I had that at the beginning of the week took an aspirin for health benefits, felt so ill after it had to even change sides of where I sleep so I could get to the bathroom quicker.

Nice sunny weather here.

Jane it just lasted all Sunday night & through the night, still didn't feel brill on Monday real stomach ache. Won't take aspirin ever again.
It says on the back can prevent heart disease, various cancers that is what made me take one. Gordon had one he was fine.
My stomach felt as if i had eaten 1000 peapods.

Hope you feel better soon, not nice when you are running to the toilet all the time.

I see Irene has been on your blog Jane.

Hello :)
Have a good time Maureen.
Hope you're continuing to improve Jane :) Dawn, your reaction to the aspirin sounds awful :(
Lovely stash Andi :)
Yes, it's CKU Houston I'm going to :D Less than two months away now :) Funny thing - Tim's teaching a class where you make a memory mirror. And the mirror he is basing it on is a £1 from Ikea one that I've already altered 3 times in different ways!:lol: Guess I'll have done it 4 times soon!

DawnS
02-04-2008, 06:46 PM
That is a great prize.
Is that the class you have booked with him Hils, that is a shame you already know how to do it.
I dont envy you trying to get a mirror back in one piece, lots of bubblewrap required.

Not been on here, Scrap-a-ganza have changed the times of their classes. A lot of confused people.

Hi girls,

Nasty tummies - Dawn and Jane, hope you're much better today. :( Sounds rough.

Andi, playing with a "tranny" on the drive

Lovely sunny day here today - took the children out this morning geocaching. They had such fun - it was so muddy where we had to go and they enjoyed sploshing about in it, so did we:lol: Got a photo - will letyou see when I get it uploaded.

Evening, been AWOL as have been taking the children here there & everywhere before they go back to school monday, having a good time although today ended with a trip to A&E and a black eye for bug:( he was happily sliding down these huge slides at a local fun park when he twisted and came down with his right eye scraping along the slide all the way down, he has a nasty cut on his eyelid and it was very swollen not sure how bruised it's going to be tomorrow but he's fine and seems to have recovered quite well from it! just got to keep an eye on him for the usual 24 hours.
Hope the poorly tummys get better soon, dh has been taking imodium instead of food today in the hope his stomach doesn't get any worse! I'm hoping it won't get any worse it's bad enough now:lol:
Have a nice time Maureen if I haven't already missed you

Dawn, I expect I'll know some of the techniques Tim uses but it'll still be great to do a class with him - he just seems so enthusiastic and knowledgable, I'm sure there'll still be several things for me to learn :)
CKU has changed this year and sounds much better. Everyone does all the classes, the only thing you choose is which album track to do. And the "Inspiration Stations", which are half-hour sessions, a bit like a make n take I guess, used to mean queuing but now the students stay in the same room and seats and the tutors move around! Hope the confusion re Scrapaganza is sorted out soon.
Annie, can you tell me a bit more about geocaching? I've heard of it but don't think I've quite got the hang of what it is!
Maria, poor Bug. Hope it doesn't swell up too much.
I dunno, all these tummy bugs :( I'm not well again either  I suspected last week that dh was suffering from two different things at once, and looks like I was right, cos I now have the cough thing that he had. Bad chesty cough, and now a really achy neck and ear ache (inside and out - made even worse when you need to wear specs....) So I'm in bed now and already thinking about logging off and going to sleep....
Let's hope everyone feels much better tomorrow. I def need to be better by Sat cos it's the 24 hour charity crop!

bet you was thinking of Maria's hubbies paper undies weren't you ???

GeordieGirl
03-04-2008, 12:40 AM
Whilst I was on all fours picking the blighters up I came nose to nose with a huge spider scuttling from under my bed, me being me went into over-panic and knocked not just the brads that I had been picking up but the jar of buttons onto the floor trying to stand back up. So now there is glass, buttons, brads, a massive spider and me screaming and my poor brother trying deperatley to get 1 leg in his pants whilst dragging Sally's pink dressing gown behind him and trying to cover up his manhood and Dad who has legged it from the utility room all in my little room with me trying to get out and general pandemonium.

All is serene and calm again.

I wonder if Maria has made him some paper pants? HA HA HA has she been using her Fancy Pants papers    I nearly peed my pants thinking of it

Hope you are feeling better by Saturday Hils I know you like your cropping time I would stay in bed & sleep as much as you can, usually helps a great deal.
IAm sure you will learn lots from sir Tim ,hope you win some freebies.

How do you geocache Anne heard of it too?

