today:) Still not much mojo. I also had to eat my dinner cold - I sacrified roast chicken to meet the deadline:lol:
All done for the CC now. A strangely unsatisfying experience this time around - very odd. I only got 210 points, Dawn you must have got way more than that? I just saw one post in a thread saying she had 510 points - you must have to be going non-stop to get that many:blink:

I'm ok thanks chumly. Just not in a crafty mood at all! Can't get myself motivated .... still got half of the Shimelle thing to do ...! God I'm crap at times! Hey ho ... other than that, I'm absolutely fine. I'm just looking through your gallery actually ... I love the Annette book Dawn .. that's GORGE. Well done you ... and if you did them in between sorting out the children .. well EVEN BETTER WELL DONE!

I thought Dawn had suddenly gained a grandchild too:lol:!
Well, my DS is back home and sound asleep in bed now. I'm pooped and he was only here an hour before he went to bed:blink:
I'm just pottering in my craft room, bobbing on and off here as it is too sloooow to be on here full time. I'd like to look in the galleries to see what other people did with the classes but it's driving me mad waiting for the pages to load. Anyone else having this problem?
