My sis ordered some stuff from craft superstore and it got to her the next day with a 20 percent discount too, really excellent service.

I live in the west midlands and there is not a SINGLE craft shop by me. I have to go to hobbycraft (booo) in wolvo or Wyevale Garden Centre in Telford (craft central)

Afternoon!

We have had loads of snow but it's fast melting now.

Have spent the morning shredding old bills etc and now off to Tesco for a USB hub - mine has packed in.

Bought another HP PSC yesterday as still not able to get the scanner on my old one to work even though the software has been updated.... The trouble is the old one prints much better photos ( they are both supposed to be photoprinters....... ) so I am slowly drowning in hardware at the moment. Still it was reduced from £119 to £45!

We still have bits of snow lying about but it has nearly all gone now.

Went out last night to see a band called Show of Hands. They were really good. It was in what used to be a very smoky club in Oxford - I was amazed to see what a difference the smoking ban has made - I used to come home and put all my clothes in the washing bit I'm wearing the trousers to work today. Mind you, you still stick to the beer on the floor!

Where is everyone today? Having a good time I hope. I'm NOT. Have been to the eye hospital and after having been told I could drive when I went in September the Dr didn't make a note of the fact and the person I saw today says I have to have another eye test which will happen next week but I probably will not get the result until May & I can't drive until then! Hiya everyone sorry I haven't been about but i've been trying to sort my bedroom out ready for the cyber crop but it just seems to be getting messier! I am slowly getting there though!

Sorry to hear about your driving Anni. It seems that there is so much miscommunication in the medical proffession and it frightens me! When I was pregnant the consultant had wrote all over my files I was a smoker and needed to be seen for an emergency scan. After waiting 3 hours for the scan the nurse took one look through my files, asked if I smoked (no, never) and sent me home!

How you doing Wendy I keep checking your blog but no news :) Have you done any scrapping yet!

Well I did look when they arrived but I had to put them back in the box and hide them in the cupboard. Tim already thinks I have a problem with the amount of stash I have. :lol: I shall have a sort through this week whilst the kids are off! :)

My weight is exactly the same which is good because the diet hasn't started yet. I have been conditioning myself for it by drinking more water and trying to be more active in my life.

I feel really excited and ready to go with the diet I just need to get the funds and then I am ready to go!

Diet starts SUNDAY! I am frightened!

Is there no-one else who wants to declare their weight xx. lbs to me via PM to keep self-motivated?!

ANYBODY DONE THE CHALLENGE??

Am going to an all day crop on Saturday so ill do mine then and both CJ's I have waiting. One is about Shakespeares Sonnets. As I don't know many and I'm one of the last in the book I had to get out the complete works and have a read - I didn't know that the first hundred or are dedicated to a man (the fair youth) and the remainder to a dark lady - it looks like poor old Anne Hathaway didn't get a look in. The book I have explains the language and I have to say that they are not exactly squeaky clean!!

I know you need to use Staz on for stamping on acetate etc and Brilliance for embossing but what would you use for general stamping. i.e. stamping an image that you want to colour with pens/paints etc!

I assume that I need a fast drying ink that is waterproof! But which one would that be? I'm confused! :rolleyes:

Had a nice day today - went to an all-day crop and finally managed to get the CJ on Shakespeare's Sonnets finished and three other LO's as well. Quite pleased with myself!!

Ordered a one-off studio calico kit last Friday and was amazed to find it in the hall when I got home. Looks like really good value for money and lots of things I haven't seen before. Am very tempted to cancel the scrapagogo kit and have this one instead. Didn't get charged any customs duties either!

Thought I would upload Lo's to my gallery but for some reason only one of them is showing a thumbnail on the masthead, the others are showing 'no thumbnail' though I loaded them in exactly the same way. Any thoughts?

Gardening today - David is 50 next month and making noises about having a BBQ for lots of people.....at the moment the garden looks like a bomb's dropped and the lawn seems to have disappeared over the winter & a mud-bath has arrived in it's place. Me, I'd rather spend the money going out as I know who will be doing the cooking and there's an all day crop scheduled for the Saturday of that weekend!

your theme can be whatever you choose, you just use the sc kits to do your entry, that way, when you get your cj back its full of sc loveliness:D

I had a look at it but can't decide! I had a bit of a play with the Robo the other day and quite surprised myself but its still not as easy as the bug! I think I've decided to keep it for now though! :rolleyes:

I've always been the one to say how fab the robo is, but aftger installing this software I don't need to buy another font again, which is what I like about the robo!

I've got so many busy weekends coming up I don't know whether I'm coming or going. The wedding stationery is going well - Sally and I managed to cut out & ink 20 of the day time ones. Then I've got the table decs to do, help do with the wedding cake, go on a hen weekend, evening invites to make, go to a concert or two :rolleyes:, go away to Disney, cruise in Aug....there's just sooo much coming up!