Did anyone watch the Apprentice tonight what did you think of the female project manager?
I could feel myself getting angry, she reminded me of the person I worked with.

Morning:)

Andi I'm sorry but I have been laughing rather loudly at the thought of the chaos going on in your room last night:lol: hope you found the spider, all brads & buttons have been accounted for for and you haven't done too much damage to your back in the excitement!

Bugs eye is bruised today and still a bit puffy but he's fine:) I watched the apprentice last night Dawn, I'm not sure any of the women have the means to win it from what I've seen so far and that project manager is a nasty piece of work and should have been booted out last night but I guess she makes interesting telly;) I can't really see what Lucinda did that was so wrong for her to be on the receiving end of that crap!

Going to take the children out later for an hopefully fairly uneventful day:lol: somewhere!
As for dh he's feeling a bit better and has gone to work with his imodium again:) not sure about the paper pants though:lol:

Hils
03-04-2008, 12:07 PM
Morning :) You've made me laugh too what with all that talk of paper pants and brothers with dressing gowns and very little else on!
Taken the day off today cos I'm not feeling much better - hopefully doing very little all day will help the recovery process :)
Jane, how are you feeling now?

GeordieGirl
03-04-2008, 01:17 PM

Yes it was very funny (well after the spider went the distance) :)

Mitchy
03-04-2008, 01:34 PM
ROFL that was so funny.

And Maria, paper knickers remind me of when my sister had her first. She was quite an earth mother type, and my mum was finding some of her ideas (none of which were weird) a bit confusing.

Susan had heard that paper knickers from the National Childbirth Trust were advisable immediately post labour. My mum told all her friends about her CTS knickers (catholic truth society!!!!) it was hilarious.

Hope the poorly peeps - including wee Rowan - feel better soon.

M

  Andi - that made my morning!

Maria, hope little Bug is feeling better - he might be proud of a black eye, though, knowing boys.

Hope you're feeling better today, Hils. And all the other poorly peeps!!

Hils and Dawn - check out Geocaching.com/uk - and there's a thread on here too. Basically, it's like going to a nice long walk but following clues etc and finding "treasure" at the end. We tried it with our sat.nav. but it's not so accurate; it got us into it, however, and we've just bught a proper GPS thingy! Much more accurate and easy to use. Have a look at the site and have a go - it's great fun!

Hope you're all having a nice day - still sunny and warm here.

It has been like summer it has been so warm today spent the day doing the garden.
Weeding for a start, oh so mny weeds have grown over the winter months
Looking much better, that is the worst having a biggish garden (half an acre) does take a while to do.Planting spring bedding.

It is not as pretty as your mums yet Andrea her garden is very neat, ours is only 5 years old still need to plant heaps more.
Have a new greenhouse taking cuttings when it is the right time.
Box hedging that is expensive to buy, have a lot of the bushes to make an italian type garden but still need more.

I wonder if they geocache up here. Sounds good fun to be in the outdoors.

Hope you are nearly better Jane.

Paper knickers don't mention them I bought pairs for being in labour, only thing is they have no stretched they just ripped on me.
Had to get my mum to buy knickers & bring them in.

Look forward to seeing you.

The house challenge for April is up now.

So congrats to Anna - commiserations to Cassie.

Great photo Mitchy:) hope everyone is feeling better today. Evie had her tonsils and adinoids(sp?) removed yesterday in the hope it will help her not get so many chest infections, she gets tonsilitus alot which then leads to a full on chest infection and a big does of steriods in the hospital so fingers crossed by taking her tonsils out it stops all the other stuff happening.
She was supposed to come home last night but they kept her in and hopefully she'll be allowed home today:)

Morning  Had a letter from the consultant at the hospital this morning saying the MRI scan showed I have a slipped disc and I have now been referred to the North Eastern Neurological Specialists at another hospital across in Newcastle. I'm so pleased that it's this and not cancer or a tumour which was what I was scared of. Hopefully they will see me soon when I will beg them for an operation and I'll be back at work in a flash :) Or something along those lines anyway

What you all doing, have you all fallen off the edge of the world and left only me and Brodders - and the rest of the nutters on UKS

We have made a family pact to diet - again. Me and Mam and Sally got weighed on Friday night and it was bad, really bad . I'm still a stone and a half lighter than I was when I first went to weight watches 3 years ago but I had lost almost 5 stone so I have been very naughty. Anyway, lettuce leaves and branflakes will be my new best friends.

Hope you get your op.

Been at a crop & actually managed to complete a few items.
It was scrap-a-ganza kits I was finishing off.
We had a good laugh at the crop as we normally do.

