BEWARE!!! A total rip off at £26.05 with the postage. The cheap shops sell these but packaged slightly differently ie. the label is different I think with the name of Craft Work. Some of their stuff is quite good and cheap other bits are naff. Not all are acid free although these are. I can get them for £1 in a couple of cheap shops in Southampton. This means QVC are charging nearly double!!! If you look at the photo though the content is badly thought through: there are either 2 or 3 of each letter - and only 2 of letter E - the same number of Q, X and Z. Obviously E is such an uncommon letter lol!!!
It really annoys me when manufacturers do this. Some people would go out and buy another pack but I refuse to as that's what they want you to do!!! Grrrr! Rant over - hope it was useful!!!

My big peel off pack came today. Yes I know the general feeling of peel off's but they are very handy and fast when in times of need.
I was more supprised that they came today, the curiour said he is so behind they have to start delivering on a sunday :) hey, you wont see me complaining. Luckly DH was out so he never saw them arrive.

Just switched on and saw DCWV on... fab! ALso 3 hours starting at 2pm of Anna Griffin, Cloud 9 and then DCWV again - makes a nice change!
Unfortunately I have to go out to take DH to the hospital -- when the appt arrived last week he told me he'd get the bus, at which I asked why he wasn't doing hospital transport (he's entitled and it's free). At 11:30 last night (after DH had gone to bed) DS2 informed me DH had said we'd both be out this morning as I was driving him
Blasted off at him about it this morning, at which he said he hasn't got enough for the bus fare. So I screamed at him that I could have sorted it out for him if he'd let me know yesterday, or he could have arranged transport yesterday. But to get up this morning too late for a bus and expect me to be around to drive him was taking the mickey!!
Especially annoyed as I had a hospital appt yesterday that meant an hour+ in rush hour traffic to get there (doesn't help my back), and I've got night school tonight and I'm heading over to Leeds for a crop on Saturday -- so I could have done without driving for this appt. And the fuel alone is going to cost me more than the bus fare would have done!!!!
So I've just been the shops for a few bits we need for tea, just back in, and about to walk out the door again until heaven only knows when

I will watch today but I won't buy anymore until QVC finally give me my refund for the faulty Boho Chic album kit collected by them on the 2nd November. I am fed up with with their customer services who can't seem to do anything. This is the final straw for me. I used to buy a lot from them but not anymore.

I have only just discovered that QVC is on Quidco.com. Can't believe I didn't check before. I use Quidco all the time to get cashback from loads of places. Now I see I could have been getting 5% cashback for online orders from QVC too. If you aren't already using Quidco...sign up now! A friend I recommended to the site got £100s back as they bought insurance policies that paid out £120 for home insurance and £60 odd for car insurance, as well as other cashbacks too. I'm just totting up how much I would have got back from QVC over the couple of years I've been a Quidco member and it is quite a few pounds. Grrr. Oh well, even more reason to order now lol.

lol...that does make me feel better. I HATE missing out on a saving!
Well, I ended up missing most of the shows today. Managed 10 mins of the morning show between shopping and taking DH to the hospital, but was home around 12:30.
Settled in at 2 to watch the afternoon shows, but couldn't concentrate on the TV and Internet at the same time (unusual for me) so I lay down to watch at around 2:30. After that I saw the show change over at 3pm, and then hear voices from the 4pm show talking about cardstock -- and nothing until 10ish tonight!!! Didn't make night school - that's 3 weeks in a row I've missed out of 10 weeks to cover all the chemistry needed for GCSE single science, so I think I may have to give it up as a bad job this year. I've now missed 5 weeks out of 12, mostly due to back problems but last week being chronic toothache!!!! Looks like DH cobbled something together for tea for himself and DS2, so he must have tried to wake me at some point with no success
Just realised I'm going to miss Rosemary on Saturday as I'm at an all day crop in Leeds :(

Molton Brown TSV launches at midnight Saturday into Sunday so all day on 9th December if there is enough stock! The lines go mad so you would be wise to tune in at the launch.

As has already been said the best bet is to look at the hot picks at midnight to see if there is anything on there! HOWEVER it COULD be a Christmas Suprise in which case you won't see it unless someone can do some detective work? One of the fourms on shopping on the telly has had a list of these so if I can I will keep my eyes open but don't let it stop anyone else!

