Hello Everybody
I hope you don't mind me joining in but I've been looking at these stamps, and all the beautiful cards you have made with them for some time (and the Sugar Nellies too!). I've finally given in (don't know why I tried to fight it really!) and bought one and here are the first cards I have made with it.
Hope you like them.
PS the snowflakes on the brown one are actually shiny, silver brads - they don't show up too well on the scan!
Apologies if you have seen these before - I posted them on the old thread which made it the 251st post and the thread closed so I don't know if anybody saw them!

So true! Which is why I didn't - I have several more winging their way to me now .... part of my Christmas present from DH you understand!
Thanks for the kind comments - I may just nibble the edge of the brown card now just to check if it tastes like galaxy too!

I'll jump on the bandwagon with that same stamp, Helen. I think it's my fave at the moment - here's something I rustled up with it this evening. It's not finished yet as it's going into a minibook.
And I did an Edwin card for DS2's birthday today.

I hope that I can join in too.....not really a cardmaker yet:lol: but just made my first Magnolia one yesterday. Its here (http://scrapping-with-the-squirrels.blogspot.com/2007/12/one-step-forward-two-steps-back.html)

Looks lovely, Jayne. Are the big scroll swirls the Imaginisce rub ons? I thought that was part of the paper, but then saw you had used some rub ons.
No petra you are right the scrolls are part of the paper its the small pink flowers that are rub ons:)

Lovely cards Petra, (don't expect anything less from you, you know I love your stuff!). I haven't got an Edwin stamp yet but I think I ordered one a couple of days ago - I went ever so slightly mad. I do love that signpost one as well but I haven't seen that anywhere.
How have you done her lantern? The colour of your glass looks brilliant - I never thought of making it look like glass.
And Jemm, your card is great (and I hope you're feeling better, from your blog it sounds as if you've had a right time of it!) I haven't seen that stamp at all - she really is lovely.

I do love that signpost one as well but I haven't seen that anywhere.
How have you done her lantern? The colour of your glass looks brilliant - I never thought of making it look like glass.
I used a clear Gelly Roll glaze to do the lamp. Actually, I "borrowed" the signpost - a couple of other Magnolia afficionados and I met up and stamped away to our hearts' content using the others' stamps.

I've got one of those! I've had it for ages and I've only just discovered it - I've put it on everything that doesn't move this Christmas!
How dim (no lantern pun intended!) not to think of it for that! You will now see it appearing on a Tilda lamp near you soon! Thanks Petra.

Ladies, you are such talented cardmakers. I'm going to have a go with my stamps at the weekend if they turn out half as good as the ones here I will be really pleased.
Isn't it amazing how the same stamp can look so different? Very clever!

Beautiful cards - Pink Princess, you have been busy! I pat myself on the back if I get one card made!
I like the way you have cut really close around your stamp Jenny - I think I'll have a go at that next.
I don't think I'll bother going to school today actually - I think I'll just stay home and colour!
Have a good day everyone - will be back later for more inspiration.:D

Thank you so much for all your comments ladies  I'm just so loving my tildas just now! It is taking a bit longer to do each page than I thought- must remember 'simple and quick' next year!- but I'm really pleased with it so far!
Your card looks lovely Fiona, I really like the soft muted colours.
I love the present stack fifi.... I made these atcs (http://scrapping-with-the-squirrels.blogspot.com/2007/12/bah-humbug.html) with my Magnolia spiders web.

Fantastic Lori! I love the idea of using more than one stamp - the possibilities are endless! And how cute is that snowman?!
I've got that stamp too Fiona (I have altogether rather more now than I did this time last week - I have no idea how that happened!) and what a good idea to use it for a birthday card - I love the colours too.
I've only managed to do one more - it was my eldest daughter's birthday yesterday, so I thought I'd better show an interest! Although I did make all my family and friends look at my Magnolia stamps and cards, whether they wanted to or not!