Quiet Maureen is away.
Hils at her 24 hour crop hopefully.

Anne busy with her grandchildren.
Mitchy is normally around, maybe she is christening that rug of hers.

Havw been awake since 2am got a trapped nerve or something in my neck and the pain is shooting into my arm back and shoulder blade when I move feels exptremely painfully:( I guess it'll clear up at some point don't really know what to do about a trapped nerve!

Hi all - see what we woke up to this morning!! Had to take a piccie as it's so unusual for us to get snow. It's all gone now and the sun is shining:rolleyes:

Andi, glad its "only" a slipped disc but at least it's something they should be able to sort out for you. Maria, sounds so painful - probably only painkillers will help and take it easy.:(

Hi :)
Dawn, you made me laugh with the references to paper knickers and rug christenings (hopefully not at the same time!) And Andi, you're a naughty girl :nono::lol::lol::lol:
Good that you've got a diagnosis for your back - cancer or a tumour hadn't even occured to me, but I can understand why it might to you. Like you say, hopefully you can have an op and be almost back to normal once you've recovered (well, as normal as you're ever gonna be....! :P:lol:)
Pretty hard to lose weight if you can't exercise :/ Jane, my family all eat what they want at the moment too - dh is prone to putting on weight but not while he's in training for a marathon (which is next week....)
Maria, hope your trapped nerve recovers very soon.
Annie, we had snow too - more than you, which is very unusual for Cheltenham. DH and the kids went out before 8 and made a big snowman. It's all gone again now though - the sky is blue, the sun is shining and you wouldn't know it had snowed at all.
The crop was fun yesterday. I stayed for just under 12 hours, left just after 9. Still not right healthwise :( - feel absolutely exhausted today  So I was quieter than usual (even I have quiet days!) but did get 10 LOs done :D Glad your crop went well Dawn :)

Hi all, sorry I have been off the radar.

Andrea, so glad it is 'only' a slipped disc. Here's hoping you get an op date soon to fix it.

Sympathies on the weight loss, mine has been a bit stop and start (mainly cos that is how I am doing the diet, stop and start lol) but I lost 2 and a half pounds last night, must adjust the ticker.

Maureen, lovely wee book, glad pluscarden was nice. My mum flew off to north carolina yesterday for three weeks in the sun, which I think she will find even more restful than a retreat!

Everyone else HELLO! I am busy right now as I am acting editor ... I had to finish putting out last week's issue and this one is entirely mine, so not much time to pop onto the boards at work, even in lunchtime, though I do read all the email alerts.

LOL - you beat me to it Maureen! I was gonna offer to look after some of it for Andi! Are those the paintable papers or transparencies Andi? Quite fancy having a go with the transparencies and a bit of alcohol ink - maybe with some perfect pearls mixed in for a hint of bling..... :D
DD was sick again this am  but seems to have been OK since, other than a few probs the other end.... She's had a bath and is now tucked up in bed :) I'm gonna go keep her company for a bit after I've finished checking the posts on here :)
Annie, I'm seriously impressed at all your getting/keeping fit activities - I need to follow the excellent example you are setting :)

Yes Mitchy, it's for Prima hybrid. Hils the pieces at the back are paintables. Have you seen the 6x6 paintables at Prima hybrid? A few of the girls have printed these onto inkjet transparencies

Hils
09-04-2008, 10:35 AM
LOL Andi - I think you could be right! Are you going to order his CD? :)
Must re-check out the Prima hybrid site - great idea to print them out on transparencies :) Bet they'd make fab cards..... :D
Working from home today cos dd still isn't feeling well. She's not had any running to the loo probs since yesterday, but says she still feels very sick :( Poor thing. Jane, I'm really hoping I don't get it too! Hate being sick. We're all keeping our fingers crossed that it's a one-off, cos dh is running the London Marathon on Sunday, and being ill is the last thing he needs.
Sun is shining here today - hope it's doing the same where you are, esp Annie so you have a lovely bike ride :)

Hi girls,

Andi - you made me laugh out loud at Sir Tim and his fancies! Think you're right though, shame.

Hils, sorry to hear you DD is still feeling poorly - and do hope that DH is OK for Sunday. I love watching the marathon - what's his number and we can look out for him. Not much chance I know but you never know

Thumb is fine , luckily I heal up really quickly. Bike ride was great - another 12 miles clocked up; it was so nice being out in the sunshine and we found a great trail to go on that used to be a railway line so it was nice and flat! I don't like hills :( (Not you, Hils!!)

