I had really hoped that we would be lucky this cycle, but it seems not:( (they really need a crying emoticon on this forum).
Have been prescribed a higher dose and need to start with the 4 lots of bloods each cycle again:(

I was busy shopping on a second screen, Lou!

I wonder what happened to old-fashioned courtesy, like letting expectant mothers (using the words 'pregnant' and 'woman' could be considered uncouth in these circumstances, don't you think?) go first. What is the world coming to?

I was starting to wonder if Buttercup was stirring, you've been a bit quiet, Nikki. Thought I might see you Wednesday, but didn't actually encounter and of the ante-natal ladies.

Fingers crossed that the higher dose does the trick, Lou. It's so frustrating when each cycle comes round - that's one T-shirt I have too.

:( sorry Lou .... fingers crossed the higher dose will work for you.

Not long now Buttercup!

I had the same problem as you Eileen ..... placed an order with Artbase and then they called and said 'out of stock' ..... trouble is, I cant remember what they said was out of stock! Ive been getting in a bit of a muddle trying to collect stash from different places!! Thanks for the peek Lou, that will be a great help. I did manage to get the journalling pad and I LOVE it!

HUGS Lou. Hope the stronger dose works for you.

Went shopping today. I found myself in Craft Central. Not the greatest shop in the world however they have changed their stock since my last visit, something hobbycraft doesn't ever seem to do. They sell Bazzill and Bazzill bling. Not the greatest range of colours but it is Bazzill all the same. :) I did buy a few sheets but I think I will be back for more.

Not had any BH yet, just trying to take it easy. I feel so tired I get very little done these days but I don't have long either so it is to be expected. HUGS to you too Nikki.

I say it everytime I watch it - but I adore Gok Wan & HTLGN. Such a feel good show. A very warm & talented guy. It's the ONLY time where I actually WANT the women on TV to get absolutely starkers. I'm practically willing them to disrobe.

Right well I'd better try and do something a bit more practical with my day than watch TV & play on computer. Somewhere there is stash surely that needs to be bought.

Eileen C
12-04-2008, 11:21 AM
I am so scared by the concept of looking at my body in the nude that I can't even bring myself to watch the programme! Just the thought is traumatic, but I suppose I should be brave and watch an episode - when is it on?

There isn't that much stash that needs to be bought, 'cause I bought most of it last night - and mainly it's Lou's fault. When I went looking for lovely stash for her class (and I suspect she had all that stuff to hand from her last Scarlet Lime kit) ALL sorts of other stuff kept falling into my baskets.

No way Lou would let me near Mika. I'd mock them so much she'd chuck me out

Plus I'm happy if I'm seen as being too riff-raff for a gay home . I've seen what old queens are like when living under one roof. I'm not sure it'd be the quiet retirement Lou would imagine    The constant bitching, fighting and one-upmanship. Lou would be better off funding a stray felines home it'd be less catty

Evening all, been out with a friend this afternoon, which I really needed. Girly chat, rants, bitching, laughs and tears all packed into a couple of hours:lol:

Morning Sue. I will be so glad for you when your get your house back to normal. It wasn't that long ago when we moved in here, what a nightmare that upheaval was! After Wednesday you will be able to chill out with a glass of wine on the sofa watching something that helps you to wind down. That sounds fabby can I come over?

Jems I hope you have a super day today with your ma and pa. I am sure you will. Will have to check your blog to see what you get up to.

I need to get myself in gear today. I have a few things that need packaging up for posting tomorrow, and a couple of projects that I need to finish so I cannot see myself spending much time on here today.:(

I had a visit from a dear friend and their baby yesterday. I just wish I had taken photos.

Well that is an update from me and all you get for now you mad bunch. Catch you later.

Eileen C
13-04-2008, 10:37 AM
Hi Monika, was wondering how you were getting on.

