no, since having 2 slipped disks a few years back after having Dd2 and ending up housebound for a while, I'm very careful what I do now:D I might have had a go if, when you get to the other end, it didn't jolt you to a stop and then start bringing you back...was more worried about the jolt tbh...
Gotta get some stuff together to take to friend's tomorrow...got 2 footcare appts today around lunchtime, then letters to get done to tell custs our prices are going up a tad, and hopefully mum'sgonna come to ours and 'help' (read order about!!) DH to de-clutter more of the conservatory, take all the books off one bookcase and shift that into the conservatory so I can have another craft desk next to my existing one for my cricut and BIA and sewing machine...well, i can hope:D

This weeks challenge has been set by the Scrap & Tickle team.
In April 1581, the first circumnavigation of the globe was completed – although sadly, Ferdinand Magellan, the man who planned and led the expedition, never saw his goal.
So … use a map or plan of some kind on your LO = 10pts
The sailors must have sailed a lot of seas, so for using the colour blue = 5pts.
Use a hand-made embellishment = 5pts
Use ink on your LO (eg stamped image, inked edges etc) = 5pts
Use eyelets and/or brads - 5pts
might get around to this - inking is something I do without thiking, LOL:D brads? have 1000ssss!!!

Tut tut Gemma!
We've just pottered around today and don't seem to have achieved much. DD3 decided that she wanted to learn to knit, mainly because DD1 had been knitting with grandma last week. Well I don't knit, learnt when I was a child and could knit a rather wobbly scarf but that is the extent of my knitting skills. Ended up finding some knitting videos on YouTube and have now cast on 20 stitches and knitted a few rows so feeling quite pleased with myself - just got to show DD3 how to do it now (though DD1 said she would help, just she didn't know how to cast on).
Off to sort some food out now.
Still looking out for these extra classes. Not made planner yet though have printed off some bits I want to put in it so far, and think have sorted out a binder to alter.
Mrs_Waddington
14-04-2008, 07:06 PM
Ah Bless- I remember asking my mum how to knit! Thankfully she could point me in the direction of my grandma, never got the hang of it tho and probably have a matching scarf somewhere!!!!
Right off to Brownies! See you later!

I went to her bblog and didnt make any more sense to me!So I will have to see in the morning, If I am up that early!

You've both lost me! Think I'll have to PM you Hazel.
There was something in the CC Questions thread about extra classes (have a feeling Sarah had asked about it) and SB said there were more but she was awaiting details of supplies. And the timetable was meant to be up by today at the latest (according to SB at weekend), but no sign of this either.
Feel shattered so think will have an early night, just need to get some work finished then I'll call it a night.
Catch you all tomorrow.

The new kit is available now from shimelle.com, its amazing value cos the mm calender retails at between 7.50 and 9.00 alone!
Morning by the way havent finished first cup of tea so not properly awake yet
Hi Hazel
have you bought Shimelle's Kit?
Looks interesting.
Oh yes, the timetable is up
incalec
15-04-2008, 08:35 AM
Morning pippa, yep all bought, had a look at the sketch thats been put up aswell for the pre crop challange. Might have a go at that it looks nice.
I've missed the timetable though off for another look........
It's at the bottom where it says 'Threads in Forum'.
BTW pages in a CJ are worth 25pts however many you put in. so you get more for a DL.
Yes bought Shimelle's kit, serves DH right for going away. If I get bored I buy things. He's home today, I've missed the old *****. A week is long enought and he's been away for nearly two.
Got to get up as i have loads to do today and I have DGD. Her arm is getting better at last and she is starting to use it again, they still don't know what was really wrong.

Very strange about DGD arm, at least its getting better though.

Sorry you missed out on the kit - but did you get lots of crafting done with your friend? Are you now proficient with the sewing machine?
We're been out at friends all day. Just been playing with distress ink pads with the girls this evening - they're trying to do some ATCs for a Kids swap, so all had fun.

15-04-2008, 09:10 PM
back!
had agreat day at friend's...managed to get done my Trading pages CC swap LO - love it actually!! - and my cj page AND a page in my A-Z...as well as cuttng shapes and titles for me and friend and friend's DD on the cricut!!!!
gonna check out the points bit again tho' as I've only ever claimed 25 points per ENTRY in a cj...and am thikking surely my 5.something x 7.something A-Z should count as a lo...? havem#t counted any pages yet so am gonna add those on to this month's tally:D don't think I cliamed for making my cj last month, as was waiting to do the entry, so think it's 50 for the making and 25 for entry but it could be just 50 o/a so will check that out!! Used to know all this stuff by heart, LOL:D
must take a look at the timetable too..don't worry about it being packed, it always is! I've decided not to make up any class kits as I've done ths in the past and then not liked the actual LO - not liked sounds a bit harsh, but I only do ones I want in my album or would be agood learning curve, lol, so am gonna wait and see the LO of the classes forst and then decide if I wanna do each one...DEF wanna join in with Shimelle though:D
Just as well I missed thekit as I bought some more cutting mats yesterday which cost just a tad more than that!!
shall shut up now, lol, and go print off a timetabel - still gotta make my planner - am thiking of punching holes down the side of my folder with my cropadile...different anyway!!!
BFN!

Thanks Hazel, but I'm thiking I might just do mine like a journal...also have some file on desktop somehwer for templates for a calendar with a pic on...might see what thatcan do:D TBH idea of calendar doesn't appeal as much as detailing parts of life/surroundings, but will reserve judgement till I see the actual class details on Monday...but thanks for the offer matey!!
OK, found this re cjs...25 for making and 25 PER ENTRY - so whether it's slo or dlo doesn't matter...
and found this about an art journal, whicb is what I think my A-Z is, so am gonna count 2x25 once I have done my H page:D may try that tonite:D...KNEW it had to be worth something!!!!
2. Art & Circle Journals – You can earn 25 points for each Art journal / circle journal entry that you complete. An entry is whatever you enter into one persons journal be it 1,2 or even 4 pages not points per page completed. So you could do 1 page in one journal & earn the 25 points but in the next journal your entry could be 4 pages but this would still only be worth 25 points. The reason that Journals are worth more points than most other things is because they are more time consuming. An exception for Journals is when you start your own Journal then you would earn 25 points for making/covering/decorating the Journal & another 25 for completing your entry
3. Altered Book & Journals (not CJs) - We have decided to include these in the challenge & you need to score them on the team spreadsheet in the Circle Journal column. Each 4 pages of an altered book or journal will be worth 25 points.
off to put some points in my siggie:D
oh and have you all put details of cj in your profile?!