Surely it's not the cropadile that Nige has been hyping - he'd know that most of us have already got one after it being on as a TSV and then on again on Craft Day. I'll be disappointed if it is!
Me too, everyone I know already has one.

update...:D
my hannah's story kit has just arrived... (literally 30 seconds after nigel got back from walking the dog... )
excellent quality...:D
that one is 7 sheets "speciality" paper... (glittery or shiny etc...) - double sided...
12 sheets single sided... 2 sheets of 6 patterns...
2 sheets of alphabet rub ons... one upper case, one mixed...
sheet of chipboard flowers - gorgeous...
large sheet cardstock stickers
sheet of chipboard quote stickers
sheet of "ABC" chipboard accent stickers
very pleased with it...:D
with the speciality papers
4 are sparkle - totally different patterns...
3 are lustre - this is the same pattern in three different colours....

don't you think it looks very "brenda pinnocky....?"
i think they have got the kits labeled wrong... if you look at the yellow one which is meant to be "all occasions" there is chipboard saying baby... and the yellow album says baby's first year...
but in the "baby" one there is nothing saying baby etc...:D
i really do wonder if they are new kits by brenda... it looks like a very similar set up... but no mini albums... that you can see anyway...

I have a funny feeling it was the papermania tool kit. very boring hour, carried on doing the house work!
It didn't deserve all the hype Nigel gave it. If it was the tool kit - well thats old hat. Cropadile - well we know that they sold them cheaper. I thought the dog one had a lot in it but I dont have a dog..

The kit I was talking about was the Crop-a-dile, and those who say 'everyone has one' are very mistaken as over 1700 sold- lol! The dog kit was great too and sold out. We'll be getting more themed kits from the same company over the coming months. You're right tho Tina - we didn't want the toolkit in along with the Crop-a-dile but there were reasons.......... And anyone who hasn't bought the BP ribbons is missing out big-time.
Who was it said I was over-hyping?????????? Just wait till January Craft Day and Rosemary's TSV in February. You ain't seen nothin yet!

You can't please everyone all of the time - many people thought it was a good show. One thing with Rosemary she always has at least a couple of great items in every show, and she always has great samples and ideas. If its not to your taste, well maybe the next show will be. I am hoping for a cat kit next time, and also an altered art kit or maybe grungeboard and some of Sir Tims storage, ( even tho its scrapbooking) as i don't have a dog either, and i love altered art lol. Nigel is only having a bit of fun....

poppysno
09-12-2007, 03:16 PM
Veronica & Helen - thanks for your support. You're right. It's all a matter of taste. And judging by the high sales, plenty of people thought the 'hype' (I call it advertising) was pitched about right. Based on my discussions with a range of customers in our shop, I bet no more than one crafter in 20 has a Crop-a-dile - so those who already have one and think it's yesterdays news are the minority.
I know Rosemary got at least one of the Molton Brown TSVs.
rosie
09-12-2007, 03:33 PM
So its looks like I'm in the minority, but I bought a crop-a-dile yesterday. Didn't think I needed one but after watching (thanks for letting us know Nigel as I didn't know it was on) my mind was changed and I NEEDED one.
Thanks again, looking forward to receiving it.

Lol Rosie - you were in the majority but you've moved over to the minority. Don't worry about that tho, because over time you'll become the majority again (once everyone has one). Congratulations. Once you start using it you will love it, I promise you.

I got the ribbons, and also the 'seasons' felt shapes. As for Cropadiles, I know that lots of people on here have them and feel they're 'yesterdays news', but out there in the bigger crafting world, not everyone has heard of them, I've taken mine to crops and retreats and lots of people have asked what it is, and then been amazed when they've used it, so well done to Rosemary & QVC for showing it and allowing people to see it.

I know that feeling. I'm addicted to shopping for stash because they look good, and then they just stack up. But my integration scheme I have seems to work fairly well - just have to make sure I hide all traces of packaging in the bin, and empty the kitchen bin on top. DH didn't seem to notice my last big spend on dies at all. And I've even used them too!

Good that you have used them! What with working in a craft shop AND the temptations that Nige puts our way I do have too much (although nowhere near as much as some I know!) and so I have now decided NO more until the TSV in February and only then if I really really like it!

