Just finished the cj too - definitely a good scrapping day.
Weather forecast for tomorrow is not good - so bad they have changed the time of the boat coming home to 2 hours earlier to try and ensure it goes could be a rough crossing on the way home.

Jan, love those little prjects! Gorgeous shell ebads, and love that Cosmo Cricket stuff.
Liz, thanks for links. I may try one of those as they are not too overwhelming as a big kit. Just ordered Sarahscards March to collect tomorrow. She is not taking all her usual shop to the crop, but is dropping by with her twins and a few bits for orders.
Off to Southport today with Mum. Washer on third load so it's not all left for Sunday after my crop day tomorrow.

Had a nice day in Southport with Mum. Nice lunch and mooch around. Got nice top and skirt from M&S for my b'day.
Printed off some pics for crop tomorrow but am bored with all these papers so may end up buying some. sarahs kit was the March one whcih is too masculine for my style.
Back from Oxford - weather was really kind to us and we had a fatastic time loads of caches and fresh air.
Hope you are all well will be back tomorrow

We had a good day in France shopping and sightseeing but the crossing coming back was very very rough. Fortunately it wasn't a busy boat so everyone was spread out as there were a number of very ill people.

Also I have a couple of LOs and couple of cards in A Trip Down Memory Lanes gallery this month............. here is link to their site...... (http://www.atripdownmemorylane.co.uk/catalog/) ........ I answered a note on the craft diner forum, and was sent tinkering ink papers, cardstock and stickers to work with. I found it really hard as I wouldnt have chosen the papers....... but hope my work doesnt stand out too much from the other fab work that has been done..... dont think I could do that all the time having to work to a deadline - bad enough with a CJ !! LOL!!!

Dealys on M6 really depend on time of day. We travel down to M5 on the way to Cornwall but go VERY early Sunday am. They reckon that it's the slowest, congested stretch of motorway through Cheshire to Warrington. Horrible.
well. we will probably leave, in the morning around 10am. on friday.
we are hoping to take advantage of the hotel facilities.
on saturday, i would like to be on my way home around 5 at the latest as even on a good run it will probably take around 4.1/2 hours.
juliebee
12-04-2008, 08:25 PM
Do you not fancy taking the train instead? Just had a quicklook and you could get return tickets for about £62 but each trip would only be about 2 hours. Thats from Euston, to Warrington.

Liz, you are on a roll:rolleyes: Bet you're glad DD home now.
Hope you didn't spend too much Jan!
Will you have fully tanned legs tomorrow then Fluv?
Glad you enjoyed the crop today Julie, really wish I could have been there. Mark got called out at 3am and didn't get back until 10, so he had a couple of hours kip this morning. Glad I didn't risk coming.
Looking forward to seeing all these LO's. Putting me to shame you lot.

Glad to hear you had a good day Julie - and 4 LO too well done!
Kath - sounds like your hubby was worn out!
 at your half brown legs Fluv!!! You will have to go visit her again and do the rest!! Or pretend you were wearing crop trousers and out in the sun......
Hope you all have a lovely sunday........ just had bacon toasted sandwich for brekky - yum! Off to have shower then hope to get my CJs done for posting tuesday (ish!).... as working tomorrow......... Am sending Spence and Ashley out to do the shopping as need more bread and some potatoes and veg otherwise sunday dinner wont be v good.....
the legs - LOL, they are very brown this morning, I applied once yesterday morning then again before sis left, they have 'cured' overnight and are now quite brown so if anyone is wanting a good cheap fake tan, try the Dove one that is being advertised only 4.99 works a treat. you can build it up, to the colour you want.(i dont recommend applying twice in one day if you are very fair)LOL especially to only half a leg.
katie squirrel
13-04-2008, 01:52 PM
Might try that one then Fluv......... but just the one coat!! LOL!
Just made peanut butter cupcakes - well muffins........ as was going to make the pineapple ones, but havent got any pineapple in cupboard - was sure there was some in there....... and DH didnt take phone with him shopping so couldnt get him to get some....... so made peanut butter ones as requested by Ashley the other week.......... so made them - DH ate one - erm okay but hes not that fussed on peanut butter..... gave one to Ashley who had a sniff and tiny bite and said its got nuts in it....... erm. yes, peanut butter - clue in the title there........ and he wanted them - so decided he doesnt like them so put in bin. Charming - I thought they were okay...... SO...... looks like I get to eat 13 muffins to myself!! ha ha ha!! Freezer here they come..............
Just waiting for pork to cook - yum.... off to put stuffing in and look at the roasties...
Owen back to school tomorrow and Morgan on Tuesday. Still working on the world model (just waiting for the paint to dry)
Has anyone ever been to the Scilly Isles??? Morgan has had homework over the break and has had to research the Scilly's - think we might actually go there this summer to check it out.
katie squirrel
13-04-2008, 02:20 PM
Good luck with the world model - he gets some amazing homework assignments...... and nope, never been to Scilly Isles do they sound interesting then from what you have found out so far?