Hello!!! Well just got home to find out about the shimelle kit and would have liked to get that one but never mind. Not long ago I brought dome calendar thingys so might make my own with my BIA. Will she put all the instructions on her site I wonder? I dont know if my little brain can cope with work and the CC so much seems to have happened and I have missed it all LOL!
Am taking my laptop in to school tomorrow to have it reformated in the hope that, that will sort out all the probs. Am a bit apprehensive as Im not very good at anything remotely technical!! Will have to re-install internet again I guess so might be a while before I can get on again. It took ages last time to set up!

Hi Good luck with the laptop, I know its such a pain reloading everything, esp when have loads of programmes!
Yep, I have seen a few classes I want to take, so am getting a few bits in, not what the classes call for, more just what I like.
Sarah, some of the virus's get though anything, What programme do you have?
Shimelles class looks good, something I can cope with as It goes on longer than a few hours!
Rachel
Morning All
I managed to get Shimelle's kit yesterday because I was having trouble sleeping the night before and was reading the forum when the post went up which was quite late. I think I am going to enjoy this one. Never done one of Shimelle's classes but they are always so different.
The timetable is just so packed but know which I want a go at. Put together kits for these but with stuff i like and mostly have in my stash. If they don't go together tough, the scrap police will have to come an arrest me.
Going to my first crop tonight, if I get myself together. Need to decide what i am going to take with me. Thought I would use the kit that Rebecca provides and just take my tools and a few bits and photos this first time and then see what other take. There are loads of things to buy and cutting machines etc to use, so that in it self is a learning exercise.
see you all later to tell how I got on.
BernieTuffs
16-04-2008, 09:22 AM
morning!
Sarah, SCAL looks almost the same as CDS so if you use that you'l be fine. It's a bit slower coz it has to 'find' the font, but that's ok. I actually find it a tad easier in respect of the CDS I can never seem to get the 'cursor' to move wround, but on this, one click and it's where you want it! that could just be me though:D I just love the thought of being able to cut anything...I haven't investigated saving these svg files yet...bet there are some of those on the forum where peeps are sharing their creations, so I really need to know what to do with those...and at some stage I will have a go at inkscape - think that's a free downloadable prg for creating own designs.
The only prob for me and someone else mentioned it too, is that you don't get a preview of the font before choosing it, like you do when you're in word document say, so if you pick the wrong one or it's not what you want, you have to look again...Mon I decided it was easier for me to open word and go through fonts that way to choose what image I wanted and then go straight to it in SCAL:D
Think you can have it on 2 pooters but it must not be used on both at the same time...
Not sure what else to say about it really...it welds and does shadows (haven't done shadows yet though!)...really just like CDS but with different images, LOL:D You have to have a cart to put in but it can be any cart!!! doesn't matter!
OK, have to get DD1 to stables and then have one appt (we try not to work in school hols)..then got a burfday card to make and a pressie toget, although if I'm lucky, DH will go get that while I'm out:D Then it's back to DD2 for a day of crafting hopefully...must post Trading Pages LO too:D
Hope everyone has a nice day! Will try and do my 'H' page in A-Z then will have another 25 points:D must take a look at this week's SAD challenges as well...like to print off the pagemaps...they're going in my altered folder if it ever gets done:D

Have a nice day, I am making a template book, athough I bought Princess, I thought that was a bit long for my first one, so have made my own(!) "Love" Drawing it freehand! So we will see how it turns out LOL I think the card is a bit thin. Off to work now, I will prob sneak on from there !

Bit miffed, couldn't go to my crop.I forgot DD had to go to Nottingham for a training course (she works for Boots) and her partner doesn't finish work until 6:30 so not here to pick up DGD until 6:45. Crop starts at 7 but at least 30minute drive. Never mind there is always next month.
Had a nice few days getting out and about with DGD, weather has been beautiful here. When to a local gardens yesterday where they have loads of peacocks, got some great photos.

Yes, Shinelle did say we'd get a pdf file today but nothing has appeared here either. I'm doing her No Place Like Home class at the mo (or rather I'm printing off all the prompts and saving them 'til I have time to do them justice - they look good though!).
Been to visit friends in Bournemouth all day, had a nice time at the beach and 2 of my children went "paddling" and were wet up to the neck! Luckily I'm used to them and had fetched a change of clothes.
Not been back long so off to catch up with everything.

Evening all,
Im really late back from work tonight as last night was up til 2am trying to sort out my laptop!!! It has decided that it cant cope with all my demands! I want to use to many programs at once and have nearly maxed out the memory, so I have been out and totally blown my budget and bought myself a new laptop! Massive screen aswell so can see Design Studio and SCAL easier!
I am just going to slowly transfer stuff over from the old laptop (using now!) to the new laptop! Not going to get rid of this laptop though as this one is more portable so will prob still use it!
I just need to get the hang of Vista now, so used to XP and we are still running windows 2000 at work.
It sounds like everyone else has had a busy day aswell!
dizzyblonde82
16-04-2008, 11:46 PM
Bernie, I have just downloaded a free programme called AMP Font Viewer, it allows you to test all the fonts on your computer and help to see fonts before you intsall them and also makes it easier to sort and remove fonts.
I have managed to do one cut last night with SCAL but then laptop went all funny so now loading it all onto new laptop, might get something cut tomorrow though!
BernieTuffs
17-04-2008, 08:57 AM
so did you buy SCAL then Sarah or are you using the trial version which cuts everything in 3?!!!!
Pippa, it's a shame about your crop...you should've gone though - 15 mins late isn't a prob...sure they'd still be glad to have you then!!!
LOVE peacocks too - always seem to manage a pic of them when we go to Wingham Wildlife Park - they have loads there - reckon about 8 males, but females too which have littl'uns every year!
Know what you mean about men - mine's driving me mad today already! Thank goodness he's going into school for the day tday to do paperwork and goodness knows what else (think they all congregate there in the hols and have a big party acualy, as he always comes home and says he didn't have enough time to finish it all!!!!!)
Antoinette's panicing coz she's got a trial run and the D test she's doing on Friday - it's only with the Head Girl at yard and obviously designed to help them where they ened it, but think she's worrying about the real Pony Club examiner coming in and what's gonna happen as wll...so she's being all weird this morning...honeslty! can't believe when she took the 11+ test she went in to school a little bit nervous but mostly excited and very very calm, and now this that doesn't matter really except to her (!) is driving her potty!!
Course Evie's picking up on all this, so is manic as well, lol, so I'm sitting downstairs and leaving him to it upstairs:D Got a headache coming already though, so that's not good...not slept well the past 2 nights:(
NEW LAPPY! Great news:D Vista hasn't been a prob for me...haven't found that much different really tbh...installing fonts is a little diff but not saving all my nice new fonts on lappy so doesn't matter!!!Might give that font viewer a go - so would I be able to open that and see each font before clicking on it in SCAL?
OK, best go get some coffee!!
have anice day gals!!!

