Just returned from seeing Chrissie. :D Collected "I wish I'd know then...." CJ.

I was having a think about my entry, whilst driving home. I've got an idea of what to do now. Don't think this will be an easy one to put on paper. :(

Francis I got two cj's from you on Friday, not sure which is first but i'll try to get them done over the weekend

It doesn't help when I'm sending two different cj groups to you. I'm assuming one is Autumn harvest & one 40s.

Hi Lou
Not sure which was first but i'v just posted Happy Days to you, just because it was the one i'd already got ideas for so i'v done it first to be able to get one in the post..
I'll get the other one finished this week and ready for posting on monday, but got to think about this one :)

No, on Friday I got 2 cj's from this (40's) group, Happy Days and Lifes Ambitions at 40 :) so i'v just done the one I had ideas for first.
I got a cj from you the week before for Lindy's group, Autum Harvest which was family recipes :D

Hi Chrissie, I hope you are ok, the next posting date is Monday and I have nothing to pass on, is it worth adding an extra week in here as a few seem to be a wee bit behind schedule or are some of those ahead of schedule ?

How does everyone else feel about it?

nettyb

I'd be happy for an extra week to be added. Only half way through the CJ I have here - my fabulously creative idea seems to be taking a lot longer than anticipated!!!!!! - keep having to stop for paint and glue to dry!!!!

I enjoy hearing about how everyone's progressing with the CJs! I've just finished Number 1s and managed to avoid using any of the swear words which featured in my 40th birthday tune

Lou - no panic about sending to me in such a hurry - I'm sure we'll all be back on track really soon.

Good afternoon folks! I've just been reading the thread and catching up. Lou, I see you are awaiting the arrival of two CJ's. I have tried to ring Jane today but no luck so far, so I have PM'd Francis to send direct to you until we hear from Jane.

Jane hun, can you please let me know asap what is happening with the CJ's you have? I thought if Francis sends direct to Lou this time you might like to do your pages and send them onto Lou when you've completed/posted/tracked the CJ's you have. Am I right in thinking you have sent one and still have one?

Is everyone enjoying their entries? Lou, yours was great - very quick and simple to do!

We're not far off finishing now are we?

Susan66
12-04-2008, 11:39 AM
Netty - how about "Had I known then what I know now about scrapbooking, I would have taken far more photo's / taken note of the little things / saved more memorabilia etc." - That's how I feel when I see all the lovely LOs that people do of their children. There are so many "little" incidences that I wish I had captured.

- Just an idea. :)

Susan66
12-04-2008, 11:40 AM
Kath - Yes, that is a bit of a tricky one for you. The wish list sounds like a good plan. :)

Trubags
12-04-2008, 04:44 PM
Had I Known Then What I Know Now... I might not have chosen such a tricky CJ theme for everyone! Maybe it's just me who looks back on life and has so many lightbulb moments of glaring clarity like thinking that every decision I made when I was 16 was somehow carved in stone but I know now that there's nothing wrong with changing your mind every now and again, or that big girls like me will NOT be comfortable in dainty little shoes for long, or that really, really good chocolate is far more scrumptious than a hundred Mars Bars... I guess there's plenty I didn't know at the time!

Susan, you can relax, Happy Days finally arrived, Chrissie, I'll keep the order of cj's in tact and do this one asap and send first on to Trudi, as I know what I'm doing and hopefully, everyone in front will be able to catchup, so I now have 3 cj's, Jane will send me her pages for 1968, which is the last one I send on. Well, I've been working on Ambitions and having a little chuckle to myself, I have taken a slightly different angle to everyone elses, and bits of it read like a political party manifest - so I hereby apologise to the owner of this cj - thing is politics was never my thing, but who knows what the future holds?? :D

I am enjoying this cj and its many revelations its highlighting for me. Life truley does begin at 40, do you think its cos the kids are older and we can start all over again, while being just that little bit wiser?

Trudi, do you want me to hold off a few days before posting? Did Happy Days arrive today, I sent it first class?

Ah, the curse of the Scottish Public Holiday! That's how I ended up in Aberdeen when it was shut...

Happy Days posted to Veronica today.

I'm having a bit of a crisis of confidence regarding getting the entries done asap to keep on schedule. My OH was glancing through the latest CJ and made a nasty comment about MY entry without knowing it was mine! I was quite pleased with it, especially considering how quickly it came together, but it has made me panic about ruining someone's lovely CJ by creating something simple in order to avoid delays. I know he's clueless when it comes to anything visually creative and he really doesn't 'get' scrapping at all and I should just ignore what he said BUT it's made me doubt myself a bit. Bum. :(

Susan66
21-04-2008, 04:31 PM

Thought of 3 things for Lou's little book - just got to think of one more!!! - I feel inky fingers coming on again!!!

Well me personally I love anything Tim Holtz:wub: I've got all the Distress Ink pads and all the Alcohol Inks:wub: but I also have all the Cats Eyes both in Pigments and Chalks - I just love them. - but then I simply adore rubber stamping - it's one of my passions - i have hundreds and hundreds of stamps!!!!!

I would advise wearing those disposable gloves whilst using Alcohol Inks - cos they do stain quite badly and certainly don't come off with soap and water!!!! - I use a drop of surgical spirit or the blending solution to remove it sometimes. and actually I'd use them with the distress inks too sometimes because they don't tend to wash off with soap and water either especially when you've been colouring the tags with them!!!!!

there's something very satisfying about playing around with inks and colouring tags!!!!

Susan66
24-04-2008, 09:03 AM
Thanks for that. :) I have a small selection of chalk-eyes and other small ink pads. Just one distressing ink pad, that I've not really played with. And some watermark ink, for embossing. Oh, and some stayzon too.

I've got a number of stamps, but not a huge selection.

Chrissie - how about a lesson in using inks, next time at at your place.....? :D

Hi,

I've just had a long chat with Chrissie (aka Aristoscrap) on the phone. She's asked me to post this message, on her behalf.

Life has all become a bit hectic for Chrissie recently. Her daughter, Phoebe, has had a serious head injury and has been in hospital for several days. She is now home, but is not back to full health yet.

On a more practical note, Chrissie is also having problems with her internet.

She apologises to those of us in CJs that she is hosting. She realises that she is behind with them, but circumstances have taken over at this time.

Glad your CJ is back home safely.

I'm still waiting for the next CJ from Chrissie. I've tried to make contact with her several times and I've tried to arrange to see her. But I'm not getting very far.... :(

Trubags
07-06-2008, 10:11 AM
I think we should all post details of which CJs we have or are waiting for as it's all terrribly confusing!

I'll begin - I have no CJ and have passed 1940s home to Veronica.

It's such a shame that things have become so confused and delayed and communication has been poor for this, and other, CJs. I suspect a case of biting off more than you can chew might be the cause or perhaps I'm just a tad cynical.

nettyb
07-06-2008, 10:32 AM
I have no CJ either. The last one I had was "The Big 40" which I posted to Francis2002 around 20 May and I've not received anything since.

Susan66
07-06-2008, 10:49 AM
As I've already mentioned, I have no CJ and have not had one for a while. :(

I have spoken with Chrissie, just yesterday. She is very aware that she is behind. She's been under a lot of pressure from one of her other CJ groups, so has been working on their CJs first. She plans to do her entries in our CJs next (hopefully this coming week).

Things with Phoebe (her daughter) are a bit up-and-down, since she banged her head. Phoebe is obviously Chrissie's priority at this present time.

I'll keep the group updated about Chrissie, as best I can.