Well, Lou, I think you're going to have to take a 'Mary Poppins' attituted to Harry Bear's childhood: "Accentuate the Positive" - things like 'we'll have so many entertaining tales to remember when we're old' or 'without H Bear we'd never have experieced such a wide range of A&E departments' or 'at least we got to have new furniture regularly so we never got tired of it' or 'Oliver grew up well able to take care of himself in difficult situations after dealing with his baby brother' etc

My middle sister (I'm the youngest of three) was like this - my mother says that had she been her first she'd never have had a second let alone a third! My elder sister was almost pathologically good, so Susie came as a bit of a shock. We all survived, even if my knees show some residual damage (she was six years older than me but used to sit on my outstretched legs and bounce. Regularly. No, make that very frequently. Like more than daily.)

So, the most important thing is to maintain your sense of humour - and scrap as much as you can so that you can embarass him when he is older - especially when he has kids of his own LOL!

nikkimitch
13-04-2008, 11:52 AM
Great approach to 'interesting' children Eileen - will have to remember those quotes to use for Ben - he's our trouble maker although the other two get up to their fair share of mischief too. Ben woke at 530 this morning screaming 'I NEED A DRINK OF MILK' repeatedly - we call him a milkaholic he is so dependant on the stuff

Another lazy day here although I have just finished ironing the uniforms for the week - so worried Buttercup is going to play up and I'll abandon the house with too much for Mum to cope with (John wont even try )

Got to take Tom to a party - at a bowling alley so I intend to sit and chatter - nothing more strenuous than that. Next Saturday we have 3 parties - going to be a busy day - these children certainly have better social lives than their parents

Hope everyone has a good day - :)

jenga
13-04-2008, 08:21 PM

You think you've got a problem - I'm trying to find photos of my sister who is 60 - that's right SIXTY this year! Trouble is I have lots from when she was tiny but not that many more recent ones (she left home when I was 8, before I got a camera and I don't see her that often)

MUST get to grips with the mystery kit later today. Lots of boring h**s*w*rk to do first (one has to be careful about unacceptable language around these parts) - and a little light shopping, still have to get the 'escort' for my swap package. I've decorated the pen - decided to use some beads on wire, and then thought I may as well turn them into earrings, so, bizarrely, the pen has a pair of earrings attached - oh, well, I mean well ...

kittenglitter
14-04-2008, 10:24 AM
You don't have to stick to photos Eileen. I would use efermera from the decades to bulk it out. Lists of top ten tracks for the year she had her first child etc. Scrapping without photos is a bit harder but can be done. Hope these ideas help out hun. X

Eileen C
14-04-2008, 10:34 AM
Errrm, that would be OK if she was a bit more conventional! Not married, no children, no long term partners, was into folk music not pop when she was a teenager and is a bit, errr, I think the word is 'peculiar'

The thing she is best at is bossing people, and I don't think I'll be making a mini-book of that!

First I'm going to do a minibook of my dad, it's ten years this year since he died, and I think my mum would love that. I just need to get my scanner working!

exciting news at the castle today :):) - all 5 caterpillars have finally managed to form their chrysalis (cant even begin to work out how to correctly spell the plural  too knackered :)) - so 10 days or so and we should have some butterflies - the children are loving the process so much and check them as soon as they get up every morning - it has been fascintating watching them grow.

We've got a surprise friend around - as in we didn't know until this morning that he would be arriving. Just quickly catching up. Comp was down this afternoon until N got home. We had a ferocious hail storm here and a flash of lightning at the same time as a thundercrack. It felt as if it had hit our house. It didn't but several power points were down. Plus I had two very spooked cats who wouldn't come out from under the bed. I only know that cos i was there with em

I saw Nikki today. She is getting very bored and fed up, and as all is as sorted as it is going to be at home it's definitely time Buttercup put in an appearance! Must say the midwife was a bit confused when I was talking about Buttercup, we had to explain (not sure she understood the bit about the alternative being Tixylix, though, so I'm confirmed as a nutter in her eyes!)

Hope she 'crack's soon, as she is not enjoying this last bit - I suspect that at this stage this pregnancy is going fast for us and slow for her...

Won't be long before you're tapping your fingers impatiently, Monika!

Morning all.

I cannot believe that some us have snow this morning and severe weather warnings. I was speaking with an older member of my community the other day and she remembers it snowing in June in the 60's. Flipping heck is what I thought so here are some ninjas for that one.:ph34r::ph34r:

I have so much hw to do today. I know that word is illegal on here but I must get on with it. I think I will be taking it slowly as the bump prevents me from spinning around with the duster Bewitched style.

