these are my favourites so far. I have resisted buying any nellies up til now as I keep telling myself I can't afford them before christmas but if they "jumped" onto my credit card then I wouldn't really be buying them until January when I pay it off Right?:unsure:

This is my first attempt with the sugar nellie stamps. I'm using DH's Derwent watercolour pencils - the smaller set. He has another much bigger set nbut I haven't used that yet;) I have a few others stamped & coloured but I need to write the cards that I have finished before I can play more

Just like the first Nellies the quality is fantastic! They are a dream to colour in!

I'm still getting to grips with the prisma colours and zest it solution! Took me a while to figure out I didn't need a soaking wet stump to blend! My DD has started calling the prisma's "magic pencils" as they really do transform when blended :wub:

Some of the Dutch & Swedish girls do beautiful work with the Prisma's. I still need to get better at leaving some white! Inge has a wonderful tutorial on her blog - thanks again Inge! :)

I use sansador to blend my prismas, think that is more easily available in uk.

I have been using a textured card but your looks like bockingford card/paper, well I think that is what its called could be wrong. Could you please tell me. Thanks.

Here is another card using the sweet winter nellie from the club kit, I coloured her in browns to try and get a vintage feel. The thank-you card is yesterdays card but I have now added some faux stitching as I felt it needed something else!! :rolleyes:

Can I ask some advice as I'm new to this. I dont seem to be able to get any shading on my images. Is it because they're stamped on card and not watercolour paper?

hazel, i use card with the stamps and shading works. try doing the first layer lightly and then adding shading on top. or you can do the "edge" technique that the sweedish and dutch and other magnolia/hanglar girlies use.... you colour inside the outline and then draw the colour into the middle.

Here is my first Maggie card, lighting's not too great as it was taken at night. I cheated and used a star brad for the end of her stick rather than stamp out 1 of her accessories. Got myself some Prismacolor pencils recently and am loving them, still not perfected the art of shading but love the smooth finish you get with these pencils.

Gorgeous cards ladies. My kit and stamps arrived yesterday, they are Christmas presents though and I had to hand them over to be wrapped. I quickly cut them out and stamped some images though, so that I can play before Christmas hopefully.

That is a lovely card (dressing up Maggie) I have that but not made anything with it yet but I am making a Christmas card for my niece using it ... once I get round to it !! :rolleyes:

Here are a couple of Luka and Nellie, the ones with the names on have been paper pieced (jacket, hat and scarf) but I used my marvy pen for the jeans/dress. They are for my niece and nephew, the other 2 were for a card swap and were just watercolour pencils/marvy pens :) TFL.

Good Afternoon Sugar Babes

I am at home today, trying very hard to get this house in order for the holidays, but I am also old enough to know its impossable!

I am loving all your work, I am delighted at how well the UKS sugar babes have welcomed all the little nellies, maggie and friends into their craft space.

I am hoping to address a few little niggles in the new year and hope that the warehouse will run sweeter because of it. I will also be teasing you more after Christmas is past with what we have for you at the start of the year.

Tracy is busy packing today, its sunny and frosty here in Scoltand and a beautiful winters day for those who play with their camera. Poor Tracy will be frost bitten in the warehouse so here's hoping she stays cosy and warm in the office.

thanks melinda, i have some derwent but they're the start ones and aren't soft enough for me, i have some reeves ones which are nicer but i have a rogue "better" derwent pencil that's quite nice so may have to get a few more.
My shading's no way near as nice as yours tho... more practice is needed:)

Only nellies I've made up recently are these which I did for my 2008 calender, wasn't happy with the colouring on schoolgirl nellie but I was running out of steam and wanted to finish the calender, so left it!