The Prima paintables sound interesing, must go and have a little look.

Maureen, not long now - but your're right, where does the time go? Nathan will be at senior school next year - I just can't believe it.

Been busy with PAye & year end paper work.

Have a party coming up end of June the person wanted earlier but can't manage till then. Iam lucky having someone come with me it is an area I don't know well.
Feel happier with someone I know, believe it or not Iam a shy person underneath.

Have a nice crop Maureen & Mitchy.

Glad Caitie is on the mend again, not nice being sick.
You must be getting excited about CKU are you Hils?
Which airline are you flying with?

Phew ... home and all done ... wasn't half as bad as I thought lol.

One of my colleagues has got 'my' old job, so looks like a wee reshuffle again at work.

So, inspire me for my crop ladies, what should I do?

Oh, and on Tuesday I take my knee to the hospital - well, I can hardly leave it behind, to find out if surgery is necessary. I kind of hope it is, if it
is a guaranteed cure.

Can you not just pop it out and send it by courier? :)

Mini book, cards, altered tin, cards, wall hanging, cards, altered letter for DDs bedroom door, cards?

I'm so bored. I'm having conversations with myself. It's raining and cold and I hurt my back last night so I'm not having a good day and we're waiting for bro to come back in from working so I can't even fill half an hour eating my tea. Ho Hum. I'm making cards but I've just covered a whole pile of pieces of paper in glossy accents and now I can't do anything cos I left them in the middle of my cutting mat to dry and can't pick them up.

Have I bored you yet ?

Mitchy
10-04-2008, 07:09 PM

Glad your editing went well Mitchy :) You must be excited at the thought of seeing the paper in print, it being your baby and all :) Good luck at the hospital with the knee :)
Poor Andi - must be hard not being able to do much :( Not surprised you're bored. Do you play computer games? They might help relieve the boredom? There are lots that you can play for free online - Jewel Quest Solitaire is one of my faves, keeps me quiet for hours!
Dawn, PAYE and end of year paperwork sounds pretty boring too! To be honest I'm trying not to get too excited about CKU. We were very excited about Scrapaganza last year, and were a bit disappointed in the end - probably because our expectations were too high, iykwim? So I'm trying not to have too high expectations so I can be pleasantly surprised when I get there! Apparently Lisa Bearnson is going now, don't know what she's doing there tho (embarrassing another of her kids, maybe?!) We're flying with Continental - there aren't many direct flights and we really didn't want to have to change flights. Still 10 hours tho
Caitie is currently trying to eat some dinner - she's much better than she was, but says she still feels poorly. I expect she'll feel better tomorrow cos she's off to her grandparents for a week! I'm driving her up to my parents in Leicester tomorrow, then next Weds dh's parents are picking her up and taking her off to their place in Stoke. We're going to Stoke next Sat and will come back, with daughter, on Sunday :) So I won't be around tomorrow...

Ooh 10 hours that is a killer, I thought 8.5 to Florida was bad.
Least they will have plenty channels to watch no doubt.
I mainly watched where we were going on the map & counting down to touchdown.
Is CKU held in the galleria shopping mall? it's huge my twin sis has been.
I didn't enjoy last years scrapa so much either had a few dud classes.
This year the classes looks better, will really miss Irene not being there though.
Did you do Lisa B class last year, I decided not to, I just had visions of the teeth coming towards.
Irene said she went on a bit she got up & walked out.

I do hate the paperwork involved with my husband being self employed.

Hi :)

Well done on the weight loss Andi, that's really good especially considering you can't exactly get a lot of exercise at the moment :)
Sweet little box Mitchy :)
Dawn, hope the paper work is finished soon. Yes, I did do Lisa B's "class" last year - it wasn't really a class tho, her helpers handed out the kit and she talked a lot and embarrassed her son by trying to find someone of a similar age to him among the audience! Hope you enjoy Ganza more this time :)
CKU is at the Galleria - 4th biggest mall in the States! Don't think we'll be stuck for something to do while we're there! The hotel is the Westin, looks fab - it's not cheap but you get a discount if you're staying for CKU, plus we're sharing a room to keep the cost down.
DD is better now thanks, on the whole, and is now up with my folks - won't see her till next Sat  She'll have more fun with her grandparents than having to hang around my office all week though :)
Annie, you asked what number dh is in the marathon - he is 43175 and he'll be wearing an orange Sense vest (which has a blue block at the bottom) with an orange T-shirt under it. You'd do well to sport him out of 50,000 runners tho - not sure if I will and I'll be there!:lol:

Thanks for all the good luck wishes for dh - they must have worked cos he finished in 4hrs 30, despite struggling for a lot of the time. (He's got a calf injury and only finished the anti-biotics for a chest infection a few days ago ) He's limping around the house now and is obviously tired and achey, but he's glad he did it. He says he won't be doing it again though!
DS and I are quite tired too - it's surprisingly hard work chasing someone around a very crowded London! The underground was manic - at some places they were not letting people into the stations for a while because they were so packed  (not good for two claustrophobes.....)
So, dh is working from home today, ds is still on his school hols and I'm off too, so a quiet day at home today :)
Sounds like you had a very busy weekend Mitchy - not surprised you are also tired and achy!

