:D Yes, I was planning to go on my own but will be going with a friend now and we have booked onto the Blonde Moments Workshop for the Saturday.

It will a 1st for both of us and we are really looking forward to it.

Seen other thread that says we will not do it all in a day, but we are mainly concentrating on Scrapbooking and then might look at the other stalls. but we will give it our best shot :lol:

Scrap Revolution will be their and we will be paying them a visit, seems like they will have a load of goodiesto tempt us :nono:

Out tickets came at the week-end so we are all set.

I'm going to this on the Sunday, I've booked 3 workshops.
Do I need to take anything? (apart from photos!) glue? scissors etc? I've been to crops and retreats before, where obviously I dragged along loads of stuff, but I want to leave room for purchases, not take a load of stuff with me.
Any help would be much appreciated

Well Germgirl, didn't think about taking photos etc, has the workshop is only 1 hour I assumed that basic ideas/techniques would be given and I'd be adding photos later.

Can anyone clarify please, then I can go prepared.

I got this off another thread regarding Ally Pally - hope it works.

http://www.expressrubberstamps.co.uk/thebigstampshow/hall.php?show=13

It the floor plan and stall names of the people going.

It looks like all the Scrapbooking stall are in the middle of the hall and next to each other so not far to walk to each one - LOL.

Capture the Magic have put on thread that if you order things from them before 9th April you can pick up at the show to save on P&P, but you better double check with them.

Hope this helps.

We went to the show today and we were not impressed with the layout. All the stands were crammed together which meant that the shoppers were as well. I found it very hard to see what was on the stands and therefore did not find everything I wanted and did not spend very much money (which could be seen as a good thing I suppose)

I think the organisers should have hired the bigger hall and allowed each stand more room. The way it was did not benefit either the stall holders or the shoppers. A lot of handicapped people craft and anyone in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter stood no chance of getting anywhere near the stands.

My DH came with me and he thought this was the worst organised crafting show we had ever been too.

Thanks for that information. I would need a scooter if I went as I can't walk very well and standing is too painful. Although I have never been to a full craft show because of the spaces between the stalls. If you have been to other shows and had plenty of space please let me know.
So sorry you didn't spend much......

I use a walker so know how awkward it can be but I had no problem at the Excell or the NEC shows.

The NEC is far worse than Ally Pally for cramped space, I hated it when I went in November....I must say that if the back of the hall had been laid out properly(we went yesterday)ie Cardcraft Plus and Creative Expressions taking up far more room than they needed and the stands from the front to the middle being crammed up, who could've had more room if these back two had ben better placed.......if you see what I mean!!! I went to the show and did find that the stands were cramped together, but talking to stall holders if they had more space, they would have to pay more money for the floor space. I believe that the stand at the back Creative Expressions was the company who organised the show.
I still enjoy this show, I think it is one of the better ones of the year.

Hey Hot Potato, it was nice to see you on Saturday. I think the show was not as crowed as it has been in the past, but if there was more space, it would just get filled by more people. I think it's just the nature of these type of events. Still have fun though. I've put the stash I bought up on my blog (http://tiggyhedge.blogspot.com/2008/04/big-stamp-and-scrapbooking-show.html)

Hi, didn't go this year but did attend last.

It had a LOT of very good stalls, but was incredibly crowded and hot. Couldn't get a decaf coffee anywhere (my friend's allergic to caffeine), and the parking was a bit of a walk from the entrance unless they've changed things round.

Definately worth it for the retail therapy though..... Might hit it next year I'll just have to gird my loins and see it a bit like a battle!

Hi there Mrs Tiggy, it was great to speak to you (and your DH) and Petra, it's nice to meet other UKS...put faces to names. I didn't think it was as crowded as I have seen it in previous years, tho still plenty of people about. Had a great day didn't over spend either and bought some lovely bits, can't wait for the Sept one now. Janina

One of my customer went to AP and was sure that Sugar Nellie stamps were on sale. Did anyone see them? who had them or was it just a similar line?
thanks if you can help, I have looked at all the stall holders and am still none the wiser.
