View Full Version : ** March Card Challenge **

This month's challenge is called:
Spring is in the air!
And yep, you guessed it, the challenge is to create a card using Spring colours and/or Spring-themed embellishments if you have them.
Bunnies, chicks, Easter eggs... lots of pastel colours... and of course flowers!
If at the end of the month there have been 10 or more cards posted here in this thread, then one lucky person will be chosen as a 'winner' and will receive a little goodie through the post courtesy of Julie at Scrapbooking Castle (http://scrapbookingcastle.co.uk/store/).
Happy creating!

Here is a flowery one using Artilicious Filigree Fushion papers and a stamp by Rubbadubbado (art flowers). I embossed the papers and stamped image using Big Shot embossing plate. The stamped image is painted using imitation h2o's from the works. TFL

Awww Elaine how cute is that stamp
Here are a couple I've made today. They both are using Brenda Walton, K&O pps, the first is a Bella stamp,(borrowed from the lovely Joanne), and the second is a Pink Petticoat design. Both have been coloured using watercolour pencil and the edges inked with cats eye piink ink pad.

Gorgeous cards everyone :)
Sues, I love that design from Pink Petticoat! Did you have any problems with the watercolouring? My printer ink (HP) bleeds like mad so I'm a bit wary of using my watercolour pencils on home printed stuff.
Tilly x
Tilly, I have used an inkjet fixative to stop the ink from running, picked up this tip from the PP blog, it comes in an aresol and was quite hard to track down but without it it was impossible to water colour without the ink running.

Hi everyone,
I've been a member of UK Scrappers for quite a while but haven't posted before. I've found this card making section and am finding it so inspiring, you all make such beautiful cards. I make cards in preference to scrapbooking as I struggle with that so much. Here is my spring themed card. First time I've uploaded anything and the photo isn't great I'm afraid. C

Thanks so much Natasha and Jac, it's lovely to receive your comments. Yes, the heart is woven and is from the Scandanavian hearts template by Hotp. There are two sizes of hearts, a butterfly and a flower that can be woven too but I haven't got as far as the last two yet! Chris.

My, these Easter cards are just gorgeous!
I am new to scrapping and thinking about purchasing a die cutter. Big shot was mentioned above, is this versatile?. i.e. embosses, texturises as well as cuts. Also does it take other brands of dies. I have been thinking about a Wizard Spell, any comments would be very welcome, thanks

I've eventually got round to doing a card for this chalenge...had a birthday card to make and love spring colours and flowers so here it is.
I've used MM foam stamps and then doodled on them, the arrow is Stampendous and the strip of lines and flowers are Hero Arts - the little flowers are from different sets of stamps.

They just hopped into my basket before I could do anything! They are adorable and textural too.

As Tracy J pointed out, she thought a certain number of posts have to be made first, she is correct. In fact 10 have to be made.

Actually, I believe you can post attachments without any restrictions on post count - but if you're trying to post with a link to an image hosted elsewhere (i.e. photobucket or flickr or similar) it won't let you - you can't post a 'link' until you have at least 10 posts.

Really lovely cards this challenge.
Here's my take for this month. The colours are much better irl pale blue and vibrant light green card. The flowers are stamped in green and coloured with yellow/orange and then plenty of stickles. The brightly coloured paper on the left is blue/green/yellow and an orange. It came in a DCWV stack and I have been wondering what to do with it - so I thought just use a little of it at a time otherwise it's just too OTT.