Well what ever you get up to today enjoy. If that is possible.

Nikki sending you (((((HUGS)))))

Thanks for the hugs Monika - lovely big pink ones too :)

Yes the midwife did think our conversation a little odd yesterday Eileen  - bp seems to have decided to stay sorted so that is a relief - anaemic now - might explain the exhaustion - but apart from that all doing fine so just got to sit and wait for madam to decide she wants a change of scene  - she is back to back at the moment - (which the other 3 were so not too concerned) but midwife has given me some advice on sitting etc to encourage her to turn - tried last night but to be honest I would rather slouch on the sofa and have a back to back delivery than sit on a hard dining chair in the evenings

Must take a photo of the Lo I did of jems sketch today and expecting a delivery of 300 odd photos to bring me almost up to date with ordering so hoping to get a chance to sort through those and possibly scrap a bit today??

Have a good day everyone - will do a blog hop later as havent for a while :)

Hi folks, just in from work (well, about 20 minutes ago) after another fun-filled action day - not really, just VERY busy. Things a bit better but still 'difficult'

I was hoping my swapee would post to say my Goody Bag swap would post to say she'd got my parcel (posted 1st class on Tuesday, that's RM for you) but nado so far. As far as I am aware my parcel didn't arrive, or any stash, but as I've been in for three or four hours less than anyone else a little search if probably in order!

Mike's just cooking our tea (duck breasts and lyonnaise potatoes - yum!) and it's smelling good, so I'd better nip down two floors and make appropriate appreciative noises.

Might just have to pour myself a glass of wine .....

kittenglitter
17-04-2008, 09:24 PM
I will have a glass Eileen. Red wine is medicinal and full of grapes for my five a day. :)

Jen I don't know how you coped. 30 kids going; 'Miss, look at this!' and shoving stuff in your face. Oh  MG no:ph34r:

Still got lots of dust and muddle to clear but Im getting there. It is so different to how it was that people cant believe it when they see it!! Definitely not a good night Monika - I was getting up every 1 1/2 hours but for the last week have managed several nights with 4 hour stretches of uninterrupted sleep - bliss - trying not to get too used to it though as that will all change once buttercup arrives

Ben has been poorly all week as well :( - managed one day of playgroup but as I wrote the illness policy there cant send him today :( he is currently watching scooby doo and annoying the cat for which he has been given a nasty scratch on his left eyebrow - think he has learnt his lesson

Tom is worrying at school - about everything and getting himself in a state - he so takes after his father - they are both glass half empty people while I am glass half full - got a meeting with his teacher after school today to discuss ways to help him deal with his stress - he is 6!!! and stressed already  buttercup better be mellow and chilled cant cope with another like Tom

photos arrived yesterday so off to sort them - some for playgroup but 200 odd for me - just need some childfree time to do something with them

Sorry to hear youre monsters are keeping you up at night :D I slept like a log having been sleep deprived the night before

Just been down to Stockport to right a wrong done to me many years ago  It's truly sad (& I mean Loser definition of Sad, not heartbreaking). Back in my youth I collected a magazine series on Classic Books. Every couple of weeks I collected the magazine & book & even managed to read most of them. 50 in all @ £5 a pop. The whole thing in the end wasn't cheap. And my Ex when he moved into my flat, threw them out. Didn't bother to ask, just saw them as C**p in his mind. I can feel my blood boling just typing about it

Anyways, Age Concern had the whole lot in the window so I've been down there and bought 'em (for £20 not £250). I'm like a pig in poo this morning. Plus I thought whilst I'm there, to reward myself for the wrong that was done unto me many years ago - I deserved a Chocolate Orange. Hey any excuse :D

I know Mike has things I thing are rubbish, but they're his, so I just encourage him to put them somewhere safely and reasonably tidily (what a hope!) It's not good when people assume that things they don't value have no worth to others IYKWIM.