Isn't there a craft TSV tonight Helen?
Yep! Original comments were "Kanban", and latest info is "Oriental"
As neither does anything for me, I spent my pennies at a crop on Saturday and in a local shop today -- A4 cardstock, card blanks and a rather nice rubber stamp...... but as I have soooo many stamps already, that's easy to "lose" amongst the ones I already own

thanks for that
just been and had a look on there, and they have gold embossing paste but no copper (and I particularly fancy the copper with the trees stencil). for 4 pastes, the tree stencil, an alternative snowflake stencil (they don't have the same one) and a couple of palette knives the QVC prices (incl p&p) mean it's less than an extra £5 for the two phrase stencils.....
so I'll leave them on waitlist for now, but bear this site in mind if they don't come through :)

Who bought the 5 sets of votive Xmas candles TSV at the beginning of November?
I've given 2 away as pressies. Have just opened the pine ones to put out on my mantelpiece. I took the candle out of one and found that the glass is broken - cracked right through on the inside. I couldn't have seen this without taking the candle out as the outside is heavily decorated. Am really worried now that maybe the 2 I've given away as presents were possibly broken too.

I put myself on the waitlist for it, not thinking for one minute it would come in stock again at that price, and this morning a bright purple one turned up!! I hadn't heard anything from QVC and I had completely forgotten about it!
Anyone else had this? Needless to say I am keeping it!

19th Jan is craft day - Rosemary has 3 hours on!
Arrrrgh! That's the date that's been mentioned as a possible for a crop
Think QVC is going to win though -- I've a choice of 2 crops the previous weekend, and one the weekend after as well

That's my Dad's birthday!!!
Normally spend the whole day at my parents house, and they don't have QVC on the TV (and no B/band ATM either to watch it on-line either)
But they're not going to be around for us to visit on the actual day this year (they have to be in for long enough to make an 80 mile round trip worthwhile!) -- so I can watch it at home

Just had a call from QVC regarding my missing rub-ons. It's taken them a whole week to get back to me just to find out which pack is actually missing so that they can make enquiries. Discovered that the rub-ons aren't in the kit contents on their system but they were DEFINITELY shown & included on the display board in the Cloud 9 show. Started to think maybe I was wrong but just watched the video back yet again & she both uses them on a LO and mentions them when going through the contents.
Did anybody else order this kit (586669) or remember the rub-ons from watching the show? I ordered the chocolate but it comes in sorbet also & the rub-ons are shown for this kit too. Worried now they will remove the video as this is my only proof that the rub-ons should be included .

Having told everyone about the QVC Quidco link, I can't get it to work. Really odd, as every other Quidco link I've ever tried has worked no problem, but I keep getting a 'this page cannot be displayed ' notice with QVC. All Quidco help can suggest is disabling Norton, but I'm actually not too sure how I do that, and also, I don't fancy paying for something on line when I've no virus protection working. Grrr.

Be very careful if you disable Norton - it's not designed to be disabled and wrecked my computer when I disabled it - very, very, very costly - far more than you'll save with QVC!!!

Ok folks
I run an afrerschool craft class and do a lot of minibooks etc. The guy who holds the budget has agreed to me buying some more papers as we want more exciting ones than the colossal pack that we have used.
I bought some Rob & Bob papers (180 I think) earlier in the year and wnat a big pack of luscious papers for the kids to use.
ANy ideas of any good buys you may have got/seen on QVC?

Not on QVC, but my local papermill shop had the DCWV mini stack 3 which gives you 180 6x6 sheets for about £6-£7. HTH

gilly... on the site they were saying that orders placed by the 12th dec should be with people by christmas... but orders placed after the 12th (so sadly including you) would now be processed after the christmas break... hopefully they will still be with you for school going back though... depending on when your school returns... the parcels are all being delivered by DHL and hopefully they will be less busy once christmas is out the way...

Hi all.
Although I had a lovely time with Mum yesterday evening they were at a 60th birthday lunch today and I had the dreadful task of ringing my Dad to tell him that his favourite aunt had died. She was also a favourite of mine too and it was suddenly so I really am in shock. Just come on to tell you all cause I don't feel like chatting much at the moment.
