Wow Mary you are quick off the mark again. Those photos are fab. I am just trying to see if I have some photos to use..... or I might just have a very tedious link to the foreign bit
Mary Buttons
20-11-2007, 10:27 PM
I was going to use a photo I got from a magazine (I think) some time ago when i wanted something really cold for a calendar. but Tigerlady said I might share her photos and I am really pleased with this LO think I might send it to her.
AlliR
20-11-2007, 10:29 PM
I think it is lovely and I am sure she would be touched if you sent it to her. I've decided to use photos of Liam at 3 months old cuddling a rabbit our neighbours bought for him in France.... told you the link would be tedious!
Mary Buttons
20-11-2007, 10:41 PM
Well this is what they said on the thread
Wow - that was quick. Off for a look - but don't forget for those who dont holiday abroad its OK to think outside the box - if you can argue it's OK - it is!
Corinna
20-11-2007, 11:07 PM
Aha - thought it was odd I hadn't had any e-mails saying there were new posts, we got auto created. Forgot it was going to happen this time round!
As so many people asked about the What Not To Wear Day I'll post a bit about it.
The lady is Shan (pronounced Sian) Williams and she is based in Malmesbury. She is a Colour Me Beautiful consultant and runs these days about once a month. The next ones are Sat 1st Dec, Sat 16th Jan and Sat 23rd Feb. It costs £55 and I reckon you would save that in 6 months on not buying the wrong clothes any more!!
If anyone wants some more details, let me have your e-mail addy and I will forward you her Christmas e-mail flyer that I have just received. If you contact her can you say that I recommended her so that she knows where her referrals are coming from (what areas she is covering). Thanks

I hav had a challenge thrown out to me to scrap something with clashing colours cos she says that most of my LO are monichomic (not sure that a word) Oh and am I having trouble doing this I don't really like colours too clashing thats why I don't like too busy papers
AlliR
20-11-2007, 11:43 PM
Well mine have reached the dizzy heights of success already! Helped at preschool this morning and Joe painted his top red in the space of about 30 seconds

No I have not been on the computer much at all today, went into town this afternoon was going to photograph the lights but met up with Neil and he brought me home did manage to get two alpha stacks in poundland in each pack there is 50 of each letter paper weight but none the less I thought a bargain.

Well the fresh air is better for you anyway Mary :D Great LO Trudy.
Now I am off to apply some TLC to the glitter bells the kids made at playgroup last week. They looked great when they were made but the paint has kind of slid off while drying and so I will hopefully be able to touch them up so none of them are any the wiser. They look a bit sorry for themselves at the moment, can't let the kids see them like that

Mary did you sleep better last night...
Mary Buttons
22-11-2007, 09:27 PM
No I didn't I went back into my own bedroom but it was worse than the night before, but I do have a doctors appointment for Monday so I hope she will be able to sort something out for me. As long as she doesn't want to put me on sleeping tablets cos they make me so lethargic but don't make me sleep any better.
trudy8
22-11-2007, 09:32 PM
Mary have you ever tried a relax tape or CD,it is very much like being hypnotised. Because I think you are going to bed waiting to wake up.