John has just phoned offering to pick the children up from school - normally I would jump at the chance but I have the meeting with Tom's teacher so have to go really (and NO do not want John to go to the meeting instead ) what has really annoyed me is that I have worried about this meeting all day whereas John has obviously forgotten it is happening  MEN!!!!!!

kittenglitter
18-04-2008, 03:54 PM
I know what you mean about sending men to do certain school related things. I just don't bother asking him to go to meetings like this at all. He is worse than useless as he cannot hide the fact that he hates being in school, and that most of the time his is not paying attention. This combination is so embarrassing so I usually just go myself. In the unfortunate event that he has to go, I get little or nothing as a report anyway so it is a complete waste of time. MEN are good at somethings and ridiculously rubbish at others.

Eileen C
18-04-2008, 05:01 PM
Well, obviously, Nikki - you would have no more information than you have now if John went to the meeting, he wouldn't tell you all of what was said, and he wouldn't have raised the points you wanted to discuss.

And now, no doubt, if he's true to husband form, he'll be trying to stand on the moral high ground, about how he offered to help you, and you refused, so it's entirely your own fault if you're frazzled and not rested - and by the way what's for supper?

Or maybe that's just my DH!

MEN are good at somethings and ridiculously rubbish at others.

Paul, what we are saying are that there are some things men are useless at, not that they are cr*p at everything.

Of course, there are some things women are not so hot at, but we don't tend to talk about those so much!

Oh, nearly forgot:     !

Yep have to say this post editing is confusing me too  - did seem reasonable as well :)

my ninjas have disappeared too and am too knackered after the stress of today to look further for them

John has arrived home with a large lcd tv and a wii with the idea of setting them up in the playroom to get the children away from the lounge at the weekend so he can watch sport - NO!!! That was not the idea - the idea was to buy a tv and sort out an aerial for HIM to watch sport in the garden room ie out of earshot of the rest of us so I can watch in the lounge while feeding and the children can watch the odd dvd. grrrr!!!! he never listens - plus a wii was supposed to be what we were buying for Christmas - oh well - might be fun

Eileen C

The original post was a little stronger, but I still thought it was reasonable!

Just started my mystery kit, and have hit a disaster on the first element - I think a bit of repair is called for, even possibly a judicious bit of cheating! (Only need to cover a tiny tear but am not supposed to use any ink other than black or white, and it's on a edge so I can't cover it) I'm sure that would hardly count, what do you think, folks?

Olbas
18-04-2008, 09:51 PM
I'm all for a bit of cheating  Have to say I don't know how strict the judges are. I made my page then looked at the supply list :D thankfully I didn't use/not use anything which would be seen as deviation - not that I'm overly concerned. Where would art be if people didn't break the rules

Just catching up with you lot - I then usually am out of steam or time to say anything!:D
Had a good Friday so far - mostly since I didn't go to work. Was marred by the Dr. visit ever so slightly, but all good and on to meeting up with a fellow UKScrapper who moved here a year ago, lunch and craft shopping all afternoon - can't beat that eh!:)
Now in for the evening since it is piddling it down here - no snow tho'! Have to go play with some of the goodies I bought I think.:)

Good to hear from you Jems. So glad you popped in I was wondering if you'd got lost somewhere out there in the big country with your parents.

I have had an hour's more sleep than normal this morning. Whoopee. That constitutes a lie in and might mean that I don't spend the whole entire day in bed. :)

My house is like a bomb site. I have lots to do re getting it back to normal but hey we love the word procrastination on here don't we?

I have made porridge for brekkie this morning. For me and Josh, noonne else will touch it. What a shame. I haven't had it for ages and boy is it yum. Am I making you salivate?

I have Fi Glover on in the background and my bright sunny space to myself to enjoy. :) Small things.

Roght I think I have gone on for long enough. Hope you all have a super dooper day.

Morning :) Hi Jems
I've had a lie in today too as the boys had a sleepover at mum's last night :) Tich has to pull down the old shed this morning as a new one is being delivered on Tuesday. I am going to sit inside and laugh at him I think  whilst I try to get this 30th book done

Well I'm fannying around on computer yet again - this time cropping photos I scanned yesterday instead of working. I get easily distracted :D I was looking for a photo of an old friend then noticed there were scrappable photos in that particualr album and so on and so on.

