Lovely cards Tilly. I've not used my pink petticoat for ages but your cards have put me in the mood for giving my CD's an airing. :) What printer do you use as I have trouble with my ink bleeding sometimes. Not tried with my prismas but used to get that with watercolours.

Lovely cards Tilly. I've not used my pink petticoat for ages but your cards have put me in the mood for giving my CD's an airing. :) What printer do you use as I have trouble with my ink bleeding sometimes. Not tried with my prismas but used to get that with watercolours.

I tried the inkjet fixer spray but it was hard to get it applied just right, either not enough and the ink still smudged, or too much and the water just ran off with the colour! A few weeks ago I got myself a cheap Epson printer from pcworld, it's an Epson Stylus D92 - it was £29.99. It's a bit noisy and not very fast, but it uses the new Durabright inks, which are waterproof. I've no idea what it's like for photo printing, but for the Pink Petticoat images I set it to use black ink only and get brilliant results every time. Even better, the replacement ink is only £6.99!
Hope that helps

how have you used the card to do an 8x8 card hun

You cut one sheet of A4 card to 8x8. The second sheet of A4 you cut to 8" along the long side.Using your scoreboard, score about 1inch in on the short end.
Fold in. Use DST on the short part of the fold and with it slightly folded, slide the other 8x8 in and stick down. You then trim away what's left of the long piece of card.

I have a card I made for my mum's birthday this weekend on my blog here (http://milliesparkles.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-mums-birthday-card.html). I tried to post a thumbnail in the thread here but it was taking forever to upload and I didn't have the patience.

Thanks for the nice remarks about the tape - it's from our equivalent to a poundshop here in DK - I normally use it for baby announcements and kiddies bdays but quite liked this idea.

Thank you thread bare. They seem very bare compared to some that iv'e seen. Maybe its down to personal taste, but whenever i try to do them a little busy, it just doesn't look right to me so i take stuff back off.

fa1ryw1ngs
17-04-2008, 11:13 AM
They look brilliant i love any sort of cards. But as a newbie card maker i know what you mean about adding and taking off. At the end of the day it's totally down to personal taste. I do both sorts now but at the beguinning i had no idea what do do with background paper. I think you have got the balance perfect on your cards sometimes less is more.

welshlorraine
17-04-2008, 03:37 PM
I haven't got as far as using pattern backing paper. I like to recycle old cards and try to come up with something new by cutting out what i can and re arranging them on another piece of card. Saves just throwing bought cards in the bin. Besides, people tend to save personalised ones. That way, they are good for the environment too.

Lovely cards ladies. :) I made a card for my aunt who's had to go into hospital unexpectedly. I've been having a nightmare trying to upload cards here for some reason. It just keeps saying 'uploading file' for ages and I don't have the patience to wait, so here's (http://milliesparkles.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-havent-posted-for-while-as-ive-not.html) a link to the card on my blog.

Lovely cards everyone. Here's one of mine using the CB embossing folders. I made a mistake with the swiss dots one and put it through upside down so I thought I'd make it look like I'd done it on purpose and put a little blob of stickles into the intents, took ages but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I'm loving those cards Light, especially the cute fairy ones.

Here is a card which I made for my DT duties.

Ooh Lighthousegirl, they're all gorgeous! Can I ask, is the fairy a stamp?

Anna that is such a fab card, I love how you've used the torn paper as the background :D

I've put another couple of ladies cards on my blog, hope you like them...
