I did even less than usual, but it was great to meet Alison.
Have to admit to calling in at the Co Op for a bottle of vino on the way home
Got a tune in my head....anyone care to sing along??? 'Alice is a camel, a camel, a camel....' ( or haven't you heard that one???)

Hi All,
Home safe and had a lovely time, it was great to meet Jen and Ali, and Im looking forward to the next one!
Jen managed to convince me (as if I needed any convincing) that buying tools is not stash shopping, as you need the tools to use the stash! Thanks Jen - when I told DH when I got home, he said he hadnt noticed I was on a stash diet in the first place! I dont know why I bother! However, working on the if we both scrap (and we do) then half the stuff is his (in principle - he can use the stuff I dont think I ever will), meaning, I obviously have only got half the stash I thought I had, and probably need to go shopping!!!!!!!
Ali and I didn't do as much as the very industrious Jen today, but I definately saw that she had indeed glued at least one photo onto a mat, and she did help a lot of us with the bind it all, which would under other circumstances have allowed her time to do a couple of LO's!
As for the cookies - they seemed to go down very nicely <LOL>

Hi Hils - Happy Birthday!!!! Lovely camera you lucky girl!!!! Its funny you should say that, because Ali and I both said 'Is Alice the camel a real song' too. Jen was saved on the day by a 9 year old girl who said Oh yes I know it, we learnt it at school!
Sonia - hope you had a good time at Ally Pally!
Oh and Jen also helped me to work out that I need a cuttlebug, a Bind it All, a cropadile, some sparkly gems and lovely flowers <LOL> did I forget anything Jen? You know I dont know how I have managed to do as much as I have with so little stash - now I have realised that only half of it is mine!!!!!

Afternoon Everyone
Having a nightmare with my mobile, have only had it back from repair just over 2 weeks, and it doing the same thing again. It is the touch screen, and it has a mind of its own, and deciding to send texts without me doing anything. Tried to get them to give me a totally different make of phone, as having read all the reviews of my handset on 02, it looks like a common fault. But no, I have to have had 3 new handsets before they give me a new make of phone ... grrrrr.
I specifically picked this phone as it has a great 5 megapixel camera and dont want a lesser one ... so hopefully the new phone will work!!
Was going to do some scrapping this afternoon, buit have to go and get E in 40 mins ... so will have to wait until this evening ... grrrrr!!
Hope everyone is having a stress free day?

Had a great nights scrapping with Hils and did two LO's need to decided what to do with them though!
Anyway am going to go and tidy up so I scrap tonight after aerobicS!

Ali / Jen, I have managed to get the time off work sorted so I can come to NP for August Scrapaholix bank holiday retreat if thats ok with you - I feel a bit like Cinderella - you can go and scrap and chat and drink wine ......... so Im off to book! DH is away so I would be home alone, or chasing round with my Aunt, who I love dearly but she isnt really a scrapper - well you know what they say - you cant choose your family!

I think I might have 'saved' some money - I already have a sizzix, do you think I would be able to use the cuttlebug embossing stencil folders with it? I do have a spacing platform for so that I can use the sizzlets and a couple of sizzix embossing folders I have? I love the embossing stencils though - Im sure my life isnt complete without them, and as they are tools they dont count as stash do they (looking round for approval)

Im booked in for NP August and March - well it was just sitting there and Ali said it would get booked up........... Im really looking forward to it! I have also double checked and I will definately be there on 11th May!
I think I will try the cuttlebug dies with the sizzix and if they dont work, well I will just have to buy one, although I think looking at it they will too - and I wont have spent more than I intended to when I thought I needed one IYKWIM, and it doesnt count because its a tool anyway <LOL>
The crop-a-dile - now that I think I do need, especially after Jen was talking about hers yesterday!
Finally the BIA - when do I need to let you know Ali - Im thinking I probably need the BIA and the bag, and some wires - would you be able to get all of them for me? Can you get a better deal on the wires than I could? Are you sure you dont mind picking one up for me, Im happy to send you the money before May 11 if you would prefer.
And you should have seen Jens beautiful collection of flowers....................