Morning
Day off from DGD today. DD's partner is only working set hours at the moment, Mon,Tues Wed one week and Thur, Fri, Sat the next so I know where I am with days. Don't have her now until next Thursday, unless they want to go out and then she will stay over.
Been catching up on my sleep now that DH's home, never sleep well when he's not here. Went to bed last night at 9 and went straight to sleep didn't wake until 8am. So I am full of beans this morning. At least DH didn't bring home piles of washing, put it in the hotel laundry, all his shirts nicely ironed on hangers in little plastic bags. Wonderful!
Nearly completed pre-crop wk2 LO and also started the wk3 challenge. I haven't finished CJ yet, can't decide on how to get peeps to sign in, but few ideas.
Suppose I better get up and go shopping, nothing to eat in the house. Well not true but nothing I fancy.

Bernie - I did buy the full version of SCAL, think it is going to be fab to use! The font veiwer is really easy to use and you can see the full list of fonts and preview them in word and can actually see a full page of all the different fonts at once so you can pick and compare them easily before using SCAL.
I better get on with some work now!

grrrr and I thought the day couldn't get any worse:(
have had DN so my sister could rest today as nt feeling great and she and my youngest DD have done really well all day playing and doing a concert etc etc...now they've had a blow-up, pretty much to be expected for kids after a whole day together, but MUM (ie. my mum!!) is sitting taking the p*ss out of my youngest for sucking her thumb...she's on the sofa with me, obviously tired out...can't believe it!
could tell you a story there about double standards for my sister and me and now for our kids, but I won't bore you all!!!! shall just say I am so determined not to have favourites when I'm a Grandparent!!
OK, off to nosey around while all is quiet:D

Really weird, but I can't wait to be able to clean the floor in there, LOL:D It's stone tiles, really lovely floor, but def needs a good now, as its only really been used as a throughfare for the last goodness knows how long:D
Think the plastering will need a touch up too, and a nice lick of paint..gonna see if my friend's hubby can do that soon...don't think he's got much on atm so maybe he could do it next week....thatd be good...it's been lovely and warm in there today, and Dd2 loves playing barbies out there - even by herself if I need to escape!!!

Evening,
Just finished packing for going to a wedding tomorrow, having a chinese takeaway now. Finished the weekly challange earlier this evening and have claimed 20 points (didnt use eyelets or a handmade embellishment).
Happy Birthday to Rachel for tomorrow, Hope you have a good day and get spoilt.
cant believe its only 9.30 am sooo tired. Might stop up and watch ER but on the other hand have got to be up and out the house for six tomorrow morning so could do with a early night.

Well done Hazel. Hope all goes well at the wedding tomorrow. If you didn't catch ER it was pretty sombre, especially after last week's hockey match! But it's repeated on Saturday isn't it?
My 2 eldest are both taking part in the Kids team swap which was fine with DD2 as she has been building up her own stash collection. But DD1 just uses my stuff whenever she wants to scrap - so has made up her stash swap from all my stuff - grrr! We've been making some journalling blocks for the swap tonight, used some lovely Autumn Leaves journalling stamps I splashed out on a couple of weeks ago - really nice.
I'm off to the 2nd part of the Distressing Techniques workshop I went to tomorrow - not sure what we're doing but will be playing with crackle paints at some point - should be fun.

Have a good wedding and I am sure you will look great in your new dress!
I paid for my lovey dovey kit today, its made me feel much better about the other one. Maybe I will give them both a go, depending on Time! Maria said she will get it out straight away! Thanks.
Tracy have fun tommorrow, I love the look of the crackle paints it looks so easy, Let me know how you get on, and when you come home and decide to buy some online as you thought they were great, be sure to tell me where the bargains are again!!!
Bernie and Gemma, I hope its only window shopping! I have got to be good, but its so hard around the CC with all the kits and the 20% discounts!
Hope everyone else is ok.

Im still sat at my desk with two laptops trying to move everything from one to the other but old laptop not helping as keeps freezing and crashing!
I have used distressed crackle paint to alter a desk organise, the paint was really easy to use and crackled fab until I picked it up and it started flaking off! I posted in the general area for help and solved the problem by painting over the crackle paint with watered down PVA glue and it worked a treat!
I am going to go to bed soon as have a bad day ahead at work tomorrow! I have been arranging 30 people from another department to go on a training session and it turns out that people are being less than co-operative and I am now looking at a £1,000 cancellation charge being applied to our team account! Im glad its friday tomorrow!

Now the birthday bunny told me that it is someones birthday! Happy Birthday Rachel!!!! Have a fab day!!!
Well my car has to have its MOT today so I am keeping everything crossed that it will pass without any work. School are also interviewing for a new yr 2 job today. I am really hoping that they choose someone my age who is a bit lively as they will be my neighbour and I am not the quietest person!!! They wil have to get used to my singing quickly :)
Anyway have a good day everyone!!!

Yeah, happy birthday Rachel, hope you have a great day.
Had fun at the workshop this morning. Can't remember who had problems with crackle paint falling off, but Jenny who ran the class reckoned this can sometimes happen if the paint dries to quickly (like if you used a heat gun to dry it). She's been invited over to Ranger next June to do a 2 day course with Tim Holtz and will then be a qualified Ranger teacher - sounds cool.
I came home with some gorgeous penguin stamps - think they are Imaginise - so sweet - penguin in shorts and penguin in a hula skirt! Can't imagine what I will use them for but so cute...! Couldnt resist them for 99p each though.
Happy birthday Rachel, hope you have loads of lovely pressies and lots of pampering.
I've been in my space for hours and haven't done anything. Well cleared out a chest of drawers full of sewing stuff. Got rid of all the rubbish I have been saving, 'just in case'. Found stuff I had forgotten about, put out some knitting I started about 2 years ago, might have a go at that again. Now I have one whole draw to fill up again.
Oh yes, my Shimelle kit arrived this morning but haven't opened it yet. Looks like I might have to buy some co-ordinating cardstock. I only have neutral colours and it looks like I might need something a little brighter.

JUst back from town - dd1's glasses needed adjusting after a collision on a friend's trampoline!
The Shimelle kit is gorgeous, really looking forward to getting started with it. Yes, the calendar is bigger than I thought too - in fact when I saw the details I thought it was a typo at 15x7 and should be 5x7, but no it really is 15x7. If you don't have the kit, sure it would be easy enough to make something similar with a BIA, especially as the instructions include using PP to cover the calendar part.