And I'm intrigued Petra - can't wait to see what you've got in mind. I have an idea for another one too but we've been putting the tree up and watching Bon Jovi on the Royal Variety Performance - a girl has to get her priorities right where Jon Bon Jovi is concerned!

can anyone tell me what card you use to stamp your images onto and then watercolour on as my ink doesnt seem to go watery and spread if you know what i mean so i am now wondering if it is the card that i use
ps love all of your cards the are so fantastic and inspiring

Here's 2 I made for my niece & nephew who are typical teenagers and wanted money instead of presents:rolleyes:. Money is inside the tag cards which are slotted in the pockets, which make up the front of the cards.
Think I prefer Edwin although not that happy with his hair - looks like a wig, the black I used was too thick and heavy
Pink Choc, think it probably will be the card as some can be too absorbant so soaks up all the water. I just use good quality thick card, most of mine come from papermill, just need to experiment.
Pink Chocolate
19-12-2007, 12:22 PM
mmmmmm that could be it then, is it any particular sort from papermill hun and where can get it from?

DoubleDutch
19-12-2007, 02:52 PM
Frances, your cards, such a great idea to 'wrap' up the money :)
Pink chocolate, I use a medium surface cartridge pad from winsor and newton, this can be found in most cs and shops like the Range.
Mine is a A6 size, I'll stamp all pages and then colour the ones when I want to use them
Also any watercolour paper will spread the medium you use better.
Here is another Edwin finished last night

Pink Choc - It various in papermill, I just go looking for the whitest card that's quite thick and relatively smooth or as others have suggested go for watercolour paper, all trial & error IMO.
Marlene, the colours are absolutely stunning (you do realise this is the stamp I should have got instead of the duplicate one I mentioned in the other thread:rolleyes: not fair *stamps foot & sulks*) I hope my 120 set of prismas come soon:(

I've had a little flurry of Magnolia cardmaking the past couple of days. This is one that I gave to my au pair who was leaving us. Note the handy pocket for hiding her Christmas bonus. Anyway, she said she cried for 2 hours on the coach back to Warsaw after she opened it. Hopefully it was tears of joy!

No I didn't know they had one! We were meant to go yesterday as DD2 wanted to get some more beads but the day kind of got away from us and we forgot!
It's probably just as well, I spend far too much in that place as it is!

Marlene, I am very disorganised and will probably pack my bags Sunday afternoon, the only problem is getting up at 2am Monday morning to get to Luton airport in time for our flight, need to be at the car park we have booked by 3.30am.... what are the chances of the children letting us sleep Sunday afternoon!!! thanx for your comment too!!

I remembered reading that you got a blister so I was prepared and made myself go slow and not attempt them all at once:P so yes, pink choc, they come unsharpened but with a sharpener so get ready for some excercise
As for the calender Pink Choc, I got 2 of them and like you left it too late to make them up as gifts (which was the original intention!) but was determined not to waste them so made 1 for me and the other one I've scrapped with photos for my hubby - that was slightly quicker but took me all of last night:wacko:
Karon, I used my photo editing program and just 'resize' photo, mine keeps everything in ratio so I just type in Width of 800 which is the limit for loading on here and it adjusts the rest for me. HTH if not I'm sure someone else will be better at helping

Are they the ones from Lidl? I got more than I needed, but I figured that the quality of the cardstock is really good, so I can just cut them down and lose the calendar part, then use them as the basis of a mini book and rebind with bigger wires.

I have made a card using one of the new spring/valentines stamps that I won off the Magnolia blog over their Christmas giveaways :) Here (http://www.stampingcaz.blogspot.com)

I love the way everyone's cards have a more countryish sort of look to them. If I ink the edges of my paper they just look a mess, also I can't get the mix of papers right if I use more than a couple, some of the cards have such a wonderful assortment of papers and frames as well and they just look right together IYKWIM.

Sugar Neliie isn't a Magnolia stamp but a brand/image sold by one of the sponsors on here- Funkykits.

As Heather said ourselves and FunkyKits sell magnolia stamps.
As they are so popular and due to Magnolias rather dubious/unreliable service, it is hard for anyone to keep the full range in stock.
We still have quite a lot in stock and the new collections are available to preview on the website so it may be worth signing up for product notifications so you will be emailed as soon as the new stamps arrive with us.
Just be careful you don't get addicted!

Lol I know their customer service is atrocious isn't it, but they don't seem to really worry about it though cause people keep buying from them, cause their stamps are soooooooo gorgeous

I won some stamps off their site. So I had to email them my details for them to send..so I thought this is an ideal time to say "hey where are my nov/dec stamps I paid for" they sent me my free stamps and no stamp club, no email or anything. It is terrible service, but we love them all so much! Thankfully Funky Kits and Silly Monkey can help us get our fix.
