Hello girls. Love the title of this months thread
I've voted Gemma. I loved your photo of your SU pens.
I've managed to survive this morning - electronic design engineers and April Fools Day aren't a great mix --- especially when you're the only female in a department of them  LOL
I spent last night remaking a birthday card for parents to give to my nephew. The one I'd made was a bit grown up for a 12 year old so I'm going to change that one for eldest nephew who is 19 at the end of this month
I'll be driving to our meet up. Plenty of room in the car for anyone who wants to risk getting lost with me  I have got Sat Nav but that always seems to take me off road   I should be free anytime in July :)

I forgot about April Fool day ! Forgot to change my calendars too.
Thats good you can recycle your card Clare :D
Well the weather turned cold and grey so didn't go for a walk. Watched the film Volver, interesting.

Have fun at ikea Moira. Am looking forward to the one being built next year in Southampton.
Well i must be mad - (don't say a word...) but we renewed our season tickets yesterday.
Not adjusted to new times yet - we both still woke up hour late - so mad rush to get ready. Need to set all the alarm clocks we can find tonight.

Good morning everyone.
Clare, I'm facing what you did last month :( Stuffed a Mars bar to make me feel better, then I felt bad for eating it. Cuddled up with a water bottle last night which felt better. Why do we have to go through it? Its not fair at all.
Hope my Cleo Crafts kit comes today, Max got hers yesterday and considering I'm only 10miles away I want mine now. Or I'll stamp my feet.
Its the stampers 10 tonight, I know Jackie hasnt been well so I wont stay long tonight (not that I feel like it anyway).
Then Sunday its the Scrapping Angels crop. So lots to look forward to.
Moira, I'm excited for you going to Ikea, I've never been, not even sure where my closest is. I love the bookcases they sell that fit 12x12, very clever.
How is everyone else?

[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]]]]]]] Gemma - hope things ease up soon.
We are going to Edinburgh Ikea which is our closest - about 2 1/2 hours , then 5 hours shopping and 2 1/2 hours home :D At least I can sleep on the bus !
I might do some scrapping today - I've got a pic of my nephew I've been wanting to do.
Have a good day everyone :)

Lots of (((((hugs))))) Gemma. It's horrible isn't it :( I always eat loads and then just feel guilty. Hope you feel a bit better later hun so that you can enjoy your evening.
I've just started subbing to the Scrapagogo card kit and got my 1st one yesterday. It looks quite good. Now the challenge is to actually use it :D
Another night of sitting in front of the telly for me last night. Feeling shattered this week - work has been stressful and I'm sure I still haven't adjusted to losing an hours sleep on Saturday
I really must get some crafting done tonight. I've got loads of cards to make and I came up with an idea for a scrap page when I was driving into work this morning. Really felt like turning round and driving home
Hope everyone has a good day :)

I've just voted too and Gemma, guess who's in the lead??? (Might make up a bit for the yukky tummy ache ((((hugs))))
I feel like turning around and coming home most days :lol: Keep asking my boss to introduce duvet days but she's very good at ignoring me :P:lol: Scrapagogo kits look amazing. I bought one from the Marketplace last year and loved it. Have fun creating with it.
I  Ikea Moira, we have one about 30 miles away and have spent many a happy afternoon looking at all the displays and buying far too much! The meatballs in the cafe are rather nice as well (and very reasonable)

Hey there everyone.
Thanks for the votes :) they really cheer me up seeing the support.

Should be back in time for Desperate Housewives.

Morning all,
Had a lovely evening, ordered some papers, some thread and a set of watercolour crayons (neutrals this time) am borrowing Jackie's little sewing machine to try the Elsie Flannigan challenge out with, should be fun, so I'm popping up there this morning with the girls :)
The bloody hamster was out at 11:30pm, havent told Amy yet. The tube wasnt together properly and I could hear her, I went in and she was ontop of Amy's drwaers and then fell off :o So I picked her up off the floor, I think she is ok, I hope she isnt hurt. I'll check again in a bit but she was well enough to climb back up her tubes so I think shes ok. Such drama.
So I hope that my kit comes today and with the sewing machine some type of wonder is created