I have survived today at work and am now going to sit down and finish my CJ book and start my entry in it! Does anyone know any good sites with pictures on of CJs, i need a bit of help with the inside front pages and also the signing page!

morning!
sorry can't remember Rachel, do you have a BIA already?!
or if you fancy the Shimelle class, sourcing one of those 15x7 or whatever size they are...things...she's using?!!!!
erm...a stack of pp? any new out ranges you lurve??!
pile of basics....new trimmer/pp/ c/s in bulk/adhesives/tapes ??
some of that bazill bling c/s...used that for my Shimelle Christmas journal...truly scrummy!!
it's hard to think when you have got the money but as soon as you haven't there's suddenly loads of stuff you need!!!!!
busy morning for me again today...take DD1 to stables again in amo, then go buy her friend a card and pressie, then get me some new cheapie trainers from ASDA (and now DD2 has decided she wants to come with me shall have to find a way NOT to let her spend money, LOL) then back for DD1's lesson, then home to get her sortted for the friend's burfday party and sleepover, which she now doesn't wanna stay for (!), then take her there...then I'm not sure what's happening for the rest of the afternoon, as can't think that far ahead:
DD1 was pleased - she passed her D test at riding yesterday - funny gal, she actually seems to enjoy tests, LOL! I was like that by the time I was doing my A levels but not at this age:D so this morning we should be picking up her plaiting badge which she did a test for a few weeks ago, and her D test badge - then someone has to sew those onto her Pony Club jumper:D Think that could be a job for DH!!!:D Shame I haven't used my sewing machine yet:D
best off, DD2 struggling with one of her buckles!!

I'm having a mild panic - we are visiting my family as we have a naming ceremony to attend on 4 May, had planned to then stay up for a few days after this. This would fit in with getting the mini book done for a pressie for naming ceremony and CJ done and posted on time. BUT have just discovered that dh has a meeting on 6 May and we need to travel back on 5th for that. (DD2 not too happy as that is her birthday and doesn't really want to spend 6 hours of it stuck in car (and maybe longer as it is a BH).) We also wanted to catch up with people we haven't seen for a while so decided to go up early, probably Wednesday before. So that means I've got this weekend to try and get mini book finished and lots done for my CJ (not done anything yet, just gathered some stash), and next weekend I'm hoping to be tied up with the cybercrop. Also want to get my MK project done, having spent so long trying to come up with an idea I'll feel a bit miffed if I don't then get it done. ARGHH, can someone give me some extra hours in the day please???

DEPP BREATH!!!
Maybe you shoud make a list...I know you know what's to be done, but could you list exactly what needs to be done with each so you have an idea how complicated it's gonna be...
do you have an idea for the cj? just do that quick...doesn't need to be perfect, and worst comes to worst, you can always leave your pages till it comes home...just put post it notes on so a space is left for you or something:)
MK I can't help you with:D but have you got pics sorted? Maybe if you leave the pics sitting on the pp it will imspire your creative juices and a lo will comje together extra quick?!!!!!:D
Can't provide extra hours but can spare a {{hug}} while you have your cuppa:D

Afternoon all,
I have now done the cover for my CJ and also the signing in page! It actually came together really well when I just relaxed and my cricut actually did nearly all the work!
Bernie - SCAL is excellent, I did the lettering for the CJ on it and managed to weld the letters and cut out a different coloured shadow! It is really easy to use and have starting looking at downloading some fonts, lots of the dingbat fonts have really nice swirls and flourishes in which will be fab for layouts! I can see my need for buying cricut cards going down, more money for other stash then
Hope everyone has a great day! Im off to my mums to give her a crash course in using vista and to set up her wireless modem!
Have to go to my uncles as well as my camera is still with Kodak and they aren't being helpful in telling me how much longer I have to wait to get it back so my uncle is lending me his camera to take some photos on the 25th for Shimelle's class. Also found out he has a memory card full of photos of DS which will come in very handy for the CC next week! I think i will have to spend some time getting photos ready tonight and tomorrow!
Hope everyone has a great day,

Had the new K&Co mira range arrive this week and have used them for my CJ, wonderful bright colours.

Hiya I am back from my crop. Had a lovely time but had a bit of a headache so didnt get loads done really. Took full advantage of the cricut tho and cut out lots of titles etc for mini books that have been waiting to be finished!!!!
DH cooked me a lovely tea but has had to go an lie down now as he's not feeling too well :(So I am just sat watching the Grinch- yes the Grinch!!!! Not sure why ITV2 have put it on in April maybe its because its only 250 days til christmas! (By the way I am not really sad and just sat here working it out was reading someones blog which had a count down on to christmas 08!:) )
Am going to finish off the title page and maybe even cut my pages tonight. I am trying to think of jobs I can do downstairs with DH when he gets up as would feel a bit bad hiding myself away after being out all day and spending his money!!!!

Hi, I havent decided but want.. the sassfrass dearest, crackle paint, ect. But most places dont sell everything I want. I will often spend £20 and £10 like they are going out of fashiion and spent £40 in the scrap shop yesterday but the fact my mums buying it I feel odd like I should buy something worthwhile and planned not just my usual on the spot buying? weird.
Gemma sounds great the crop. I had been invited to one next sat 26th !!! CC day, so decided to stay at home instead. Glad you had a good wedding Hazel. Nice to see (?) you Jane. Now how can I get rid of my oH next week end (answers on a post card...)
And you cricut owners and players seem to be having lots of fun with it!
Tracy its fun when you find new photos! You will def have enough to keep you going over the crop.
So what about the fact I am quite a slow scrapper, how does that work with the crop, It sounds like alot of it races past pretty quick!

Hi All -
Whats everyone up to today? Am going to try and make a start on my MK LO.
Rachel - I know what you mean about the money, its different when its someone elses money your spending!
The CC does seem quite fast paced but i wouldnt worry about not getting a LO finished after all its supposed to be fun.
I took part in a PIF on the swaps/pif thread on the 10/4 and i still havent received the bits and pieces. I dont want to bother the person who posted the PIF but i've already sent mine off etc. I've PM'd the person concerned but didnt get a reply despite her being online when i sent it! Its put me off doing another one.