Jane ... I was the same ... a sure sign of age!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess what I am doing today ????????? PACKING .... yes I know AGAIN!!!!!!!!

AMY is 12 today .... no longer my baby :( On Sunday at the crop she suddenly said " Only 367 days till I am a teenager "!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was laughing, When you are young you are dying to get older and whn you are older you wish you were younger :o

Got a suitcase of medication to take again!!! Guess the security will love that .... might get a full body search :P

Catch you all later Have a good day

Hils

Morning :)
Maureen - are you going somewhere?!
Amy will always be your baby, however old she gets :) LOL at her counting the days till she's a teenager tho!
I knew Mark Speight from Smart. There's no reason why you would know who he was if you didn't have kids who watched kids TV tho (unless you watched kids TV with no excuse for it!). I know today that I am getting old, cos I went to pump up the tyre on my new (second-hand) bike and broke the valve :( It seems bicycle technology has moved on since I last had to do any sort of bike maintenance! So I'm off to buy a new inner tube at lunchtime - and have had to use the car as usual for getting to work instead of having the healthier option :(

Morning all, at work so can't chat for long.

Maureen, have a lovely holiday ... is it today you go?

I saw my orthopod today and will get knee surgery in the late summer, I think. I will be off my leg/off my work, a lot longer than I suspected, with up to six weeks in plaster and lots andl ots of physio.

Hopefully, though, it will mean never dislocating my kneecap again, which would be fab. He did say my arthritis, which I already am showing signs of, is inevitable and there isn't anything he or I can do about it. :(

M

Hils
15-04-2008, 12:18 PM
Trying to work out if that is good or bad news Mitchy
Good news that it shouldn't dislocate again, bad news re the 6 weeks in plaster, lots of physio and the arthritis :( Still, I guess if it's an improvement that's got to be good :)
Andi, have you heard anything about the next stage for fixing your back yet?

Maureenp
15-04-2008, 12:42 PM
Mitchy ..... I go tomorrow :0

Sorry to hear about your knee. You will have to spend the 6 weeks sitting and scrapping:huh: You have my sympathy abut Arthritis .... It's the pits.

GeordieGirl
15-04-2008, 01:10 PM
I'm pleased you've got your op sorted Mitchy, summer is a nice time to be off work - you can sit in your garden all day getting a sun tan. You'll have to remember to buy a bottle of fake tan to put on your leg when you get your plaster off otherwise you'll have wonky coloured legs

My brother was rugby player when he was at school, he played for the local team. He dislocated his knee cap in a match, he had a whole load of problems and had to have a few ops but he had his leg in plaster for about 3 months from toe to thigh and it was bent at a funny angle and then follow up physio for what seemed like months. When they took the plaster off his leg was so skinny where the muscles had wasted away.

Have fun today with your packing Maureen (I hate packing and unpacking)and then when you go away xx

Mitchy
15-04-2008, 01:17 PM
Thanks everyone ... I think overall it is good news, cos I spend my life not doing things just in case I dislocate as I have done if so often, and it will be lovely to be free of that worry (and the pain that goes with it).

The arthritis thing is pants, but hey ho, it might not kick in big time for decades yet (yeah right!). :D :D

Scrapping for three months ... ys, I had better start shopping and layout planning now :D

They did say and 18 week waiting list, but he took a note of my holiday dates and said it won't be till after that ... probably August at the earliest.

Oh, I might get it done at Strathcathro, which is nowhere near me but apparently is one of the indpendent units they sometimes use.

Hils Thanks for that,I only wanted to say that I will miss seeing Mark on the tv as watching smart was a regular thing in this house over the years and Mark is someone I liked watching funny, smiley, creative and I shall miss seeing him:( to be honest whatever anyones beliefs I can't see how anyone knows really what is going on after here iyswim!!!! so I dont think that either by saying that Mark & Natasha are either together again or will not be together because of how he died is helpful to anyone!!!!!! who the bl**dy hell knows for sure!!!!! would I get mega slated or what!!!!!

