I know I should ask this in the Craft Fair section, but evidently only sponsors can post there. Does anyone know if the Make-It show is still happening 18-20 January in Farnborough? I looked at the website and it's not been updated in quite awhile.... in fact, it doesn't even show the dates. If it's only a couple weeks away, my instincts tell me something is seriously wrong.
Anybody know? Sponsors???
the site I use to check dates (though it's Bolton I'm after) is here (http://www.make-it.org.uk/index.php) and yours is showing on there....
and I've seen one of the shopping channels selling tickets, as they're going to be there

It's certainly advertising heavily in the mags, and I haven't heard anything to say it isn't going ahead.

Had hoped that it would be in a building now that it's moving to Farnborough. We'll just have to hope there are no storms next weekend!

I had one of their promotional leaflets today in an order so it would certainly look like it is going ahead

See you there,

Anyone been to the one at Thorpe Park before. Is it worth going for more than one day. This is nice and near me so was thinking of getting the 3 day pass?

There's a fair bit at it Helen - but I managed to see it all - and spend quite a lot of money there in just the one day (TBH not much more than half a day!) Its basically lots of stalls selling bits for a variety of crafts (plus clothing and massage cushions to fill in the gaps) a few classes and a (pricey) cafeteria
Can't imagine what you would do if you were intending to go for the full 3 days - unless it was lots of classes.
Thanks Carolyn. The 3 day pass is not much more than 1 day and certainly cheaper than 2 day passses so thought it might be more flexible. Sounds like one day will be enough anyway. I was thinking of popping back the next afternoon if I wanted to.

Oh, good.... but unless I've got browser sneeze or have gone blind, there is NO dates listed anywhere on their website. They mention 'January' and '2008' but that's as specific as they get. Am I missing something???

I've been to the one at Thorpe Park at least 3 times, but I wouldn't think it was worth more than a day. But do plan for a l-o-n-g day (at least 4 hours, IMHO) to see it all, have a rest, etc. There was at least one cafeteria so I assume that the new venue will have the same. It was about on a par with all such places as far as price and offering, but I think they had a lot more seating than Ally Pally. Maybe the new one will be even better.
So are we doing a UKS meet-up?
I plan on going on Sat 19th

That's what DH suggested, so he can take the day off and we'd go together, but I was afraid that not all the vendors will be there on Friday. Hmmmm.... do you think they will?
At Bolton they're all there all 3 days (unless they sell out and don't live local enough to go back for more supplies).
Last year one "stall" (Create and Craft who had a few bits on sale, but much more demos IMO), weren't there on the Sunday as Stephanie had a live show to appear on.
Leaving it until Sunday means risking missing lots of bargains. Both years at Bolton I've found some things sell out on Friday, or very early Saturday. But on Sunday you can sometimes get good deals from stalls who don't want to lug everything home with them
I went all three days in 2006 & 2007, and intend to do the same this year. I've got until May to save up for it

I only live a few miles down the road and it has been in all the local papers in the last couple of weeks, so I think it's still on.

Usually once they've paid for the stalls they want to get as much cash back as they can, so I'd be surprised if they weren't there all 3 days.
If you are after something specific from any particular stall - I'd definitely go on the Fri if you can, or reserve (and pay for) it with them online for collection at the show. Some of the show offers go really fast!

Hi JaneH,
The fair is on the 28th, 19th and 20th of Jan, or at least that's when I will be turning up.
Yvonne
Hi
I've just booked tickets for my sister and I. We're going on the Saturday.
Engish Rose - Wheelchair users can get in 30 minutes earlier, so 9.30 instead of 10.00

As far as I can tell from their website, the Farnborough one is taking over from the one at Thorpe Park, it says on the website that Thorpe Park has moved to Farnborough, also if you click on the buy tickets link it gives you the dates.

I spoke to the people at ETES who rub it and she said they weren't going to be in the office until the 3rd and from then on they would be opening the mountain of ticket applications to start sending them out from then on, so it will be happening.