Morning Hazel, something similar happened to me but it was a RAK and not a PIF, but I never got the item either. I suppose its not nice to think this way but not everyone is as honest as others, I would keep PMing her and if nothing comes of it maybe leave negative feedback.
Not got a lot planned today. Off to church in a wee while and then the rest of the day is free. Managed to complete my title page last night but really need to start on the inside of my CJ. Cant believe how quickly the date has come around. I made my book ages ago and then left it as I thought I had forever to do the rest!!!

I spent most of last night printing out photographs ready for next weekend, have had to order more ink just incase the photos dont work for the classes.
Its really miserable here today, Im just off into Blackpool to get some new clothes and bits and bobs ready for our holiday! We booked over a year ago and it has come round so quickly and we are not prepared for it at all!

Hope your PIF turns up soon Hazel - but if not, then def. leave some type of feedback, does seem strange that they didn't reply to your message.
Hope you have fun shopping Sarah - sun still shining here, have hung washing out (so maybe that counts as my fresh air for the day!). I've finished the mini book and am quite pleased with it - hope they like it. Will try and upload some piccies later. Just off out to Hobbycraft to try to get a white Staz On ink pad for my MK project - and pop in to pet place next door to get sawdust and coo over small furry animals.

SUN!!! You must be pulling my leg it is horrible here. It has been very wet and very grey since I got up :( Glad you have some sun tho down south! I could do with a nice day to dry th washing. DH is painting the hall way again (after painting half with Matt and half with silk a couple of weeks ago- totally my fault tho as I brought the paint!) and I am running out of places to hang the washing!!! I have now set up camp in the living room as still have all my stuff in totes from y'day so have spent an hour or so covering my 'love' word book. Takes ages tho and fed up with it now!!!
Hi Everyone
It has been a beautiful day here, got loads of washing done and gave the house a mini spring clean. Don't have DGD until Thursday so rest of the week to myself.
I have a condition, it's called starting mini books but not finishing them. I have four on the go now and really need to finish them so I can claim all those points. Not had a good month LO wise. Really hope next weekend will boost the tally.
Glad you enjoyed the wedding Hazel. Haven't been to a wedding in ages.
It's hard spending money when you have been given it for a present, you want to get something special.
Oh no it's raining! Must get the last of the washing in. See you later.

Yep, raining here too - looked very grey when on way back from Hobbycraft so rang dh and got him to take washing in, just in time too! Saw the new RUB 12x12 filing boxes, very tempted as all my papers are in pizza boxes, but decided to wait until I got paid - of course got home to find that I had been paid this afternoon! Oh well, will get one, or maybe two, soon.
Managed to get some white Staz On - or rather I think I have, they only had white opaque, is this the only white Staz On you can get??? Never used it before but need some ink for the MK project and want to use it on acetate. Have been struggling to find a white pen that is suitable for writing on acetate too, hope I got one that works, must try it later.

hello!!
first time I've been able to get on pooter!!
Church at 9.30am, then on to pick up Dd1 from sleepover, then home and had lazy afternoon in pjs with DDs catching up with Dr Who and Oliver from last night, then gals been on pooter and lappy, and then Dd2 been over the park, and I had snooze(:o), and now Dd2 crashed on sofa again and DD12 still on lappy; DH making dinner so I' on here just for a minute!
Had thick fog most of morning, then sun came out and it's been lovely blue skies all afternoon!
Friend loved the word book I made for her DD's burfday and would now like on for her 2 brand new twin nephews and the 2 yr old sister of them, so gotta start planning those...hopefully I can just save as the one I did before and just change the letters,as that first one took me hours!!!
They had cricut (the small one) on Ideal World/C&C today...picked up a couple of tips, and noticed theysell the 12x24 c/s. talking of c/s, if anyone wants a started pack of 12x12 in lots of colours have a look on the C&C site (channel 661 on sky!!) as they have a pack of 50 sheets for £8.99 and no p&p atm - ordered one for myself:)
OK, gonna get on before dinner's ready!
So NOT ready for going back to school tomoorw...need a rest to get over these holidays, and w've got such a busy week footcaring! Never mind, it'll help to pay off the cricut faster:)
BFN!

Evening all,
Got a few bits ready for my holiday and saw some other things but decided to order them online as much cheaper with some discount vouchers I found!
I taped Ideal world show to watch later as Melanie who was presenting with Stephanie Weightman runs the crop I go to in Preston! Did notice that things were v pricy on the show though! 12x12 cardstock sounded good though!
Its finally stopped raining here but is very overcast and dull!
I could do with some 12x12 storage, the pizza boxes arn't really very attractive are they!
What is everyone doing this evening? Im at my mums at the moment waiting for DH to finish work!

You have been busy Bernie!!!
Wonder if anyone can help me. I have cleared some stuff out to try and sell on the marketplace and just wondered how you went about submitting your post. Do you just click on new topic or do you have to pm your post to the marketplace organiser? Read that your stuff has to be approved but just wondered how you did that! Dont want to get in trouble now!!!

LOL I ordered the pink paisley a couple of weeks ago without noticing the pre-order bit!
Me and DH are going to Lanzarote, we have a mate who runs a bar over there that we haven't seen in a while!
The world really is a small place though as the person DH took over from at his new job is on a flight to Lanzarote on the same day just 2 hours later than us! DH has arranged for us to meet up with him for a night out! Have met him breifly on his leaving do last week and seems nice so should be fun! Plus it means someone other than DH to talk to for a bit :P I probably sound awful saying that!

So Sarah is he good looking? Thats the question! The world is a small place. I was on here a few weeks back looking in the gallery and saw a LO with this lil girl that goes to playschool with my twins, It turns out that this girls aunt is on here called angi she is on the mojo blog and writes for the mags. so I have been messaging here and chatting, and chatting to her sister who lives down the road! they couldnt understand how I knew it was this lil girl!
I decided not to go to playgroup this am as its really bad weather! Too much to do..