Morning girls
Struggled into work this morning. Got stuck in front of the telly watching QVC - they've got the Quickutz Silhouette as the TSV and although I've already got one:wub:, I was hoping to pick up some tips
Hope Amy's hamster is okay Gemma. Sounds like you had a fun evening. Hope you're feeling better today (((hugs)))
I'm going over to my sisters this evening as it's nephews birthday - he's now 12 going on 22 :D Going to take my new camera to see if I can get some good piccies. I'll be getting a little lie in tomorrow morning as I'm staying over at parents tonight.
What's everyone else up to???
Nic-B
03-04-2008, 09:39 AM
Snap Clare (although I haven't got the silhouette I wanted to see the kit after it) so I feel rather sleepy at the mo. Silhouette did look very clever.
Hope your little escape artiste has recovered Gemma. I think animals are worse than children sometimes with their antics - mr kits certainly is, he got stuck up a tree a couple of weeks ago just as I was leaving for work, took me ages to get him back down:rolleyes:.
Have fun with the sewing machine, looking forward to seeing what you create.
Right best get on with getting to work - yuk:(.

morning all (just barely)
Gemma - I had a hamster years ago that would regularly escape ! He started out as Boris and we renamed him Houdini - He was pure white but one of his escapades took him to close to the pilot light of our boiler and he got a singe mark down his back ! He'd sometimes disappear for days then show up - one time he was just gone though . I'm sure Flower will be fine after her fall.
Clare - bet you can't wait to start using your new camera :)
Nic - I am assuming mr kits is the cat and not an adventurous neighbour
Beautiful day here - we did Tesco this morning and going to the beach this afternoon for a long walk with Kai.
Cheers me up when the weather is nice :)

Got my Cleo Crafts kit today, there is a picture on my blog. Also arrived today are some bits for my cuttlebug, gutted though as some of it was out of stock (not fair when I did BIN on ebay for it) so I await some more now.
Off to the cafe to meet Max soon (well half one)
Hope everyone is having a good day, wonder how our holiday gals are?

Well I've got brave and have had confirmation today that I will be having my own craft stall at a local village fete in June *shakes nervously*. Better get my designing skates on, going to be making and selling homemade cards, bookmarks, gift bags etc .
I get sent lots of funny email's at work along with all the boring 'work' stuff and I had one in my inbox today which was all about 'why we love children' with lots of examples of the things children innocently say. Thought I would share this one for a chuckle.
'It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the
Children's' sermon. All the children were invited to come forward. One
little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat
Down, the minister leaned over and said, 'That is a very pretty dress.
Is it your Easter Dress?' The little girl replied, directly into the
minister's clip-on Microphone, 'Yes, and my Mum says it's a bitch to
iron.'

Hi girls. Sorry not been around much; strained a muscle in my abs after doing pilates last week so feeling bit sorry for myself. Loads better today, had great day at work - pile of stuff to do but managed to clear it all - feel like i have settled in now.
When i was in france we went to chruch and during a quiet moment my two year old neice began to sing 'we will rock you' with hand clapping. It was some funny you couldn't tell her to be quiet.

Mirnada, take care, I fancy doing pilates, is it any good?
Gemma, I love Yoga but my local class was cancelled.
Managed no revision yesterday, just shopping, house work and dance classes, hoping for a better result today!!
Have a good one everyone, weather looks like it will be better!

Morning girls
Ooooh there are some sore heads and glum faces in work this morning. Poor old Arsenal fans  I am being good and not winding them up too much ;) My nephew (Liverpool fan) phoned me at 10.30 last night and he sounded a bit worse for wear LOL
Did this weeks challenge last night. Will upload it at lunchtime :)
Ouch Miranda, that sounds painful hun. I've always fancied having a go at pilates as well. LOL at your niece. You can't help but laugh at little kids when they do things like that
Nic, that's a funny one
Hope everyone has a good day :D

Morning all, spend 30 minutes queing at the PO for a book of stamps! £4.32 for 12 1st class. Oh well I will use them up.
I've done Winsor pilates from the videos (yes video, not dvd) and really liked it, should do it some more actually. So I hope that you are ok Miranda.
Housework is about all I'm up to today until I go out tonight for a bit of scrapping :)
Have a good day ya'll.

Nic - i could well have been bit by the Ikea bug - maybe it's lucky it's so far away ( they do deliver though, right ? :) ) DH still on the job hunt. They have just now got his jobseekers allowance sorted out ! We nearly drowned in the paperwork. He's supposed to have an interview next Wednesday but they are having trouble finding an interpreter for him *sigh* so that may have to be postponed.
Becs - hope you manage to get some revision in today :)
Gemma - Yoga sounds fun, if I was closer I would have loved to babysit for your gorgeous girls.
Clare - was thinking about you last night - DH was watching the game :)
Miranda - ouchie !! *gentle hugs for you*
Nic - thats funny ! Also reminded me of something I hadn't thought about for a while. Apparently when I was 4 and in church with my mum, when everyone started singing a hymn I joined in - loudly - singing, I SEE THE MOON AND THE MOON SEES ME ! I like your nieces version Miranda
Nic - thats great that you will have your own craft stall - should be a lot of fun, and i'm sure your lovely work will sell.
Today is our first day of the new lipreading term. I'm fairly organised and looking forward to seeing my class again :)
Want to have a good at this weeks challenge, but it will have to wait till Friday probably.
Have a good day everyone :)