Definitely mega-slated! Personally I think that if that's what people believe, then why on earth not? In circumstances like this it offers one of probably very few crumbs of comfort. Might have to record that film Andi - sounds like a good one for me and dd to watch together :) Can't remember if I've seen it though  who's in it? My fave girly films give my age away! Dirty Dancing, Beaches, Ghost and An Officer and a Gentleman :) Plus Pretty Woman . (Can you see a theme occuring there.....?!)
Talking of films, I'm feeling guilty. Took the kids to see Horton Hears a Who last week, and said I'd take ds to see Meet the Spartans this week. DS didn't enjoy Horton, but still sat through it without complaining, and even thanked me for taking him  But now Meet the Spartans isn't on and he's understandably disappointed :(

Hi everyone,

I've missed Maureen - but hope she has a great time.

Good news re your knee op, Mitchy, hope it goes well for you.

Just catching up on all your chat - I miss a day and there's so much going on!! Spent yesterday on the pc doing my family research, and found out loads more, so I'm a happy bunny:D Just got to update my files and do a backup just in case the worst happens and the pc crashes

Beautiful day here today so we may be able to get out into the garden later. DH is feeling poorly - he has a terrible cold and sore throat so no cycling today. He is going to a "silver surfers" get together at our local computer shop after lunch - there's a lot of us about

Yes it is Hils, the May bank holiday, I would like a fairly central hotel.
What would you recommend to do in the centre of Amsterdam?
I know you have been with your scrapping friends.
Iam glad I can get to Keukenhof & see the tulip fields.
Celebration of our 40th birthdays.

It will be the first time we away without our children.

Hils
16-04-2008, 03:11 PM
Wow, the first time away without children? It'll be extra special for you then :)
We only had a day in Amsterdam. We walked around the Jordan (sp?) district, which was lovely - very quiet and picturesque. The canal boats are a great way to see the city, and we went to the Rijksmuseum for a bit of culture too! We saw the outside of the Anne Franks museum, but it was quite disppointing really. Most of the museum building is modern, and even when you look at the older bit from the street you can see fluorescent lights inside. One of my colleagues has been inside and says a lot of it is not what you'd expect. But then so many people go each year that it must have something going for it! The flower market was quite touristy too - should be renamed the hash plant market! So I think going to see the tulip fields instead is a great idea - I bet they'll look fantastic.
It's a lovely city tho - seemed very peaceful, with lots of lovely streets to stroll around and discover things in :) I've no doubt you'll have a lovely time :)
Here's a link with lots of info - you've prob already found it, but just in case :) http://www.holland.com/amsterdam/

GeordieGirl
16-04-2008, 03:14 PM
In the middle of the city there is a big monument - I think for the war - and on the corner of one of the streets there is a supermarket that sells enourmous huge bags of percy pigs sweets just like the ones you get in teeny tiny bags in M&S for hardly any cost - you'll have to buy some of those for sure :D and there is a clog shop with an enourmous clog outside that you can climb inside of to have your picture taken  and there is a C&A store - we had to go in just to say can you remember we used to have one of these :)

Hils thanks for asking about my back. Yesterday wasn't too bad. I didn't go anywhere or do anything but I suvived the whole day until bedtime without any pills but it was obviously a very stupid thing today becase today is a bad day. Mam has berated me for being stupid as only mothers can ;) and leaping out of bed to answer the door to the postman this morning really didn't help either - but at least it was a parcel for me :)

GeordieGirl
16-04-2008, 03:16 PM
We went on a canal cruise too which was lovely - loads of photo ops - and more peaceful than the bust streets, we enjoyed that the most :)

DawnS
16-04-2008, 03:24 PM
WHat you will do for a parcel eh Andrea, hope you get sorted out soon must be miserable being in pain constantly.

My mum is not very well has severe arthritis, she is so bad gets injections in her stomach twice a week. I don't like to ask her to babysit for such a long time but she has agreed. My teens will be staying here, but going to grannies for meals, Scott will be 18 next month anyway. Just hope no parties when we are away. First time away ourselves in 19 years.

My goodness do they actually sell hash plants at the flower markets.
I will be scared to eat a chocolate brownie there, in case I turn out like Lynette from Desperate Housewifes.(if you seen the last episode)
Don't fancy the Anne Franks house, think it will be canal boat round the city, diamond factory, keukenhof & tulip fields. There is a few organised tours may decide to go on them.
A nosey at the red light district can't go there without a wee look.