hi everyone!!
I'm SO disorganised, I haven't any pics ready for the C|C - haven't decided which classes as I like to see the Lo first, so I have to use some of my time printing pics:D
Must take a pic of my word book...hoping to stickin the pics this Weds...
Had 5 footcare appts today which is a lot for us, but managed to sneak in half hour for lunch and 15 mins for a cuppa mid-morning, so not feeling too done in!
kids happy...thought they'd be reaslly tired and grumpy after forst day back but they#re happy and co-operating!! lovely! And Dd2's class teacher is striking on Thursday we've just been told so she's not going in to school, but DD1 IS:o She;s got SATS coming up so I s'pose they're making the effort for them! Mind you I'm not begrudging the teacher striking...I don't tend to like strikes as they get 'outsiders' backs up - ie anyone who isn't in the profession...when I was in the Bank, we did a work to rule rather than strike, and it was FAR more effective, as it became obvious very very quickly just how much work was being done voluntarily!!
What is not realised I think about teachers is that they don't really have set hours, so you can't say well work your 37 hours a week and then leave everything else...dunno about you Gemma, but my DH is often up till 2am doing reports and other paperwork stuff (Mind you he does Inset (staff training) and now has HOD responsibilities, so has added pressures)...then people begrudge them the 6 weeks off in the summer!
I just hope it does some good, as that pay rise % is pathetic! t's such an important job (must be if the Gov has to set so many targets to make sure standards are met, LOL)...I'd best shut up:D:D:D
Bought a pack of creamy pps in Wyevales the other day and am desperate to use them and ink them all up with my new chestnut roan chalk ink pad:D So have just managed to prit off pics of DD2 sitting on this enormous throne from 1066 that they have in the play area at battle Abbey...done them in colour and in sepia to see which suits best...DD2 can have the spares then!!
OK, will go take a pic of my word book before I have to cook dinner for DH & mysrlf...made the kids tuna and mash & veg for speed as they wanted to do cooking, then they've decided they can't possibly cook anything as they *neeeeed* more ingredients (for that read chocolate!!), so DH and I will eat a bit later than them today!
BFN!

Its fab Bernie! Will put my pics up when I get back from Brownies. I really struggled to ink the edge of the pages tho in the middle of the letters. Could have done with using a tear shaped ink pad but didnt have one in the colour I wanted. What did you use Bernie?
I am in the NUT but have chosen not to strike for a couple of reasons. My head is a beast when she wants to be and seen as I am the youngest member of staff and the only member of the NUT within the school I just dont fancy taking her on as she can make your life hell. She once riped me to pieces in front of all senior member of staff for asking for a new pencil sharpner- so goodness knows what she would do if I went on strike! (Should explain that in her words ' she doesnt believe in striking and what excatly do I expect to achieve other than disturb the childrens already poor lives!' Guilt trip or what! I do feel bad that I am not supporting the action but I am supporting them in other ways.
Anyway saying that, on the other hand she does have a very good work ethic and has been known to take work off people as they leave to stop them doing stuff at home. I know I am very lucky as much of the teaching proffession (such as your husband Bernie by the sound of it!) have to do an awful lot at home but I do minimal really. A lot of the paper work that my friends have to do is often just a waste of paper and time~ number crunching isn't what I went into the proffession for so its nice I just get to concentrate on the teaching bit. As long as I get the results I am happy!
Anyway off to Brownies see you later!!!!
BernieTuffs
21-04-2008, 07:17 PM
yep, thats' what Dh saying - hsi school not 'doing' the strike either!
It never cases to amaze me that year upon year the amount of paperwork stuff increases! All the new terchnology, but whatever is done on pooter must be 'proved' by a piece of paper, lol, just how it used to be in the Bank!!!!
mind you DH is 2ndary (senior dept) in Special school so may be diff...
Right!!
gals with no kits, have you seen this???

Evening all.
Bernie - your book is fab! how did you manage to cover the letters so neatly? The Shimelle class does cover the calender part of the book!
Gemma - the teachers stike is hitting our office hard! nearly all the people I work with have children in schools where the teachers are striking! I used to work for HMRC and decided to work when lots of others were on strike, it was horrible as they were picketing outside the building and people shouted really nasty stuff at those who decided to work! At the time I couldnt afford to strike as it was without pay and I was also in the middle of applying for a contract extension!
I have some pictures ready for the cc but am struggling with one of my wedding photos, I am trying to get it into black and white but finding it really hard!
Me and DS are just having tea and watching the rubbadubbers!

Hi All,
Lovin the mini book bernie, gorgeous. thought you must have been doing the feet today as you've been very quiet.
Gemma if it counts for anything i think the decesion you made is a good one.
Ont he subject of inking edges if you use a bit of cut and dry foam and hold it with tweezers you can get into all the little nooks and crannies and you only need a tiny bit.
oh and Bernie the calender bit isnt at all necessary for the shimelle thing as its covered up by the pp.

Hiya I'm back. Left a bit early as couldnt take the noise a minute longer! Those girls were nosiy tonight!!!!
Thanks for the tip Hazel! Will try that next time cos it was a flippin nightmare trying to do it this time! Also thankyou for your kind comments on my decision not to strike. Some friends havent been too nice about my decision as they feel I am letting the side down but I have tried to see the bigger picture and as you pointed out Sarah its going to affect an awful lot of hard working people!
I love the idea of Shimelles project. I am quite glad now that I didnt get a kit as I am going to guite enjoy making my own book! Another good project for the BIA!!!

Gorgeous Bernie, Really good job! I have done one for my MK too!!!
I love the cut and dry foam, its so good, Although I dont know what the c + dry nibs are, anyone?
Can't wait to have a go on the crackle paints, I love things that "do things".
Gemma, I don't blame you either! I was exempt as I was pregnant when we last had a unison strike.
Gemma I used a teardriop chalk ink to do my O's.
Off to look at the shimelle instructions...
BernieTuffs
21-04-2008, 09:47 PM
Am totally inspired by the shimelle thing, so have picked 7 sheets of brown c/s, and am gonna follow the instructions and BIA them together! Then find shades of cream/light brown for the plain and use the cream/brown pp pack I bought for the patterned places...all nicely inked to death of course!!!
I use a mixture of cats eyes and teardrop ones, but generally just covered myself as much as the book to get it all inked, LOL:D
I preferred drawing round each letter and cutting it out then sticking down, but my friend found that harder and preferred to stick letter onto pp and then cut aorund that, but I found it hard to get close enough in to the letter that way...
each to their own!
just been checking out prices for our trip to Germany (speaking of which, *waves* to busy Lottie:D)....looks like £79 each way if we travel on a Thursday, so will prob go on 31st July and come back 6th August...not def yet but getting there!! So looking forward to seeing my friend's little girl who will be 2 in May...before she waas born, my friend had a baby girl who was sadly born with a defect of some sort which meant that she only lived for approx. one month...very very sad...thought she was very brave to have another child. I was a big enough wreck after having a miscarriage when I was 22...took me 8 years to be willing to try for Antoinette!!!!!
OK, gonna try and make my Shimelle album thingy while I've got some energy left!!!