What a fantastic project! Well done Owen!
Poor Mark! I noticed there had been a couple of accidents about Manc area. Wondered if he had been to them.
had a slow day today. Told girls no computers till after tea, so we have just mooched about - have a 1000 piece jigsaw that A and K are doing together, and I had to go out to replace L's 'lost' pe kit. She then decided she wanted to make her own bag, so chopped up an old pair of black cords and sewed 2 squares together and made gusset out of some pink furnishing fabric and an old belt for strap. She is dead chuffed with it! I had to oversee and sew the top edge which was a bit thick and my machine struggled a bit.
A and L are sad about Mark Speight. :(

Fluv, is that Dove tan the one that is a moisturiser? And is it the one that doesn't supposedly smell of fake tan, IYKWIM?
And do you have to exfoliate first???

Didnt know about Mark Speight till julie's post. Sad i'll tell the kids later when they are back from school. Wasnt he Max Headroom too.
Well i am crook. I think i have tonsillitis coming on me :( So feel pretty crap at mo.
Did mange a LO yesterday, decided to do that '12 on 12' (12 photos on the 12th of each month, to show everyday life) project so as we arrived on the 12th this month is the first month in our second year IYKWIM and we'd had a good day collecting pinecones for the fire (they're huge here) and chestnuts and then roasting them on the pinecone fire on the deck - dead cosy.
Right back to my blanket and snooze i think.

Healing vibes to Jan

15-04-2008, 10:51 AM
Evening,
Why is he upset with the report???
Its not his usual standard. He had a reading age of 13 when he was 8 (he read harry potter when he was in year 1) and now its the same as his age  and maths (his best subject) they do speed tests (which they never concentrated on in the UK - mental maths was the main thing), he coming out average :o yet he's in the uni maths group so dont quite know. But will speak to his teacher (he's a NQT are whatever they are called here) when he's back.
Anway he's apologised to his dad
The CC timetable isnt too bad for me neither, the last one i can do is voodoo vixen (which i wanted to do).
Still no sign of my MK, in fact no parcels from UK for sometime now :(

Katie, are you being secretive again? What card thingy and why photo? Confess....
And, are you have 'stuff' done at your next hosp appointment?
Jan hope you can placate your K. They do get easily hurt by reports and it must be so much more difficult for you because they have only been there for 12 months. Hang on in!
Liz, your blog has some lovely stuff that I haven't seen! Love your France LO with your gorgeous tall DD! And yes she does look grown up now!

Hey that's what I meant to say the other night when this was coming on me and you know the way you have vivid dreams when you have a temp, well i dreamt about Fluv CJ and it was your turn, but i was there in really life and you had this huge swimming pool and spa set into the pool like kidney shaped all in the basement of your house - it was FAB.
Katies birthday is next. 22nd April
Hope you can sort out the report (is that the first one he has had since he got to NZ?) A chat to the teacher deffinitely required. Strange how they have more emphasis on speed in maths than in the UK

Hadn't thought about the diff between UK and NZ standards but that must make a huge change in expectations. And its hard enough to get young boys to read anyway. I have some useful links if ever you want any.
Yes, Katie for next bday then! Must get ahead with cards.... If only I could get them to finish this 1000 piece jigsaw and get it off MY table!!!

Had my filling at dentist this lunchtime and just risked a cup of tea with no dribbles! Cheek feels iffy still!
Have you decided to go for the bridge?
LOL julie. Dribbling is so not in at the moment...
Robert's flight to SF had an interesting end. Heavy landing broke basin and some pipes in First class which meant loads of water and yucky stuff all over the first class cabin and horrid smells. Had to evacuate the plane

Have delayed decision for financial reasons for the moment. Also it has not come any more loose and is manageable.
LOL julie. Dribbling is so not in at the moment...
So agree with you!!

Have just sewn badges onto scout shirt - have done 4 but stopped now as am not sure what the group badge is - I think I have a patrol badge but dont want to sew on in the wrong place!! LOL!
Patrol badge goes on right arm below the district/county badge
The group badge is the one with the name of the Scout Group (normally thin label type - ours says 2nd Wickford Loveday Scouts) this is sewn above the district/county badge also on the right arm

Been out shopping - mostly food not anything nice! Kids were swimming at the unsociable time of 7 - 9 am this morning so had to get up at 6.10 not right during the holidays. Have to take Katherine to the beach next - other side of the island though so that will take an hour! Then I might do some scrapping when I get back. My scrap room kit came yesterday and there are some challenging papers in this months:lol:
Yesterday decided to oil all the wooden work surfaces in the kitchen - meant to do it at least once a year but I have only done it a couple of times in over 5 years - but they look nice now! Did mean there was no room to scrap though as had to clear all the tops to do it and it took hours to dry.
Tonight I am going out - works leaving do and as I missed the last couple of nights out thought I'd make the effort - also helps I don't have to get up in the morning unlike everyone else:lol:

THanks for that - on the sheet it showed that badge above the district/county badges where I have put it, but then it also said group badge inbetween those and the patrol one........ I have a little rectangle one with the scouts logo on left over so Ashley is going to ask on Friday... have left a gap but if its wrong tough I reckon!! LOL! As have sewed patrol badge and his 3 badge thingy on too!!! Also sewn a challenge badge on front and 3 activity badges on left sleeve - have terrible pins and needles now in hand/arm... ho hum! Still, hopefully thats done for a while........... now need the trousers shortening so will get him to try those on later or tomorrow and sew them tomorrow or Friday..............
Most impressive Liz - oiling worktops - you will have to say no cooking now so you dont spoil the look! Like the description of "challenging" - guess that means you are not keen!!!
Scrapagogo kit came this afternoon........ so think might TRY and be organised this month and have a go at CJ later or tomorrow............
Still feel rubbish - terrible stomach cramps  and kept me awake in night too........... still, perhaps a dime bar might help??:D
dime bar is deffo worth a try.
I am going away for a few days. might be on later tonight but then not until friday evening/saturday.

Well, I took the plunge and returned to slimming world again last night! The closest one is right over my back garden fence but is Wed eve at 6.30, so it is a struggle to go and then get to youth club if it is my night. Also it uses up yet another evening! So I drove down to next village where same lady does an early 5pm one on Tuesday. I have been getting depressed about my clothes not fitting and I hate it when I have lovely stuff in the wardrobe and its all tight. So have had my first day following it today and now have SW chips and a veggie burger in oven.
Mind you, watched Gok last night and according to himself, average is size 16 in uk. But I NEED to get back into my 14 clothes!

Morning,
Thanks for your wishes with the teacher. Well it was a bit of a storm in a teacup. Seems that the test in his portfolio arent a true reflection (thank goodness) he did say that when he gave Kieran these test he didnt think anything about it then when we tested him on his own (without speed) he was shocked with the difference.
Next term him and the other 2 boys who are good at maths will be working on year 9 maths, so that will be good for K. His reading age is 15, I think its a case of us not understanding the portfolio (and the teacher :)) His teacher is lovely (Canadian guy) and is really pleased with Kieran. So cant ask any more.
Sorry for the 'all about me' post, but must tell you about the aftermath of the senior social. Well K girlfriend wouldnt dance with him in front of her friends (her friends arent nice they were in Lou's class last year and gave her grief) and she denied she liked him at all (they have been 'going out' since before xmas in secret to the school) so lots of tears of him.
No one wanted to dance with Lou (one kid did, who K says really likes her but her friend likes him:rolleyes::lol:) So tears from her.
OMG thought this wouldnt happen for AGES yet :o:o
and the worst of it ........
I nearly turned into my mother (love ya mummy) and said

Thursday was a gorgeous day, friday was a bit windy and showery, didnt make any difference though we had a great time. Hadnt realised quite how much there was to do there. I am completely shipped out now though. and my thighs are like missiles from going up and down so many ladders LOL.
Michelle if you havent been the boys would love it, for a family ticket at 49.00, it covered everything, we went on HMS warrior, Victory, saw the Mary Rose, various exhibitions, we had a trip on a boat around the harbour. and there is a bit called Action Stations where there is all hands on stuff for kids (Big and small LOL). science/experimental stuff as well as helicopter simulater and climbing walls. still one with ropes and moving wall.
Had to laugh Elise went on the moving wall and got to the top quicker than you can say jack rabbit, the wall stopped moving as the sensor couldnt pick her up. she had a point to prove, she was on the wall with a boy she didnt know.

One of our friends was navy i wonder if they ever crossed paths - although i think we are a wee bit older than you guys. how long ago was steve in the navy??
jani d

Fluv, he was in the RFA (royal fleet axillary) they are merchant crew but working for MOD, we was on the the training ship for the navy. We got engaged on board his ship (RFA Argus) in the officers mess. Before that he was on the QEII.
Cool, what an exciting job. And lucky you getting engaged aboard. My DH went on the QEII to New York, and flew back concorde. (Lucky Bl**der.)
Our Friend was Royal Navy. they are in Abu Dhabi now. Weird eh, his wife is scouse too.

