Following on from something Sandy mentioned in another thread, has anyone used an o ring in their CR2 to increase cutting pressure. Does this work? Can it be done? If so, how? Where does the o ring go?

you dont need the o ring in the white model, you turn your blade a qtr turn when using the carrier sheet this compensates for the o ring

In my side-by-side testing of the original CR next to the new pink WB (which is the same as the new CRII), I found that with the same blade holder, same image, same mat, same Bazzill cardstock and same settings, the older CRI cut better than the newer WBII... and yes, I had the blade holder inserted a quarter of a turn to the right. I then added a single layer cardstock ORing to the pink WB and I was able to get it to then cut through the Bazzill and work as well as it did in my CR. I repeated these tests over and over with Bazzill and each time, I found that adding an ORing helped. Thus, it is my belief that ORings benefit the owners of new Graphtec cutters just as much as they do the owers of the older Graphtec cutters. I know this is not what anyone has told you before, but you can certainly run your own tests and see if it helps. :)

This is the info I'm interested in, thanks Sandy. i saw you'd mentioned it on another thread. Can you tell me please where the o ring goes?

Pop your coloured cap through 'O' ring first then seat the blade holder as normal.

That's right! Just slide it onto your bladeholder so that you can see it just barely raises the holder up. That gives your blade that little tiny extra distance to travel on its way down and gives it more "oomph!" Again, this is what I recommend if (1) you're using a thicker mat than the OEM or (2) you're trying to cut one of the cardstocks that is giving you problems. You still may need to cut twice, but I can assure you that the "oomph" helps! :)
putting my cautious hat on here as I've been caught out before with electrical products by changing something that wasn't stated in their documentation as being needed but everyone else did
Perhaps its worth checking with Graphtec that there wont be a problem with the warrenty if people start adding O rings. If they have said that it's not needed with the newly designed blade holder and people do and a problem occurs will they say the warrenty is invalid?