Oh dear Sarah, hope tomorrow is a better day.
Those word books look really great ladies, feel inspired to try one myself. Did you use the ready made books or did you try the templates?
It feels like we've spent half the day sat in traffic - we were meant to be in Winchester for 10 am this morning for some science workshops but hit the motorway to find solid traffic and a journey which should have taken 3/4 hour took nearly 1 1/2. So DD1 missed the start of her workshop but we were all allowed to tag along for the other workshop instead. We were meant to be doing rockets but they decided it was too muddy to launch them outside so instead we made paper aeroplanes (well we were meant to be learning about flight, but don't think much of that went in, had fun flying planes though - they had an automatic launcher which was great fun, wonder if you can get them for home???). Then called at Hobbycraft on way home and treated myself to one of the new RUB 12x12 filing boxes and picked up a white pen which can write on acetate - only got home to discover we didn't have that and hadn't been charged for it so presumably DD4 (who was carrying it) put it down somewhere! Then popped in to Paper Mill Shop to see if they had any nice swirly stamps and got stuck in more horrible traffic - should have just gone straight home and missed the traffic as they didn't have any suitable stamps.
About to watch Saturday's Casualty with DD4 who managed to have a long nap through all the traffic and so is still up. Then maybe I'll do some cutting for my MK - eek!

I am fuming at mo - have spent the last few weeks trying to arrange some trampolining classes for our home ed group. This has involved being in contact with a woman at local leisure centre nearly every day, and we had discussed a start date of today - so why is it that today, the day we were meant to start, she now says that we can't have a session today as they haven't arranged for a coach to be available as I haven't signed the contract yet - at no point did she tell me that this would have to happen first!!!:angry::angry: So I've now got to try and ring round everyone who would have been coming today to let them know that it's not happening.
Hopefully be back later, calmer, much calmer...

Evening all,
DS was a total pain as when DH got in at 11pm last night he turned all the upstairs lights on and woke up DS who was then up til 1.30am screaming, managed to force him to have some paracetamol and he nodded off after that but had to sleep in our bed.
I have had a much better day today, work went really well and I managed to rearrange all the training without incurring a charge and have fully booked the first two courses!
I am sat having a nice brew and sticking down pp into calender book for Shimelles class, I have nearly finished preparing for the CC, have the whole weekend to craft without DS and DH is definately working!
It has been really sunny here today, went out for a meeting this afternoon and didnt want to go back to the office at 4pm but had to.
I have just had an email to say that my camera is on its way back to me so hopefully will have it by friday for taking the pictures for 'scrap your day'
Which classes are people doing on the cc weekend?

Yes, it has been a bit quiet lately. We seem to have been having a hectic week and were meant to be in Winchester again all day - really didn't feel like it, need some home time - so when dh said he needed the car I rather jumped at the chance to staying at home today!
I finally cut in to my MK last night - rather daunting, but feel better now that I've taken the plunge. I'm going to help the girls finish off their pre-crop challenge and then hopefully get mine done as well.
I was hoping to sort lots of photos out for the cc but haven't had chance - have a big pile to choose from or can always print more off on the day. I feel that I want to see the LO before deciding what photo will work with it.

Hi Rachel,
yeah i think Bernie will be joining cricut anonmous soon!!!!
I've bought some stash but luckily i had a lot of the bits needed anyway, and the stuff i havent got i will subsitute. I think once the class has actually gone up with a picture of the LO it will be easier to put papers etc together.
Ooo lovely new stash, did you get it from crafty stash? cos if you did mine might come today whoo hoo.
mumof4girls
23-04-2008, 11:06 AM
Yes, wish I had family close to do that with Hazel -main drawback about living so far from them. And sure the girls would love to sleep over at grandparents from time to time - but as they are a 6 hour drive away it's not really practical!
I think the girls are looking forward to it. They made swapped some ATCs which was fun, and have just got their stash swap parcels which they loved (I would have preferred it if they had had more of their own stash which they could have swapped rather than raiding mine - oh well, maybe one day I'll be able to raid their stash!!!). Trying to decide whether to let them do their first challenge on Friday as it is at 8.30 and I like them to be heading up to their bedroom at that time. Might have to see how well behaved they are on Friday ;)

Its good having mum and dad only a few miles good for last minute babysitting. The good thing about having your family so far away is that your time together is so special.
I'm dreading DD getting older and raiding my stuff she aleady uses my pens and paper, but at least its a hobby we can share.......
She normally does send out stuffi n pizza boxes rachel, perhaps she's run out. or with the discount it might not have been cost effective.
I need to find some matchboxes today to fill with nice goodies to send to the usa for a swap, i didnt reliase how rare they were till i started looking............

Could you make some match boxes Hazel? Sure I've seen them for sale on kids craft sites, maybe Baker Ross - but sure if you google for a template you'll find some and then can make them from white card (or whatever you card you have laying around). Right, muffins in the oven and a High School Musical LO on the table, DD2 wants a hand with cutting a piccie out so better get busy.
See you later.

afternoon everyone!!
yes, I was cricutting last night, lol:D Had to get the 3 word books for my friend cut for tonite as won't have time before I go to hers this evening...and then was trying to find a free football font, as it's friend's son't burfday on Sunday and he's footie mad! managed to find something in the end after much searching for just the right thing (which doesn't exist of course!!!) so cut a footie and then cut a shadow but have decided I'm gonna trim the shadow to the same size as the footie...stands up nicely so will be a card in itself:D
Been v busy again today with feet...have managed to rearrange all tomorrow's appts so have a free day tomorrow - well, as free as one can be with a 5 yr old in tow:D had ti LOL though as when I was saying that we culd do something nice if weather good, she asked if we could do some more sorting out of the conservatory!!!!! That's ma gal!!!
For my word book i used the template as a template and cut it all out of c/s then covered with pps!
have cut and BIAd my shimelle 6x12 jounral...pretty carp as BIAd it by eye as wanted 2 sets of 6 holes, and of course they didn't line up perfectly, so ended up cutting a half a cm off the long side, and then outting in a couple of extra (round) holes on 2 sheets...still, hioping that will all eb covered up with ribbons when it's finished and won't notice! Am thjiking it's gonna be all browns and creams, but thent hought about adding in some greens as well, as have some pps left of the same design and happened to buy some green c/s yesterday:D
Ooh , and managed to get, in WHS, some artists materials - they had acrylic paints and textured, acid free paper all half price. Got a big pad of the paper for £3 - 15 sheets but they're bigger than A4 size but not as big as A3...and got a smaller size c.10x15cm as well for £1.99...thought they'd be good for making my BIA creations with in future!! and 25 or so sheets of c/s fell into my basket...oops! well it was a lot of browns and creams for the Shimelle thing, and my pack of 50 sheets that's coming won't have that many of the same colour:D
OK, off for a quick nosey before school run...sorry to hear about your pesky woman Tracy, and don't talk to me about DHs!!!! Took my 5yr olf up to bed last hight and DH comes upstairs rummaging around in our room doing something...stoopid man, LOL:D Honestly, it's like having 3 kids sometimes!!
BFN gals - will try to get on before i go out this evening:D

