(not actually cutting but drawing!): stars and hand drawn swirls made with spline tool in Robo Master and drawn with silver Pentel pen. It should also work kiss cut/engraved on acetate and I'm going to try this method on some silver mirri card later - as someone recently suggested this also looks good.
I thought this might be used as a pointer to some other techniques/things to try in the challenge...
N.B. THIS TEMPLATE IS TO BE USED FOR DRAWING OR ETCHING ONLY - not for cutting, though you could modify and combine drawn swirls with cut stars.

I keep seeing swirls all over the place on LOs, cards, TV, carrier bags. So I have spent the past 2 weeks learning to do swirls in Illustrator. This was started in Illustrator, moved to Inkscape for drawing bezier curves etc and then saved as JPEG and traced in RoboMaster.
It is intended for a LO and I have included a separate butterfly to decorate as you choose.
I haven't tested it yet, I do have a LO in mind for the weekend, but if anyone cuts it before then please tell me if it needs tweaking.

Found another one I made while practising. Probably too big for a card, I made it for a LO.

Hi folks,
Whilst designing my new template I also incorporated this swirl which was inspired by the june challenge.
This can be resized if required ( I have used it as a smaller swirl).
This was hand drawn in Illustrator CS2 then converted to Robomaster via DXF ( this transfers alot smoother than inkscape dxf).
Thanks Lucille for the push to try more swirls, hope someone can use it.

This is one I did a few months ago but lost from pc when it crashed. I have just found is on external harddrive lol.
This was designed in Illustrator CS2 then saved as .dxf to bring into RM.
The pink is to cut out as a layer the black was what was lef when I ungrouoed in cs2 and I thought you may want to use as an aperature in a card maybe.
Hope its of some use
regards

I couldn't upload this swirl GSD file to my previous post (along with the cards I made from it) as I was only allowed a maximum of 5 attachments. I'm uploading it now in case it is useful.
Love all the other challenge swirl designs so far btw, they're all so classy, :) and Dixie your faux chipboard effect looks really great.

Finally got the time to try out Lucille's Swirls in Inkscape tut. I printed screen and saved as a jpeg, it cuts so much smoother and quicker than saving as a dxf file. I now have an addiction to swirls.

Hello everyone,
Finally, my first attempt at a challenge, Here is my attempt at the June challenge. It is hand drawn and traced in robomaster, can be used intact or broken apart and used seperatly. Had to send as a zip file as it was too large to send any other way
I cant test cut it as my hubby has moved me cutting mats and cant remember where he has put them, all he remembers is that they are somewhere safe. We have searched the house for them.
Hope you like it

Lucille, I managed to find a tutorial online showing how to do it like you said. I had a play tonight and came up with this.
I don't know if it's actually any use, but I'm chuffed as it's my first ever swirl! I haven't cut it, so hopefully it cuts okay.
Now I can go to bed happy!

I hope that I have put these up in the correct place and that they are what Mary Anne was asking for. These are some swirls in DXF format so that they can be welded in various software packages to make your own custom swirl designs.
Let me know if it's not right!

Hi,
I'm slowly learning bits and pieces about the Robo. Still with little real idea of what I should be doing, but I managed to make these wee flourishes tonight and they even cut out!!!! B)
They fit on a 6 inch square placed in top left corner as it feeds into the machine.

This was made using a Ding called Designer Motifs. It isn't as typed it has been altered by deleting, adding and nudging nodes around. I have made it to use on a scrapbook LO so it is quite large over 4½" in height.
The one with pearls was decorated by me, but I still haven't decided if the butterfly stays or not, the flowers are from some cheap shop and the one with the coloured butterfly was decorated by my daughter using star shaped lilac gems and prima flowers.
Just a simple topper with mat but may be useful, font is lp flowers

I have spent a good hour this morning catching up with what everyone has been doing in this challenge and all I can say is WOW!!!!
I have seen some many lovely pictures of the files created (sadly I am still running 2.4 lol so cannot open most of them) that after spending the first half of the month telling myself to create I file I have finaly sat done and done one.
The font used is eutemia ornaments and I d/l from dafont
It has been put together in illustrator so you will not need the font to use the file. It has taken me a while to put together as all the inside cutouts were 1 piece which is great for removing when using vinyl but a nightmare with card so I had to go back and rejig so that it was easier to remove the middle pieces.
The middle is a bit fragile so gently does it with the weeding lol.
hope its of some use

I've made a swirl  using the spiro tool to make the swirl, my old trusty heart file and a swirl from my swirl collection welded everything together, duplicated then offset path using Inkscape ;)
I'm not sure how small this will cut as it was made for a LO and is about 6" wide.