Hoping to go out somewhere today. Just waiting for Nick to wake up fully. I just ply him with coffee till it hurts :D

Take plenty of photos Jen. If necessary even before having to call 999 :D

Well I've attended to the washing and asked a bleary OH what he'd like to do today and we've agreed to have a mooch around Manchester. Trouble is no matter where we'll go in Manchester, Hotel Chocolat will be en route. It's inescapable. Not sure I'll be able to resist

Eileen C
19-04-2008, 11:21 AM
Morning all! Where were you all last night - clearly Kathy and Jems wre waiting until my light went out (after midnight) to come on here and start chatting!

I stayed up late to 'get the back broken' (such a lovely expression don't you think - it's one of my mother's favourites) of my mystery kit, and it's just about done. I think I've managed to use at least part of all the elements (apart, inevitably, from the small bits I have doubtless dropped on the floor and won't find until after the cc weekend!) and it's OK - don't think I'll be getting many votes for originality, but it's a bit different to my previous efforts.

Off to Hull tomorrow - yes, that's right folks, another fencing competition, oh joy! So I have to concoct a 'picnic' of things that Liam will eat under such circumstances which isn't 98% sugar and fat. NOT an easy task I can assure you, his diet by natural inclination is appalling, and not much better by coercion. Kids!

Apart from that not too much on. We have to get all four of us together (increasingly difficult with teens in the house) to choose which major tours we want to do on our cruise (the big ones like The Acropolis and Pompeii) which shouldn't cause TOO many disagreements, hopefully.

If I can I should get round to sorting some stash for next weekend, and even maybe looking at some photos - at least I know what I'm looking for for Lous, but the problem I find with classes, is that you don't know what photos you need until you've seen the page LO, as opposed to when you start with the picture and build the LO round it, so I tend not to print them off in advance.

Eileen C
19-04-2008, 11:25 AM
Are you suggesting that there is the slightest chance of being able to walk past Hotel Chocolat? I certainly couldn't! We don't have one locally, so Alice and I get the tasting box every two months - reminds me, we have a couple to catch up on.......

Guess where I'm going? As soon as Alice is up and awake (in that order, caffeine will be involved)

Poor lass is working SO hard for AS exams. She is getting THREE Core Maths exam papers a week to do, and as a special treat this week she got an extra Mechanics one. Then on Thursday they were told their Chemistry course work had to be completed by Friday (nothing like a bit of notice, is there?) so those of them that do both would get blasted for not handing in the Maths paper! Not sure how much, if any, Biology or Physics is getting done, there only being 24 hours in the day, and she does need SOME of it for sleep. As for Critical Thinking ......

Olbas
19-04-2008, 11:31 AM
Well there could be an effort to try and walk past but not without a lot of kicking, screaming, crying and all round fuss.

As for last night I had a quick gander then decided I needed a bath - lots of bubbles and candles. Bit of Britney and then a comedy by Dominc Holland. When I chill, I chill!!!

Stay indoors Jems and slob about. You have the perfect excuse.:P I love lazy days like that.

John has been to the supermarche and he took Marcus with him, but came home without him. He bumped into a parent from school and now Marcus has gone over for tea. Nice quiet time. Unexpected, but oh so welcome.

Just watched Back to the Future for the umpteenth time. I just love it. I have spent most of the day in bed. At leas the TV was entertaining.

I am up now but don't feel energised. Once I've made tea, I think it will be back to bed for me. I did a good job on the kitchen this morning and think I have whacked myself out. Oh well.

How's the Wii Nikki? You will love it.

But we love you here, Paul, thin or ....err..... not so thin!

Better balance out all that luviness :ph34r:

Not been on here tonight, and not done any scrapping because after supper we spent HOURS trying to sort out what tours we want to go on on the cruise. Should have been fun, but it was very tedious, as there are zillions of them, and everytime I read anything out we got sidelines by Liam making facetious, and very long-winded asides, it took FOREVER.