Hils
16-04-2008, 04:04 PM
 at going the red light district Dawn! We didn't include that on our itinerary.....!
Sorry your back's so bad today Andi :( Were the contents of the parcel worth it?!
BTW, got a new printer this week - an Epson Photo R285. Seems pretty good, and it will take the cheap inks from the site you told me about Andi. I'm now trying to decide if I should stick with the more expensive inks tho, on the basis that they are Claria ones that give prints that last for 200 years. Hmmmm - longevity vs price..... not an easy decision!

GeordieGirl
16-04-2008, 05:05 PM
Little bro has one of those printers I think Hils, does it print direct to CDs? It's currently sitting in the loft, he wanted to connect it to my big computer but I'm quite happy with my printer adn because the ink is so cheap (about 80p) for a colour cartridge I tend to buy in bulk and still and 15 coloured and 10 black sitting in my ink drawer:lol:

I'm at the doctors in the morning, think I'm going to try new pain medication as recommended by the consultant at the hospital, and my sick note has run out.

Tulip fields sound lovely Dawn xx

Hils
16-04-2008, 09:06 PM
Yes it will print direct to CDs, tho I can't see me using it for that. Your printer seems to do a great job for very little - can't see any reason why you'd want to change it :)
Good luck at the docs tomorrow. xx

I've been busy uploading photos to photobox - got an email to say my 318 credits with them run out next week! So I thought I'd better use them up pdq! I'm just over halfway there at the mo, so plenty more to do tonight
Meanwhile, I'm at work. What's everyone else up to today? :)

Hello, I'm here :)

Been to the doctors and got a prescription for new drugs. They're also used for epilepsy so I'm gonna have to be careful when driving, in fact I don't think I'll be driving my car at all. Also got a sick note for another 8 weeks :( and she had no idea how long I would be waiting for my appointment at the next hospital.

And to top it all off my printer just died - do you think it heard me yesterday telling Hils that there was another printer sitting in the loft? I'm waiting for my Mam to come in from work as she knows a lot more about computers than me and Dad. Oh dear, good news in that my new cardtrends mag just arrived so I will console myself with that :D

Hils

Awwww, sending you some big hugs Andi - sounds like you need them. Another 8 weeks off and no idea when your next appointment will be just stinks :(
And a big oh no to your trusty printer dying too :( And I was soooo careful yesterday not to make a reference to it giving up the ghost cos I didn't want to jinx it!
Hope you enjoy your Card Trends mag :)

Oh Andi, what a rotten time of it you are having ... big hugs.

I ordered my ink from a online company, just hope they are OK! Their deal was very good, got four sets of ink for just over the cost of one from a bricks and mortar shop.

That first link, Andi, didn't do my kind of ink, here's hoping the one I found by google is A-ok!

I'm counting points with weight watchers Dawn. Last time I dieted for real I did their no count diet where you can eat as much as you like of the foods on their list but no processed food, bread, etc. But because Sally and Chris are doing it too they can't not eat bread and if it's in the house I'll have to eat it so we're counting points.

I have Photo shop Elements 6 Dawn and it's fairly easy to use.

Hils
18-04-2008, 07:12 PM
I'm following my own diet! 1 Weetabix for breakfast, two Ryvita with a small amount of topping for lunch, and a normal dinner (but not too much of it). And I'm allowing myself just one treat a day. My problem is I snack on biscuits, cakes and choc far too much, so everytime I feel like doing that I chew gum instead :)
Obviously 1994 was a good year for babies Dawn! Like Andi, I use PSElements - it's pretty easy to use and does more or less everything I want it to :) You can get OEM versions of it very cheap from eBay too... mine was £25 :)

Going out to try out my new greenshouse, bought tomatoes plants & some seeds. Bearded iris bulbs,Rudbeckia & irises, need to plant the summer bulbs again.
Ewan is coming out to help he has his own wee watering can.
Have already started off pea pods. It has been so cold here everything is later due to the snow.

Andi If I remember rightly it was 90p a metre. Do you want me to get yourself some ? Dawn do you want some too ?
It is often hit & miss if it is in or whether it has marks on it... I just cit those parts out :o

90p!!!! I bought some in John Lewis they only had fuschia pink and it was £7 something a metre - I could only afford half a metre and have been very reluctant to use it.

If you would get me 5 or 6 metres next time you are in and if they do different pastely colours some of that too and I shall send you pennies xxx

I think I might come and live in Grimsby, you get such nice crafty stuff.

Ooh yes please I will send you the money, any colours you can get.
Much appreciated. Thank you.