Not been able to play with anything tonight - late night at work & trains played up so didn't get home until 8 pm -- only had packet of crisps, slice of toast & glass of milk for dinner - going to bed soon & will try to get home earlier tomorrow night so I can play some more!!

I have done my photo class for this week so will upload my THREE photos! I have done a LO but need to see if Bex (the beautiful princess!) will let me use her sizzex for the title.
A PLEA - does anyone have button or baby dies and could the cut out some pink CS shapes for me and send them to me for Friday??
I have buttons die, what else might you need????

Jen - It is pale pink buttons and baby girl little things but I think Alison is on the case. She is playing with her craftrobo as I type - She is justifying the investment! ha ha ha
Ali - I did the photobox thing last night and was domented by the end of it.
Jo - Lovely to see you here with us. Just join in its really fun!

ironing:o ironing:angry: that really creases me up
no more swearing please:stop:
the practice of ironing is banned in the households of
all scrapaholics, it is a very unhealthy acivity,
it reduces scrapbooking time and induces the woman back into
a life of dull boring housework:nono:
it also stops the flow of creative inspirational thingys!
You can always tell a good scrapbooker,
she wears scrunchy non-iron blouses
with creased jeans

stinky, cheeky, funny boy is in the bath ...., then i get peace.
I am going to watch a bit of tv, while i stamp an example of each of my stamps on some card. I have a set of Anna griffin border/swirly stamps since before christmas but never used them, and they are actually really lovely, much more intricate than they look in the flesh (IYKWIM?). So I thought if i had a 'stamp' of all my stamps on a series of cards, then it would be easier to decide. as i have a whole 12x12 really useful box full of clear acrylic stamps that i always forget to use!!
I will obv be watching The Apprentice!!
AliMad
16-04-2008, 07:23 PM
Thanks Em, I'd forgotten about the Apprentice. My dirty stinky rascalls are being very loud at the moment (nothing new there!).
I need your help - I've filled a basket with stash that I probably don't need, you know like BG collection packs etc, there's 15% off due to the CC but I need to stop myself from going to the checkout as I need to save up for the two retreats I've booked that DH knows nothing about yet  Help me be strong girls PLEASE!!!!

do you know what i did re collection packs etc .. well i went to a site that showed pics of all the diff papers individually (Charmed crafts and cards was good), and i went through all the new releases (except archaic as i have everything in that inc stamps!!!) and i made a note of all the papers i really likes in each. as i have so many collection packs of BG where i get left with the 'duff' papers at the end (not that there are any duff BG, but YKWIM!!). then i bought just the papers i likes. I ended up with about 8 from each collection.
Ewhyley
16-04-2008, 07:39 PM
then armed with my list - I went to artbase first and got as many as they had on my list ( i went there 1st as they had the archaic stamps at the time), then i went to papermaze fior the rest. There are still 2 from mellow that i haven't got - but am about to do a stash order, so will dig out my list and add them in.
this was defo a cheaper way to do it - as i got a sample of each collection.

16-04-2008, 08:29 PM
Like the idea Em. I had a similar system for my rubber stamps a good while back. I even numbered each image and then labelled the drawers that held my stamps with the numbers of the stamps in that drawer so they'd be easier to find. Unfortunately that was before I started buying unmounted stamps and I didn't keep the system up to date so I have loads of 'uncatalogued' stamps now. I am so not a geek - nowhere near organised enough. Dh is a total geek.:D
Ali - it's probably too late now but that's just as well because I would have been totally useless at preventing you from stash shopping. Go for it I say - if you've got it spend it. If the shoe fits buy it in every colour, ditto scrapbook papers.:D
Well two chicks now hatched and three more eggs with cracks in when I left school at 4.30pm. I'll get some photos at the weekend when they come home with me. Hi All,
Been a long and busy day but really got my head down tonight to get on with my brothers album - its his birthday next week, but I wont see him until the 30th, I am going to get it done give it to him and get it off my guilt list. I have mainly been journalling and adding embellies - I think Im getting there. Also want to make friends with my CR!
On the subject of CR's Hils hope the buttons arrived and they were ok! I know you have a deadline tomorrow!
Jen, I got the cuttlebug embossing folders I ordered and had a play with these too, they did work in my sizzix and I love them!

