Will maggie make it into a kilt at some time or even the scottish dance costume would be cool and maybe hamish in a jacket. Love hamish in a kilt and so has all that have seen him.

Love the cowboy bookmark, yes the kit will be back but not for a few months. Order only I think.

you already have your DH's birthday card? I'm nearly finished with the cards for the family for this year:rolleyes:

I am so enjoying doing it though.

About the brushes, not only I use the water brush but also a dry brush to remove excess water if needed, I'm still working on the 'technique' but it helps when the brush puts far too much water down. You just use the dry one to move the water that it is already there without adding any more on.

here is my first attempt. took me flippin ages. i decided to colour in first, then search for papers second...this was a very timely mistake.
really pleased with it but need to do loads more practise at watercolouring and shading.
can't figure how to do a link so going to upload into my gallery..i'm a techno dinosaur lol!

You left a comment on one of my cards today, saying how good the shading was... mmm i have a confession, it is not 'shading' as such, Edwin has been cut out and then stuck with foam bits, so when I took the picture it looked like a shadow.... I wish I could do that kind of thing LOL

mariana. i just stamped using the distress ink pad. then used my waterbrush to take colour from the stamped image and move it towards the centre and added a bit more ink onto my waterbrush to add shading where needed. it was pretty quick to do and looks quite effective. i'm still practising with lots of things....

Calendar will be something for 2009 for me, I didn't want to look like a copycat:rolleyes:

I was one of the doubters, who didn't really think that the new Simon and Lola stamps would be my kind of thing.

How wrong was I?? Now I'm going to have to go and have another little look at funkykits to see if I can afford one/any/all (delete as appropriate) of the new stamps. :lol:

I don't normally do ATC's (have done about 4 in my time) but I think I might be tempted if you do hold one. Let me know if you decide to go ahead, and be there with bells on.

That is gorgeous - I really wasn't sure about these stamps when I first saw them but with all the lovely cards being made I can see their potential now! Which just goes to show what clever designers you all are because I would never have considered them before I saw your creations!

Hi Donna (I could almost shout from here :lol: )

I'll stamp some of the ones I know you haven't got. I keep meaning to go to the papermill shop (I'm running out of white card and thought I might give the linen a go like you), but it's going to have to wait until after tomorrow now (as I'm a governor at school and we have Ofsted in tomorrow :blink: ).

The swirl on the card is a sizzix border die cut - we're definitely going to have to arrange to meet eh?? I love looking through other people's stash :wub: :blink: :lol:

My first creation with the new Nellie stamps. Wasn't so sure about these when I first saw them on the blog, but wow they are FAB. Thanks Karen and all at Funky Kits. Thought I would share before the light gets too bad to take photograph. Now off to play with the others..........:)

Lovely cards everyone! I haven't got any Lola stamps so I'm going to have to buck the current trend and show you what I've been making with my Nellies and Maggies etc.

Apologies for the photo - try as I might I cannot stop the bendy look! It's not like that in real life honestly.

You don't need the cling on / EZ Mount if you don't want to faff about with it - just attach the stamps to an acrylic block with some stick glue and bob's your uncle (you can use the cling stuff though - but try without first - will save you a fortune of you get addicted like the rest of us).

Handy to have a stamping mat underneath too - or if you don't have one, a couple of sheets of funky foam, a mouse pad, or even a telephone directory underneath do just as well.

Hi Samm, (haven't seen you online for ages!!) I've made my first ever Sugar Nellie card today - I'm hooked!! I used my derwent pastel pencils and sansodor to colour it in, but I'll be off to the papermill to get some white linen cardstock tomorrow, hopefully. Is that what you use?

I use watercolouor paper/card - pretty thick sturdy stuff for me as I use watercolour paints to shade my images and if the paper is too thin it breaks up due to the wetness of the paints when I blend.

Its a can of worms, trust me, I think the BSD is a compromise.
But I only play by the rules not make them and I am happy to. I love UKS and it has been life changing for me and my business.

Lisa, Caz is Ok and does not take it personally. She only joined UKS at the end of last year and has so many other things to keep her busy.
If I spent as much time crafting as I did on UKS, I might need to buy more paper:lol::lol:
