Blos that deposit is definately £100 as I have had an e.mail asking for it to be paid.

No I don't have the date Heather. I think we just agreed with Lorraine that it was September this year because it was September last year.

Lorraine hun? what were you told about the deposit? as it doesn't technically have to be paid til january i can't see how it matters if it's paid in lumps of £50.

I have sent you a copy. Reading it again I expect it can be paid in chunks as the total amount has to be paid by Jan but it did say that only the deposit would secure a place.

well yes but once you've registered your place is safe til then i think. i didn't pay my deposit til the january this year.

Cherry, i think thats just the standard letter you've got. if you email Sarah i'm sure she'll be ok with you paying it in installments when you can afford to. she is really nice and told us when we were there we could pay as and when.

Thats OK Lorraine it not that dire but I have spent so much on stash last month that I was planning a 'no spend on scrapping month' this month to recuperate.

Evening girls! DD has gone back to France and things are settling down again now - I do miss her when she goes home though! We are getting ready to go off on our holiday on Friday, so there's a general air of stuff all over the place ready for suitcases. It will be lovely to get some hot sunshine for a change though - am really looking forward to it and Ken is anxious to go too ... we are going on a cruise through the Suez Canal - or have I already bored you all with that little detail. Actually, I have been truly spoiled today because last December for my birthday my son and DIL gave me a voucher for a beauty salon place and today I "used" it. Had a splendid time - a full body massage (steady on Heather, not THAT sort!), an Indian Head Massage, a facial and a manicure. I haven't ever been anywhere like that before and didn't really know what to expect but it was absolute bliss!!! Wish I could afford to go again, but think it will have to wait until next birthday or Christmas. My son moves to Singapore on Thursday, so that will be a sad day for us as he has always lived just round the corner. His wife has been posted there with her job for 18 months and she is already there, so he is keen to join her. Good job he got the downstairs loo finished for us before he went!!

Have finished my jigsaw pieces for the Arty Farty Jigsaw Swap now - it was quite a challenge, but I am glad I joined and am quite pleased with the results. Not my usual stuff at all, but fun to do all the same. Wonder what pieces I shall get back then?

Hope you are all well and happy - sorry I haven't been about much but will try and make up for it when I return on 19th April. Take care all of you.

Hello everyone. Sorry I've not been around much lately...been really tired and then my pc just shut down and wouldn't let me in at all. DS did something to it but what seemed to do the trick in the end was switching it off at the wall. (Left it alone on the naughty step to think about what it had done;))anyway...when I switched back on hey presto...fixed it! (It had learned it's lesson)

Hello i'm here. I've had some early nights.

Sorry about last night Blos. I posted and then remembered I had left the contents of my suitcase over the bed and Fred wanted to go to sleep. By the time I had finished I was too Kna...ked to come back on. Scotland was really good but very boozy. I forgot to take my spare camera memory card and only had room to take half dozen photos but still enough to scrap a page so thats ok. Didn't go to Ally Pally today after all as was still too tired after the travelling. Will leave it until September as it will give me time to save up. Didn't need anything after my marathon spend up last month anyway. I think my money this month will be spent on scanning a pile of old black and white photos and getting my current ones printed. Fred is away tomorrow for the week as he is working away again. I don't think I will have time for another marathon scrap though but I do have some ideas for LO's so will see how I go. What are you doing and what have you got planned?

I know. How daft was that? The mountains looked beautiful as they were still snow capped and we did have some more snow while we were there. Can you book a day off in September so you can come to Ally Pally with us.

Don't you have extra days as holidays then? My leave entitlement was always a couple or so days over the whole weeks. ie. 5 weeks and 3 days so I could take the odd day here and there when needed. And then there was always flexi days and the occasional sickie.

I work permanent saturdays and there's already someone off that week which means no one else can have the time. It's a real nightmare and always creates arguments. It's the worst thing about working in retail and more so where i am now. i only work p/t so get the evialent of 4 weeks hols although this year it's changed with this new ec ruling on bank hols. All very confusing.

Retail is the worst job for a social life isn't it. Do you have to work late nights and Sundays as some do.

No late nights thankfully and at the moment only Sundays near Christmas. Our shopping centre isn't busy enough to warrant being open. They tried it last summer but it was pointless plus i refused to do any!!! It went down like a lead balloon hehehe.

Good for you. I know retail workers were promised that they wouldn't be forced into Sunday working when it was first introduced but I guess it isn't easy to refuse when it comes to the crunch. What sort of shop do you work in? When I first left BT I got a job in a florist's. Nice work but I freely admit to being institutionalised and couldn't cope with having to have my tea breaks on the hoof. Was used to proper timed tea breaks and a rest room to have them in. I only lasted a month then jacked it in and went into Customer Services with Royal Mail. Stress of a different level but thats another story altogether. I do work in a local Hospice shop on alternative Saturday afternoons and I love it. No pressure as all voluntary.

I'm in a jeweller's. It can have some very quiet times (like this afternoon) but we have to stand around waiting or deperately stave off boredom. You can only clean so often! At least we get teabreaks though. You were brave going into C/S for royal mail Lol

I certainly was. For my sins I was the union/health and safety rep as well. For the last few years I was on a full release from normal duties to do the union work though so I didn't have to cope with customers as well.

hello all well its looking quiet here sorry i didnt make it on last night but by the time we got back from ally pally and picked my niece up and then picked up the chinese and mc d's i was truely pooped and fell asleep on the sofa but it was a great day so it was worth it i have a feeling that my sis is coming in sept with me and mum as she was like a kid in a sweet shop ohhh and awww ing she got herself a cuttlebug so now i have to hide my dies as well as my stash lol

Hello Ladies. Back for my trip to Ireland. Had a fantastic time but missed you all too! Well it's true, Guinness does taste totally different in Dublin (and in Galway for that matter) had to have quite a few to make sure I liked it! We were on a coach trip and I was a bit worried that it might be a bit iffy but it was fab. Dublin and Galway...did I mention the Guinness?

Cherry, i'm fine, had a bad day with me ulcer yesterday but i'm fighting fit now:) some of my long awaited stash arrived today and i've been looking thru it cos it's some stuff to finish my mini word book for a pressie for a friend.

I am fine thanks. So glad it wasn't just me who got thrown off the site. What stash did you buy Blos? Super service from Scrapbook Shop you recommended. I ordered late on Monday night and it arrived here first thing on Wednesday. Went for my usual walk with my friend today. Did about 4/5 miles most of it against the wind so feel pleasantly knackered.

Yeah I do like it but I don't think they do a really chunky alpha that I like as much as the one I used at Craft Art when I was scrapping there or this one at the Southend crop.

Morning all! Back to this horrible grey and drizzly weather after a week of scorching sunshine and 35 degrees in Egypt and Jordan being spoiled for a bit! It was heaven - but I missed the chatting on here, of course! Ches, I think that chunky Southend Scrappers alphabet was my Sizzix Round Table one, which goes through the Cuttlebug too, of course, as they all do. It is the one I use most.
Hope everyone is fit and well and getting lots of scrapping done. I have taken literally hundreds of pictures of the Rose Red City of Petra in Jordan and also, natch, of the Pyramids and Sphynx - so plenty of scrapping there to be done .... but don't hold your breath. Got to do some washing first so we have some clean underwear!!! Back later tonight for a chat I expect.

the sizzix dies work in the sidekick which is about half the price of the cuttlebug:D but you can cut chipboard shapes out on the cuttlebug which you can't on a sidekick!

I looked on e.bay and the BIN price was £65 way out of my pocket at the mo so I will have to wait for that. The little sidekick would probably do me as its more portable than my Cricut to take to crops etc. so I may treat myself to that too....one day!!

Hi Guys...I've been without internet as my home hub thingy was up the creek. Spent several hours trying to sort it and considering repositioning the computer in the garden via the window. However I now have a new hub thingy (technical term) and have spent a good few frustrated minutes this morning setting the darn thing up.(Easy to follow on screen prompts...pah!!!) It would appear (if you are reading this) that I have been successful and am now interactive once more. Pain in the neck that I'm working tonight and won't be able to chat anyway.
My time off line was not wasted though...I finished off the heritage LOs from Harben and started another LO.
Glad you had a good time Patty sounds wonderful...looking forward to the photos.
Hope Catherine had a good time too.
By the way Heather I have a glass cutting mat and find it really useful for hand cutting...(cutting my hands that is:P)

Ches - I was at Southend Scrappers last night and we all decided that the chunky alpha you liked was, in fact, a very "one off" one bought by another friend of mine. Jackie said she thought it was made in China (!!) but she did say it was very like Round Table, which I will still bring with me! How are all the rest of you girls then? I have been busy in my little garden today trying to plant some of the stuff I have grown over the winter in the greenhouse. Garden is looking very springlike at the moment and the pond is full of tadpoles! Hope you are all well and happy.

no it isn't! it's wonderful:) i had a map drawn out last time, zigzagged thru most of yorkshire via craft shops. cost me a bomb in tea cakes tho cos everytime i found a craftshop i had to treat keith and kids to a drink and a cake while i was shopping!