Mary have you ever tried a relax tape or CD,it is very much like being hypnotised. Because I think you are going to bed waiting to wake up.
sorry I got mt d and c mixed up:(. I was'nt suggesting you have a DC..
Mary Buttons
22-11-2007, 10:41 PM
Yes I often put on a tape of flute and bird song very relaxing, but as I have said before its not getting to sleep that the problem I can always get to sleep and go to bed very positive, but the hot flushes wake me up, as soon as I cool down again I go to sleep again and so it goes on through the night. Unfortunately now I seem to wake in pain which is harder to drop off again through
Mary Buttons
22-11-2007, 10:43 PM
Well I have tried to do the clashing/contrasting LO not sure if I have succeeded and not sure that I like it, it seems a something and nothing one. but here it is if you want to see.
trudy8
22-11-2007, 10:48 PM
I think you have done the right thing maybe the doctor can give you something for the hot flushed rather than the sleep.
your LO colours go together rather than clash :nono:
Mary Buttons
22-11-2007, 11:02 PM
I cant do clashing its no good just jars on my eyes and on my nerves saying that I did do a flower arrangement in church once with yellow and pink two colours that just don't go together but somehow they did and look really nice, unfortunately I wasn't into photography then and never took a photo.
AlliR
22-11-2007, 11:43 PM
TBH I think sleeping tablets are not the way to go unless there is no other problem.... you need to sort the cause not the sympton so I think you are doing the right thing to ask the doc about the hot flushes. I am sure they will see you right.
And I am sorry, I agree with Trudy..... the colours don't seem to clash to me either  but if you like I will have a go at your challenge too because I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to that sort of thing as well. Will see what I can do over the weekend.
You didn't think much of the footie training then Steph? :P
Mary Buttons
22-11-2007, 11:48 PM
Here it is much brighter not sure that I like it any better but at least think it more or less covers the challenge.
AlliR
22-11-2007, 11:51 PM
It's certainly brighter - and I asked Dave if he thought the colours clashed and he said yes. So well done, you have done the challenge

Here is another clashing colour LO (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=143308&cat=2) (I was told by the person who set the challenge that the other didn't really clash because I had blended the colours together.
this one has been done more for the journalling and tells the story of my DD's lack of dress sense and my DS's complete oposite sense

I've done most of my Christmas kit..... just need to add some embellies. The accordian book inside the handbag album has 8 'pages' on each side. So 16 altogether but I stuck mine together so I only have 8 on show and covered. Each page is approx 17.5cm x 11cm (just under 7" x 4.5"). Will post piccies when I have finished it and also bring along on Saturday but hopefully that can help you start thinking of themes and photos.

Glad you are back online Mary. Great choice Trudy - very original. Will start putting a list together.
I've been busy this evening making a birthday card for a friend (hope she likes it) and finishing my December kit. Here's a peek. Will bring it along on Saturday so you can get an idea of sizes etc. Added some rub ons and blooms from my stash.

Afternoon all
Have been to Borders to pick up two books which I ordered for my DD's Christmas present. Over to a friend how has just moved in to the show house just behind the Opital Complex and then straight into town to take up the advent presents for my DS & his GF Neil was cuffed with it and then we went up to Longs for lunch, and his phone did not ring while we were there which was a bonus as it usually does.

is anyone thinking about their christmas tree yet? cause on all the american blogs i read, they already have their trees up!
Mary Buttons
29-11-2007, 06:29 PM
No much too early you get bored with it before Christmas arrives. and the original time to put up and decorate the tree was Christmas eve.
AlliR
29-11-2007, 06:47 PM
I agree Mary, way too early it is not even December yet! I saw that someone at the top of our orad has their decorations on the outside of their house already..... Our tree will go up about 10 days before Christmas, and it comes down on 2nd Jan.

Right, I've made my CJ book, so we can see if any of the newbies would like to join in. Also got the list of themes and some brief notes on how to make the book and take part in a CJ. We have 2 more new people joining us on Saturday, quite new to scrapping too.

No much too early you get bored with it before Christmas arrives. and the original time to put up and decorate the tree was Christmas eve. I soooo agree with you Mary......there's someone in my team has their tree and decs up already! As I'm not 'doing' Christmas this year there will be very little to put up and take down anyway!
Alli.....we're on a roll with the newbies! Have you been advertising somewhere new or is it word of mouth? It's great that our group is going from strength to strength!
My CJ theme is gonna be 'I wish.....' ;)

AlliR
30-11-2007, 07:41 PM
Complete change of subject but if anyone knows anyone who would be interested in the accounts administrator/waiting list secretary role we have at preschool please let me know. It's 15 hours a month for the accounts stuff, working from home but we need someone who can go to preschool at least 3 mornings a week to collect post, drop off cheques etc (only 15 mins or so each time). The waiting list work is paid extra, and it varies from term to term depending on the number of children attending. I wish I could do it but too much on and it would mean I have to resign from the committee.