Well, nothing to show I'm afraid! Still mulling over the 'Sure Cuts Alot'. I ended up downloading Inkscape and having a play. Thought I might be able to make more of my Robo! I think its either very confusing or I'm very thick and to all those who already have it and find it easy please do not comment on that! :lol:

OMG, thats loads! :)

I'm grumpy now cos I've just had my bank on the phone telling me that my cc details have been compromised! :blink: Apparantly the fraud protection unit have been intouch with them to tell them that my cc details have now been well and truely knicked! :blink: I wouldn't mind, as the bank have been brilliant and refused some dodgy looking requests for authorisation so nothing has actually gone through, but they have obviously had to stop my cards etc and now I can't shop until I have new ones! :( I wanted those monkey stamps too! :(

Apparantly the first transaction came up with a name that they already new to be fraudulent! The second one was for Tescos. I had done an internet shop and someone tried to get authorisation on the same amount under the same name. They were asked (thinking it was tescos) to complete a security check and they refused, hense they were suspicious. Then I'm told that the police contacted them and notified them that my details were being used fraudulently! :blink: I got confused to be honest, I'm just thankful that nothing passed through!

not feeling very sociable lately so sorry ladies....in 4 days it will be 4 years to the day that my lost baby would have been born...although it was early in the pregnancy it doesnt make a difference to me,it was my child and is still hard sometimes..although i look at caoilainn now and thank god we have her:):):)

been so busy this weekend, harley joined the 'reindahlen mini rhino's' rugby team yesterday...omg, hes so tiny!! he thouroughly enjoyed it though, so every sunday will be spent on the rugby pitch now lol.
when we came home he was so hyped up, he then learnt to ride his bike without stabalizers.........:blink::D

Well when someone's gone to a lot of trouble you can't just leave it!!

Most of the pictures I took this weekend were of tulips!! We went to the Kurkenhoft which is a huge Spring garden in the middle of the bulb fields & I just couldn't stop taking pictures!! I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with them all! We also went to Den Haag & met up with some old friends.

We had a river trip, which was good, a walking tour around Breda, and were out for a safari supper on Friday.

The whole party, about 60 of us,went to one house for starters- it was an amazing place - I guess late 18th century - The woman who owns it lives on the first floor and lets the ground floor for very special functions. She had (literally) got out the red carpet and had about 8 staff in dinner jackets going around with canape and drinks!! Our main course was at a house owned by a lovely german couple - Herman and Analise - and we were joined by a young dutch couple and an Italian general who had worked at NATO in Brussels & his wife who said nothing but smiled a lot. We finished up at another house which I reckon was about 3-4 times the size of ours!!

The main point of the weekend was to get the other clubs to agree to provide funding for a huge project which David's Rotary club are undertaking - effectively refurbishing 10 African villages. Anyway, they agreed!!

I would laugh so much if someone was called Herman, I don't know why it is just such a funny name! You could do a big collage of like.. 16 0.8inch squares of flowers I bet that would look so beautiful.

I would love to have my own staff haha! A diet would be easy then!

Over the last few years David's club have spent about £15,000 on major works in one village in Uganda - they have refurbished the school providing furniture, books loos etc and accommodation for teachers - they have also provided a well, water harvesting equipment, and enclosed stoves so that the children get a hot meal at school. They have provided brick making materials so that villagers can build proper stoves (which use a fraction of the fuel used by open fires) so children do do not have to spend time looking for wood or getting water & can go to school.
They have helped local farmers by training some individuals as 'farmer trainers' and initially providing tools and this year a micro-credit scheme so that farmers can buy good seeds and stock for farming.

There is a scheme whereby Rotary International will provide 90% grants for work of this type so the plan is to do 10 villages, which will affect the lives of literally thousands of people, over the next two years, at a cost of about£150,000. The clubs - one in Holland, one (us) in the UK, and one, possibly 2 in Italy, plus a club in the south of France have to go out and raise at least £15,000 in the meanwhile. As someone put it, the cost it pretty much the same as it would cost to buy all the villagers a coffee in Starbucks!

Anyway, the scheme is going ahead!

That is amazing Anni, I always love to hear about things like this. Before I had the children I was always spending my time doing charity events and appearing on radio etc. I love to help charities as it is such a major snowballing effect. My tiny little bit makes a huge difference to them. My brother is the head of sports at Wolverhampton Uni and he has just finished a football tournament for the British Heart Foundation and Sports Relief which made me feel guilty for not doing something since I had the kids.

Keep us updated I would love to hear about how it goes. What a wonderful thing to achieve.