Yes got some more seeds sown Cosmos they are really pretty considering they are 2.99 per plant at the garden centre.
When you can get a pack of 65 seeds for £1 something.
Then I was weeding :(, getting up at 6.30am tomorrow to finish off the weeding.

Hi girls,

Dawn, what time did your DS get home? Hope you weren't too late. Did you spend your voucher.

Lovely day today so I want to get out into the garden later. We have just been issued with a 'gree bin' from the council so at least we can get rid of clippings etc.

Have a good day.

We have a green bin too Annie, it's great because it means you don't have to fill your car with garden stuff and spiders to take it to the tip. I've always refused to take gardening stuff to the tip because I know that if a spider climbed out into my car whilst I was driving I would cause an accident.

Dawn I was shopping there yesterday too, got some MM embellishments and a load of mini alphabet stickers also by MM.

It was 2am I texted him then he said to collect him.
He was chatting away about his night till 3.30am, at a few pubs & a nightclub for the first time, he will be 18 on June 3rd.
I wasn't up at 6.30am weeding no no.

Not spent my voucher have my cart filled with CI narratives papers & embellishments.

Proud mammy moment. Donald carried the queen's colours at a centenary parade today. There were kids from all over our region, probably a few hunded in total, and one from each troop carried the flags ... it was lovely to see so many kids involved in the youth movement.

Hello :)
Have been away - up to Stoke for a night and day to fetch dd from the dpil (dear parents in law!) and have dinner with them, etc. Had a nice time, and Will enjoyed his birthday. Am now feeling reeeeaaaaalllllly tired and have stomach ache - I'm hoping it;s just coincidence and not the first signs of the bug that my kids have had  Fingers crossed!
LOL at Weigh****chers - see I've had to do it too!!!:lol::lol: They are obviously well known for selling scrapping products and hence being in competition with our sponsors...
Dawn, you had a very late night. Will you carry on fetching him home once he's turned 18? You've been busy in the garden too by the sounds of it. You clearly do far more housework than me - our home is fine, but it's definitely got a lived in look rather than a neat and well-looked-after one
Annie, you don't look - or sound - twice Andi's age. I'd have put you in your 50s from your avatar photo :) (Am I your new best friend now?!) Congrats on your new lappy. If you can get dh to put in an internet extension cable you can do what I do (and I think Andi too) and go online from your bed :D
Jane, you make me laugh - you is funny :) Hope your week is fun busy and not dull busy, esp the trip to London :)
Lovely photos Mitchy - you must be a very proud mum indeed. Remind me again how old Donald is? I think he's a similar age to Will, isn't he?
Hi Maureen, glad the sun is shining and you're having a good time :)
Hope everyone else is OK :)

Morning :)
Am feeling virtuous today cos by 9.30 I'd done the kitchen, two lots of laundry and the ironing :) I'm hoping my printed pix will arrive today, so I'm keeping the afternoon free so I can page plan with them :D Well, that's the plan anyway....
Hope you manange to catch up on your sleep Dawn. You're obviously a good mum - not sure I'll be the same when its my turn, I like my sleep too much!
I hear there's been some controversy on the ganza forum re make n takes  Still, better now than at the event I guess :)
What's everyone up to today? :)

Kids are back at school today too, hurrah! They have been getting too lazy as it is.

Hi girls,

Hello my bestest friend Hils  You made my day!!!

Mitchy, we took Nathan to the St George's day parade in Bournemouth and what a great day. As you say, it was so nice to see all the different troops taking part. It was a lovely sunny day too.

Then, late afternoon we had the most enormous thunderstorm, lightning and all!!! We were without internet for all the evening. Yes, I have used my new lappy in bed!! How decadent is that :)

Hi to Maureen, hope you're having a great time.

I am planning to have yet another tidy up in my craft room later, everytime I do scrapping up there I make such a mess

Fancy being without the internet all evening - however did you cope?! Yes, being in bed with the lappy is definitely decadent!
Mitchy, try not to work too hard  I guess with so much going on at least you don't need to worry about having enough news to fill the pages! :)
My postie has been. I now have the new CK and SS mags, and 318 photos! I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed by them - there are six folders full of them! Better get scrapping I suppose!

That should keep you busy for a while Hils :)

It's a slippery slop you're on now Annie, you'll climb into bed at 11 o'clock like me last night and turn your computer off at 2 o'clock

Show us what you do with all that stash then Hils.

Andrea, you must be knackered in the morning ... I am bad enough listening to the radio at night, I shouldn't switch it on, cos my midn just stays awake listening to it :D