20-04-2008, 10:47 AM
The sea is in the blood for most scousers :lol: (both my granddad went to sea - both visited NZ too).
Well Steve never took me on board the QEII:nono::( No chance now
of course both the QEII and concorde are both 'retired' now arent they.
jani d
20-04-2008, 11:03 AM
Yes forgot about concorde, we saw one at Manc airport when we were taxiing to the runway. Took our minds off the fact of us leaving.
Well i am going to bed in a bit, got work in the morning :( at least it's a short week, we have a holiday on Friday (ANZAC Day)

Morning!
Didnt know Steve was in navy Jan... all these people visiting pompey eh?? LOL!!! So many naval bases around there ....... always good for a punch up down southsea on a saturday night!! LOL!!!
Love your LO Jan - and pages done for Lou's book too - excellent!!!
The muffins were very nice Fluv - although DH reckons they have more of a cake texture than muffin... work that out!! LOL! Are they a sw recipe - thought that from ingredients..... but they went down v well and am going to take one round for my dad when we go for sunday lunch - my mum wont be impressed cos she doesnt like pineapple!! LOL!! I only made half the recipe so got 12 huge muffins from it... so by the time we have one today and I take one on monday for my lunch there will only be a couple left!! LOL!
no not a sw recipe but good to know if low fat never thought of it that way - to me a cakes a cake, if you are gonna eat one, eat one good and proper LOL

Would anyone like a lovely blue 6 x 6 or 8.5 x 8.5 K&co gatefold album like this? (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-x-12-Red-Fabric-Studio-K-Gatefold-Album-K-Co_W0QQitemZ370043201040QQihZ024QQcategoryZ33977QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Small one is £9 incl postage and bigger is £14 incl postage. They are Auntylind's but I said I would offer then to the Faeries first.

I was thinking that Fluv because of it having so much skimmed milk in there... and I guess if you substituted the sugar for sweetener it wouldnt be too bad. They were really nice though so would deffo recommend making them! The recipe will make at least 24 muffins though... as I halved the recipe and get 12 huge muffins out of them...
No thanks Julie....... if you could see all the new albums I have on my shelf!! LOL!! They do look nice though........
I need to sort through my albums... what do you all do with yours - is it just random selections or do you have themed albums? I did intend to have one of ashley on his birthdays... then albums for holidays, christmas etc but at the moment they all just seem to be all jumbled up.. so one page is ashley 3months old, next he is 7, next is christmas etc........

LOL at Katie's album stash! I have 5 now, last one only half filled. They are in chronological order of doing them, so are a complete mixture of ages, subjects, hols. But I llike it that way.
We went to the band's gig last night. So Kath's DH is the lead guitar, K is the vocals and my bro the bass. In our local pub for a change as we usually have to travel to Kath's neck of the woods.
They went down well, a mix of 'classic' rock and new stuff. Something from every decade since 60s. Will post a couple of pics later.

Kath - 5 syns for half a Guinness so for the 3 I had last night, I am still less on my syns cos I saved some! (halo polished! )
Now off to grill some bacon and tomato, scramble eggs.
my albums are all a jumble of different ages events etc. I like it like that, I just cant seem to do organised...

I have one album of a Florida holiday and one large album which has 2007 events and another large one with everything else. I do plan to sort them when sections (eg California holiday) are finished but I tend to jump around so much that nothing gets finished:lol:
Jan - re phrases you are assuming I am not a Northerner - but with a Yorkshire Mum and and a Geordie Dad most our family phrases originated in the Northern part of the country just further East than you:lol:

Those muffins sound lovely Katie, but daren't make anything like that in my house! DH would eat them all - well he would if they were choccie. I don't really eat stuff like that as it goes straight to all the wrong places!:lol:

From the quick look I did, do you really need THAT calendar. If you have a BIA you could use that or what I was thinking (as said only glanced) but as you cover it up, can you not get an old calendar or you can get 'recipe' book similar (maybe a different size)??? IYKWIM Just a thought.

is that all?? not bad was just thinking of anyone if they cant get one.
I have just got in touch with someone I used to work with on QVC and we emailed each other, really great, love it when you re make contact with someone you lost on your journey in life.
Right off to bed nite nite.
Thanks for that if I had a BIA I could just stamp a journalling stamp on thew blank side but i don't (never mind)
Off riding now catch ya later

Going ok. Weigh in tomorrow 6ish. So far have kept to mostly free foods and not felt I had to have my 10 syns per day. So after a bit of a relaxed weekend I stil have enough left to have a mini roll! I feel better in myself too. Digestion has improved and not so bloated. Still struggle to drink lots though. Hopefully will make up for that a bit tomorrow while I am at home.