Not really got the hang of this and haven't a clue how add my LO's but in spite of not being around for a couple of nights I've done another LO with the papers from the Edwinstowe crop last Sunday and just finished a double layout of my youngest son's 1st birthday party (he's now 21!!!) I've got a lot of scrapping years to catch up but need to get those photos out of those nasty sticky page albums. I'm now packing up to go to the Hobbyhorse Crop at Elvaston tomorrow & will be doing a card class too. Then I'm off to Edinburgh for the weekend - hope it's sunny enough to take some photos.
Have a fun weekend. Jo

I'm relieved today as I've had a TA in for the past two weeks who's given me the creeps, I told the boss today and the TA will not be in any more, phew!
Now for a relaxing weekend.
A little funny story... DH works at the same school and teaches Y6. I was on PPA (not teaching) this afternoon, when two Y6 boy came to the staffroom and said, "Mr Fieldwick needs you quickly!" I go out onto the field (it was freezing) and DH is stood still and whispers to me, "I've split my trousers, what shall I do?":o Well, I laughed! Told him to take his fleece off and tie it round his waist! We (the entire staff) have had a jolly good laugh about it this afternoon!!:lol::lol:

Morning all,
I have ironing and decluttering to do this morning, Im doing a bit of decluttering every day before the builders move in with us in June! Yesterday I finished journalling on the 8 DLO's in my brothers album, I plan to do more today - I think getting it done for his birthday is achievable now. I am also going to make friends with my CR!

Morning all.:D
I have chick pictures - will post later. We ended up with three girls and four boys. The girls have been named Nugget, Tikka and Fricasse. The boys are unamed atm as we can't tell them apart!
I am finally tackling my study today - yay! I've just cleared out over half of my patterned papers - mostly stuff I've had for years and haven't used or papers that I've used a few times already. Going to let dd keep some but I think I'll take most of them into school for the kids to make stuff with.
Jen - must be strange working in the same school as dh.
Alison - good luck decluttering, I usually get side tracked by the stuff I'm supposed to be clearing out.
Ali - tidying? Get it over and done with quick and then you can make some more mess scrapping!
Hils - have fun at the farm.
Happy scrapping to you all. Must go - I hear three small children murdering each other.

I ache everywhere - I have been decluttering and ironing all day, the only things not clean, ironed and put away are the clothes I am standing up in.
Need some quality scrapping time to help me get over it <LOL> I found a box of old 78's in the garage, I've been wondering if I could use a few to scrap my grandparents? Any ideas? Ive never done any altered stuff before, I know they are a bit heavy - but I thought it might be fun!

Thats how I feel <LOL> I thought about using some metal hinges to hold them together, and an idea of using the centre part of the disk for photos of them, and the outer parts to reflect on different times of their lives - Im sure its got potential, once I finish my brothers off! If you fancy having a go at a78 album of your own, I could bring you some on May 11!

I will bring a few 78's maybe Jen and Jo would fancy giving it a go too - I have more 10 inch than 12 inches - but would be happy to bring some of each for you all, if you fancy having a go - I think it could be fun. If anybody else would like a couple to play with let me know and I will post - if you PM me with your snail addys.

I bought one of the new Cricut Solutions cartridges at the weekend - Home Accents and have been using it making my cards. If someone would tell me how to download stuff I could show you.

Jo, you need to click on the gallery bar at the top of the screen. Then on the blue bar near the top there is a button for up load photos. Click that and then follow the instructions. There is a size limit to the pictures so you may have to reduce the quality to get them in. Hope that helps.