Hiya!!! Hope you have all had nice days. Mine didnt start off too good. Woke up with a headache and really bad face pains. I get really bad sinus pain and its starting to flair up again. The only prob is, that if i still dont feel well tomorrow I will still have to go in as if I call in sick I could loose a days pay because of the blinkin strike! There is a chance tho that school may have to close tomorrow anyway as the electricity went off this afternoon and still hadnt come back on when I left! Caused quite a big prob tho as all the gates bar the front have got security thingys on, so when the elec went off they wouldnt work!!! Took ages to get rid of all the children lol!!!
Off to have a look at the stash needed for a few of the classes I have highlighted Xx

Evening all,
Ive had a good day at work and the weather has been fab here today.
I got caught out by DH today, I promised not to buy anything else until after our holiday but decided this morning that my cardstock was running very low so put in an order and added a few extra bits! All was going well until they called on our home number to let me know that 2 sheets of card were out of stock and the lady read out my whole order to DH to see if everything was on it !
I am going to carry on putting in the cardstock into my book for Shimelles class, the photo prompts sound very interesting apart from photographing the alarm clock might be a problem! I asked DH where our alarm clock was and he said it got broke when I threw it at him and missed last year
Gemma - hope you feel better soon, there are some nasty bugs about at the moment, my mum is at home with a flu type bug!
What is everyone doing this evening?
Hello Everyone
I have a whole heap of things happening here at the moment and I am afraid I will have to withdraw from the CJ. Sorry I am letting you down but I can't be sure I will be able to finish everyones entry. I probably won't be on the boards that much either for a while. Nothing horrid just time and energy consuming.
I might also be going to Australia with DD2, so I can visit DD1 and see here new house. DH has cooked up this grand plan.

Hello ladies,
Hope everyone is well today. Anyone got anything exciting planned? The girls have an art class this afternoon but otherwise have a quiet day planned. We managed to get 3 pre-crop challenges done yesterday - a LO for each of us, still working on my MK and need to get the Shimelle calendar done ready for tomorrow.

Hiya Ladies! Well things have gone in my favour today! School had to be closed to the children as there was no electricity, so I have had a very quiet morning putting up a dino display and we were allowed to come home at 1pm so now have the afternoon all to myself. Was ironic that we had to close tho on the same day as the strike!!!
DH has gone for an interview this afternoon for a job in Leicester as he works in Nottingham at the moment which is a long long drive for him. I have everything crossed that he gets it but am a bit worried about the hours he will have to work as there is a chance he will have to do some 4pm-12 shifts which means I wouldnt get to see him but hopefully he wouldnt have to do too much of those! Would give me lots of free time to scrap tho!

Hi, yes Pippa, I am not concerned, I am still at the very beginning, So really don't worry you have not let anyone down! I hope you have a great holiday and get to spend plenty of time with your dd's and dgd!
Lucky you Gemma! Cool to have time off, I ahve been "trying" to work at home all day, but that hasnt worked out as I cant log on to the remote server!
Bernie and Tracy, you sound busy too!
I am trying to get my calender done, but will just get it ready for this month.
I did manage to do a LO last night, I did it in 1 hour! gosh It usually takes me a few days or a week, just keep going back to it! I never know when to stop! It was because it was a scraplift from the scrapdreamie blog. I dont think I had done a scrap lift before but I will again as it was so quick!
sarah, I cant believe te shop rang you up and caught you out! Glad work was a better day for you! What is it you do?
I will have to be more careful!!! Never thought about that happening!
Hazel, hope you found the matchboxes, I should imagine making them might get time consuming?
Well have a nice day, I am off 40 miles to do a visit now, so late one for me.

Hi all -
Late logging on today as have been for a day out with mum and DD. went to cragside for a walk around the gardens. stopped off for lunch on way back and fed the ducks. Bought some postcards to end to a lady in crotia!!!!
Pippa dont be daft man, your not letting anyone don, CJ was and is just a bit of fun. Looks like you've got better things to spend your time on at the moment.
Sarah, Doh! to gettin caught out. oops.
Gemma - Glad your day went ok with regards to work/strike/not feeling well.
OH bought me the film @Enchanted last night so am just going to put in on now and reaD SI which has just arrived.

my SI was on the mat too!
Bought Enchanted for the gals day it came out but they haven't watched it yet:o
Got to do littl'uns spellings in a mo...she's got mature, insure, boil, tinfoil and one more...thought they were a bit above Yr 1...not moaning mind, as Im all for kids being stretched!! DD1 could have done with more stretching right from Yr R, but as she was waaaaay ahead of the class anyway, guess they thought it wasn't necessary!
OK, time to learn!!!

Gosh Bernie, I would have no chance of any of the children in my class spelling any of those!!! Still trying to get some of the children to learn their basic sounds!!! Your little one sounds like a right bright button!!!
BernieTuffs
24-04-2008, 07:32 PM
the last one was secure!!
as usual she had them down pat in 10 mins...read them, wrote them looking once, then tested her not looking at all but she knows she can if she needs to, but she didn't...she'd got 'em all by then!
Think actually she's jus like DD1 with a very very good memory...that helps so much!
not too sure if she understands the concept of insurance though, LOL:D

evening all,
Its been another sunny day here, started off absolutely pooring down though!
Lucky you Gemma, hope you used the extra time well!
Bernie, those words sounded like a challenge for children that age, I was never into spelling at school, now my spelling is okay just have problems with grammer now!
Rachel, I work for the NHS as a team secretary. Our team buy treatments from the private sector and sells them to the nhs at a reduced tarrif, so now you can choose to be treated in a private hospital and the nhs will pay. We look after catartact mobile units and mri units that move around the hospitals in our area. At the moment our team is helping 6 primary care trusts build 15 new gp and health centres, it gets really busy and very challenging but most of the time is enjoyable because of the people that I work with.
I seem to have been sticking down lots and lots of pp and cardstock into the album but still seem to have so much to do, DS was trying to help cut cardstock last night so he slowed things down a bit.
I have a dilema tomorrow as they tried to deliver my cardstock parcel today and they wont redeliver until monday now and I wont be in again so then they will send it back to the sender, I can go and pick it up after work tomorrow but not sure as want to be back intime for the cc!

Glad she's coping well with the spelling, those def. look harder than Yr1. Mine have all been quite late readers so far, but we've been very laid back about it as there is not the same