Also trying to sort out Uni open days for Alice to go to, with Mike and I increasinly less subtly trying to dissuade her from bothering with St Andrews because a) its an awful long way away b) it seems even further away if you have to use public transport to get there c) it asks for ludicrously high grades d) I don't think there is much there (correct me if I'm wrong) apart from the Uni and lots of posh golf courses e) it's a year longer so if she did an M.Phys it would be 5 years f) it'll be full of Scottish public school hooray henrys, if that isn't mixing my metaphors too much. So, you've probably gathered it wouldn't be our first choice for her! She's also looking at Glasgow (at least you can get there from here) Durham (every middleclass Harrogate parent's ideal uni!) Leicester (my old haunting ground, very good for astrophysics, the National Space Museum is there) Lancaster (nice and smallish, close to the Lakes) and Loughborough (not too big a town, would be a bit outnumbered by engineers and sports students, which shouldn't be a problem) She is adamant that she doesn't want to go to a big city centre uni.

It is SERIOUSLY weird, working on her university choices with her, it only seems ten minutes since she was starting school. Oh well, says Methusaleh, and potters off to bed....

Eileen C
20-04-2008, 04:57 PM
Where is everyone? I've been all the way to sunny (for which read rainy) Hull and back today. Yep, yet another fencing competion. Liam came 6th out of 8 which was not great, but then he needs to put more effort into his training if he wants to do any better.

Might photograph my mystery kit while it's still light.

Hello all:)
Just got back from mum's, decided to go on Friday at th drop of a hat for a change of scenery. Had a great weekend... but the food was not as yummy as Paul's little food shop... chilli olives:wub: but:nono: on the HC... Cadburys all the way for me... only like Thronton's cappucino truffles and their liqurice toffee, so you can keep that too.
Off to print out some pics, as I feel like doing some scrapping tonight... not done any for an age:rolleyes:

Eileen/Nikki... how long does glandular fever make you feel like sh*t for?

Eileen C
20-04-2008, 06:36 PM
It varies, Lou. Most of the symptoms settle in a week or two, but you can feel quite low for several weeks, or, unusually longer. Here (http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23068769/)'s an information leaflet which might help.

Jen, I think the idea is that the mystery kit stays a mystery until the gallery is opened for voting, so I'd better not post it on here in case someone thinks I'm touting for votes from my teamies LOL!

Once it is posted I have some plans to adapt it slightly, but I can't use anything not in the kit, so I had to improvise! I did manage to use virtually all the kit, which was good, I suppose.

Good to see you back again Lou.

Have been having a very lazy day. Took a leaf out of Jems book from yesterday. I feel very rested.

:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Next door's cat got into our house yesterday and sprayed the box containing the new Moses basket that we have bought for the baby. I am furious. So glad it was in the box and within cellophane. I have taken everything out and thank god nothing inside the box seems to be contaminated with the odour. However I have taken all of the soft bits off and washed them as an extra precaution. To be honest I would have done that anyway.

Our cat is terrified of the big and bolshy tom that lives next door. It seems to be a right bully. Everytime she goes out it hounds her. He thinks this is his territortory. WELL IT IS MINE. I will have to restrain myself if it every gets in this house again.

Well that is just one adventure for the weekend at our house. Hope you are all having not so smelly weekends.

:)

I had my grandson this weekend. It was his turn .... the children have a rota system! Poor James ..... he came downstairs at 10 last night and said he was so homesick and missed his family. Glad to have you back Louise and sorry about the GF - not nice :(

I meant to order the MK but never got around to it - probably just as well as I wouldnt have had time to do anything with it :)

In a quandry - supposed to be spending my evenings sat with knees lower than hips (etc...) to encourage buttercup to shift her bottom round and stop being back to back BUT my feet look like elephants so should really have them up to get the swelling down - grrrr getting fed up with being pregnant now - know I shouldnt moan as I am sooo lucky to be in this position but need a little rant today cos knackered and uncomfortable. Rant over

Went to a party yesterday with the most manic children's entertainer I have ever met - her name is Beatty Bunnikins and she is loopy  the children loved her except Tom who asked to go home as he thought she was boring (he's sooo grown up now 6 going on 16) so mum took him home to play with the wii with John - pretty sure that is why he wanted to leave the party