Gemma ~ I'd forgotten that the price of stamps were going up. Wish their service would improve

Supposed to be going car hunting with my nephew tonight  Don't think he's forgiven me yet for not being able to go to his footie on Sunday - well they could win the league and get a trophy but ---- Ally Pally comes first  Going to give my new camera to my dad to get some good scrapping photos. My friend goes regularly to Aqua Fit (aqua aerobics) she really likes it as she has really bad hip joints. The class is fun and because you are underwater you dont feel so self conscience. I dont like water enough to go.
Clare you should enter the photo comp, this month its fashion, so I have no chance!

Accidents at work have to be reported, so don't worry max.
Pilates is great fun; relaxing in part but also hard work on the abs as they should be held in whilst doing each exercise. Some of the exercises look very simple - eg. just raisng one leg whilst lying on the floor - but you need to hold tummy in so you stay in alignment. I would recommend trying a class to you all. I also love aquerobics - although it can get very splashy.
Another great day at work - home to play and perhaps start the ironing whilst DH is shopping with MIL.

well im still unhappy its the health and saftey officer who is comming in tomorrow.. so someone must have reported it to them. i feel like a criminal because im having to make sure all "my" training is up to date and not the person who stacked the freezer and what makes it a bit better for me is that that was my 1st day back after 3 weeks holiday so it couldnt have been me :( i will keep you all informed tomorrow afternoon when i get home

Max - try not to worry too much - the other girls are right, in that it has to be reported. And you wouldn't want it happening to anyone else. I'm sure they are not seeing you as a criminal at all [[[[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]
Gemma - I agree that the photobox service is fantastic - I've used them 5 times now and always received my pics the next day :)
Becs - glad you enjoyed aqua fit - my sister used to do that and loved it. There is a waiting list to get into classes at our local pool.
Miranda - hmmm . sure that ironing can't wait ?
The job Centre is really dragging their feet in setting up an interpreter for DH's interview, we are going to go down there first thing in the morning - just makes me so angry, and the woman is not returning my emails.

Morning everyone.
Hope everything goes ok for you Max at work today and for you Moira sorting em out at the job centre.
I went to a retirement do for someone at work yesterday, we went to this fantastic resturant in Chester, never been anywhere like it before, it had this huge glass wall, divided into different levels and jutted out over the river dee, the view was amazing as was the food and guess what? I forgot to take my camera doh!
Hope work has improved slightly as the week has gone on Clare, not long to go til the weekend now tho, are you excited yet? What have you got on your wish list?
Hope your muscles are fighting fit again now Miranda.
Has anyone bought any kits for the cyber crop? I've ordered the red one from Mod scraps, came yesterday and it is lovely. Can't wait to see what we are going to be doing with it.

I'm not very excited about this weekend ;) Fingers crossed the weather stays dry for the footie on Saturday and then it's Ally Pally on Sunday. I've only got a couple of things on my list - new water brush and some papers for my sister's scrapbook. Bet I buy a bit more than that though
Maxine ~ hope it went okay today. It's not your fault hun that some muppet stacked stuff on top of the freezer (((hugs)))
Nic ~ I haven't got any of the cybercrop kits yet. Was going to see if I had any money left from AP :D I've still got the Banana Frog kit from the last CC in the box
Gemma ~ your photos are brilliant hun and I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it :) I don't think I've got the confidence with my camera yet to enter the photo comp.
Moira ~ Good luck at the job centre. You'd think they'd be doing all they could to help not hinder
Miranda ~ they're talking about starting pilates classes here in the gym at work so I might give it a go. I'd better practice holding in me tummy

We were at the job centre at 9.15am to try to sort this out - guess what? - the woman who does this isn't there today !! However, another person will try to get in touch with her and have her email me today - we'll see. Miranda ~ my cousin, who's a Saints fan, came to the Spurs match and we had a good chat about how close it was down the bottom of your league. Could be a real nail biting finish :(
Moira, I've got Gardenbella, Daintybella, Cakeabella and Prezzibella. I blame my addiction on Gemma :D
Will catch up properly when I get home tomorrow night - if I can keep my eyes open

You will be busy cramming stash into your basket by now Clare - have lots of fun and looking forward to hearing all about it.
((((Hugs)))) to Max, can sympathise, I'm not snotty (yet!) but think got a cold on the way as have really sore throat and my ears are all blocked and popping again.
Had a lovely meal last night, food delish but then they made a right mess of the bill tho and overcharged on several things :(
Enjoy Nottingham Miranda, whereabouts are you staying there? Hope DH's team won!

hello all
You lovely ladies are wonderful - thank you for the bella offers
Gemma - I think yours would be most appropriate, I will pm you :)
Maxine - That happens a lot when a Tesco comes to town, other businesses really suffer. We have a Somerfield and a Tesco and i only tend to go to Somerfield if i just want a few items. You'd be in a good position to get a job with them though :)
Nic - That was a rotten end to your evening. It really pays to keep an eye on the bill.
Watching the marathon and thinking about Clare being in the vicinity and possibly with another marathon on her mind  look forward to seeing your purchases.

No great plans today, school run, housework, clean my car (if the weather is ok) and thats about it. If DH gets home early enough I'm going to yoga this evening but it starts at 6:40pm so I doubt he'll be home.

Had a lovely weekend; although DH''s bowls team lost - they were never quite in the match. The county paid for a lovely hotel - it is a conference venue with swimming pool. There was one problem - the bed was a tiny double if that, so i was balancing on the edge.

Bed hog...I have a 6yo like that, if she wakes up to go to the bathroom in the night she sneeks in next to me so I end up being squished in the middle. Usually with a leg or an arm over me. I've got out of bed a few times and got into hers, only its a 3/4 junior, which is weird.
Moira, watch out for the post-person :) I posted the stamp to you this morning.
Miranda, Is bowls played in seasons? Or is it continuous?
My Nan is going Tai Chi tomorrow and wants me to go along, I have declined this request as I just cant see it being for me, I could be proved wrong though. I hope she enjoys it, it looks like Grandad will now be dragged along.

The other 4 are make-n-takes and rather simple but didn't get to those either. I'm guessing all 4 will only take me about 2 hours....we'll see. hi Girlies!
LOL at Gemmas pink marigolds!
Clare and Nic, how fab would it be if you two could meet up and go stash shopping!
Feeling a bit rushed today, treated myself to a bit of retail therapy but only bought things for the kids. I tried a lovely dress on for a wedding we are going to in summer but it was strapless and I didnt have enough boobies to hold it up.........(dont laugh!)
then the avon delivery man came just as I got home, so sorted that lot out. Now I have finally sat down for revision and only have about an hour and a half before I need to go and get Faith. Feel like I should be doing more.
Does anyone have a spare few hours I can borrow it add to my day?????
Might go and put the kettle on.....Earl Grey anyone?????

Earl Grey, very posh :) *hands Becs a Tesco fruit tea and hopes Moira is sharing the cake*
Its dreadful how the time is just sucked away. In an hour I'm off to the school too. Just in time to meet the rain cloud.
I hate picking dresses, I'm a different size on the top to the bottom, the only way I can get away with it are those funky 50's Rockabilly dresses. Though I'm a black trouser, fancy top girl.

Then yesterday afternoon there was a letter inviting him to an interview for another job TODAY ! Nothing like short notice. Anyway, amazingly an interpreter was arrange toute suite (sp?) so he is off to that this morning at 11am.
Enjoy your visit this morning Gemma - hmmm... what makes her water so special ?

The photo thing is because there will be 5 other schools there, its all child protection. I'll still squeeze some in of the girls of the parents I know, I'm sure they'll want photos too. I waved Amy off (me and one other mum, the rest didnt want to wait all of 20 minutes) then went for a walk but got caught by Nan so I had to text Jackie to let her knw I couldnt make it, I didnt want to turn up late as I knew she had company coming, so I shall go and see her tomorrow morning :)
Becs, hows the revision?

We've been strangly quiet today.
DH's interview went ok, but the job is only for one month ! Didn't know that ahead of time. At the moment we are thinking its not worth it, but we're taking until tomorrow to make a decision. It also involves a lot of heavy lifting, 25kg barrel type things, which isn't great either.
Thinking about Amy tonight :) Hope she does well
Becs is quiet, so hopefully the revision is going well
No word from Clare today - that's unusual, hope she's ok.

Hope Amy has got on really well today. I kind of understand about the piccies but it really feels like they're taking it too far these days

It was an awesome night last night. Didnt get many pictures but the parents are going to send which ones we did get to each other so hopefully we can get a few good ones (all depends if your child is in their photos) The school had the biggest cheer of the evening. It was just such a long evening for them all. So I might finally get some scrapping done with thse photos :)
Supposed to be going to Crowland with my grandparents today to take some photos and see my great grandparents but I woke up to Grace being covered in sick so I dont think I can take her out if she isnt very well.

hi Moira, Crowland is a place in Lincolshire its a really old town and has some fantastic architecture (sp) there is a small bridge in the middle of town that 3 rivers met and went under which makes it special ( the rivers were doverted years ago) so now the bridge is just a monument.. oh and there just happens to be a craft shop in a garden center..

Max I like how you think. Sorry to hear about the sickos - hope you all feel better soon and get plenty of rest.
It's gorgeous here today - it will be in the 80's and sunny so I think I'll work in my flower gardens after lunch (I have a lunch date with one of my friends). It's too nice to stay inside and my bulbs are finally blooming after the record breaking snow this season has finally melted.
Later I'll be doing some much dreaded housework (love to put that off as long as possible) but I'm having a few friends over to scrap tomorrow and don't want the house looking too shabby.
Oh and DH was draining the pool cover last night so that we can work on getting it filled and treated so that it will be open in a few weeks and he apparently decided to drain it directly into our basement. I'm leaving that mess for him to clean up this weekend....YUCK!

Kimmie, hope your basement is ok, do you keep anything valuable or important down there?
Grace spent most of yesterday being sick but once she started drinking the re-hydration drinks she perked up and went to bed with no problems and had a great nights sleep (thankfully!) I wish I knew what it was although a mum up school said her youngest had been sick during the week so it could be a combination of travelling and a bug.
Becs, did you get anything from Woolies?
Moira, hope you are having a lovely break.
Nic, look after yourself and I hope you get a rest some time this weekend.

I've just sent my mum, dad and nephew off home. We went shopping and then came back here so Sam (and grandad) could do his homework  It's now very quiet in my house - Sam was full of chatter and mischief :D
It's the first time he's been round for a while and spotted my new craft room chair as soon as he went to the loo - he thinks it's fab LOL
Umm the card isn't going very well at the mo - okay I admit, I haven't started it yet  That's top of todays To Do list.
Becs, they sound like fab bargains. I'm going to do a bit of studying tomorrow morning but I don't think I've got any chance of passing the exam. My boss has told me not to worry as he realises that I haven't been given any time at work to study - which I was supposed to  My dad has worked out my route up to Stone just in case the Sat Nav goes wrong. He reckons that I could squeeze a quick trip into Stamp Addicts on the way back if we finish early  Apparently, it's on my way home ;)

Busy day at work for me today as everyone realises that I'm not going to be in most of the week  I gave up on the studying as it just wasn't going in :D
Our facilities department have come up with a stupid idea to take everyone's bins away. Instead we've been given 2 cardboard magazine holders - one for white paper and the other for general waste like food wrappers. We're then supposed to empty them at the end of every day into a bigger bin. At the mo, the worst thing is that I keep forgetting that I haven't got a bin under my desk anymore

Clare - When you feel the rubbish around your ankles you will remember that the bin has gone !! That does sound like a very odd thing to do though, it's not as if you won't be making the same amount of rubbish
This week is a bit hectic. DH's sister, who is deaf / blind and learning disabled is supposed to go for dental surgery on Friday. She's now refusing to go !! So we have 4 days to try to persuade her this is the best thing, as obviously we can't force her to go.

That must have been such a stressful experience. Like Maxine said, I hope this brings closure for your family.
My 25 minute train journey to my lipreading class today took 1.5 hours !! I only go one stop but we stopped in the middle of nowhere because something had rammed into a bridge ahead of us. I am assuming a vehicle but nobody was telling! I managed to text one of my students so they knew I would be late, unfortunately I have the only key and I couldn't say how long I would be. Fortunately one of them was there to pick me up at the station when we finally got there, as I have a 10 minute walk to class. Oh Gemma and Max I'm glad things went well today I've been thinking about you all day!
I wasn't sure if any of you had used those adhesives but I thought I'd give it a shot. I've seen mixed reviews on the Glue Glider and only positive for the ATG so I think I'm going to go with that one. (I've asked a bunch of people and checked on line and read reviews etc.) I'll let you know if I like it - they are both so big but I'm tired of running out of adhesive on projects and I want something that will be VERY sticky.
I've used them all (and that is NOT an exaggeration) and my favorite "small" applicator by far is the Kokuyo Dot 'n' roller. It just doesn't last as long and I can go through one refill doing one mini album. Also if you hang things vertically for long periods of time the adhesive can loosen although not as much as with the Tombo Mono adhesive.
Okay now what about paper trimmers - what do you guys use now? I haven't found one I'm crazy about yet! Just wondering what you are using and why you like it?
Hmmmmm maybe that should have been my CJ topic :) HEHE!
