Hi Linda

Was a nice crop, thanks! See you Saturday.

Lindy
01-11-2007, 05:09 PM
It was a great nights cropping, very relaxed and I thought Heathers boyfriend Michael was very brave to come and join us. I really liked the LO he did - isn't it nice they can share the scrapbooking interest.

Also made a difference having some background music on too - once I'd figured out how it worked:lol:

Jillybee
01-11-2007, 07:46 PM
Yeah Michael did well didn't he. Don't see my DH coming to a crop. Think it must be love!!!!

The music was good wasn't it, it filled in gaps when we were concentrating!!!

Jillybee
01-11-2007, 08:41 PM
Eeek Linda have taken a big step, need someone to hold my hand!!

I have ordered my first kit from Back Porch Memories, done exactly as you said 'medley' and auto-ship. Ooooh scarey, much scarier than Halloween!

Happy Hazel
01-11-2007, 10:38 PM

Lindy
01-11-2007, 10:43 PM
That'll teach me to read properly - sorry about that Hazel. That's not very good of them - hope you find something soon.

Jill if Paula asks who recommended you to them don't forget to mention my name as I might be lucky enough to get a little bonus as a thank you which we could share.

Happy Hazel
01-11-2007, 10:58 PM

Jillybee
02-11-2007, 10:04 AM
Thanks for the support girls! I actually just put down that it was recommended by a friend. When I get the first kit I will email her and mention your name.

Sorry to hear about the job Hazel. What a bummer! I thought they were crying out for people doing your job and especially someone with experience.

Happy Hazel

Lindy
02-11-2007, 05:22 PM

Hope you all ok. Where is everyone?

Lindy
05-11-2007, 05:51 PM
Hi Jill - I'm here after a mad day at work - last minute rush on problems didn't help. still I've got tomorrow off. Think mum wants to go out to Tavistock, somewhere I always enjoy going - might just have to check out the little needleshop while I'm there:lol:

Happy Hazel

hi all

how is everyone enjoying the fireworks we had a nice display in work tonight

can't wait until the end of the month when i see you all again

hazel

Lindy
06-11-2007, 10:00 AM
While I heard the fireworks going off I didn't actually watch any - I was busy trying to make some more Christmas cards. I've run out of silicone glue so need to get some today so I can do some more decoupage designs from a kit I've had for ages.

Will be good to see you again Hazel - it's seems ages.

Happy Hazel
06-11-2007, 10:09 AM
it does seem ages that i last saw you

i've never used silicone glue for decoupage is it easier than 3d foam pads

Jilly Hazel said I must take note of your organisation - I posted a thread asking people how they get organised for crops as I'm so rubbish at it. I will be coming to find you tomorrow :)

Lindy
09-11-2007, 03:15 PM
Just got back from a couple of days in Birmingham - went to the NEC with a 'newbie' to all things crafting and she loved it - so did I. I've bought another alphabet set for the sizzix machine and a couple of dies for you to play with tomorrow.

I think I'll be using sketches too Sarah.

Dee - I've added Liz to the list and look forward to meeting her tomorrow.

Jillybee
09-11-2007, 05:27 PM

Hi Ladies - just dropping in to say thanks for a great crop yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it and got more done than I've achieved before so all the tips work from the thread I posted. Thanks to Jilly and Sarah for the inspiration - I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again in January (seems like years away). Unfortunately I won't be able to make it along to the December one (I'll be in Bristol).

Take care all.

Welcome back Hazel - glad you had a nice time.

Sarah - congratulations of LOTW. Just waiting for CM to ring me back to take my order for frames and boxes. Thank mum for the lovely cup of tea.

We popped up to Newton Abbot for an hour or so - mum wanted to check out the stall in the market where they sell wool, but we were a bit disappointed. Did manage to pick up some Christmas ribbons though to go on my Christmas cards or maybe even a LO.

Loved your mums cross stitch pictures and knitting too.

Aww ... Hazel, I'm sorry I missed you the other night - would've been nice to have a chat. I've been experiencing internet problems - I get onto the net for two minutes then it crashes. Funny thing is the Freeview on the TV has also been affected - picture keeps cracking up and my lights keep flickering at night. I'm wondering if I have an electronic poltergeist :D:D:D:D

Jillybee
16-11-2007, 07:44 PM
Well maybe!

Nice that you are out there Dee, not many people seem to join us do they?

What have you been scrapping the past day or so?

I am doing a couple of minibooks. One of tropical flowers and the other, entirely different, of/and for an elderly aunt of DHs. Don't know much about her and she is in a home but its got to be done by the 20th December. Just trying to pad out the journalling to make it worthwhile!!

Happy Hazel
16-11-2007, 09:03 PM

sorry to have missed you as well Dee let's hope you don't have an electrical poltergeist

haven't done much scrapping but i've done 1 cj entry so far another one to do

16-11-2007, 09:18 PM
Hi again.

All you clever CJ people! Really haven't got the nerve to show my lack of talent to other people. Think I'll stick to my 12x12 LOs and minibooks!!

sarahy
16-11-2007, 09:22 PM
Jill, stop putting yourself down and get yourself on a CJ. You will love it and you are definitely talented enough to do it :)

Happy Hazel
16-11-2007, 09:29 PM
Jill you'll be brilliant on a CJ

hazel

Jillybee
16-11-2007, 10:17 PM
Thanks all. I suppose I might be a bit self critical but its soooooo scarey!

Happy Hazel
16-11-2007, 10:20 PM
i'm hoping to bring my First CJ with me to the next crop on the 28th so you can see what goes in them

it is scary the first time but you soon get over that

i'm in about 4 different CJ at the moment not all on UKS

hazel

Craftdee
18-11-2007, 12:25 PM
Jilly two of mine are coming to an end very soon (and I'm addicted to them) so if you fancy signing up to one with me I'd really like that. I'll probably be ready to do it in January if you feel so inclined.

You are a wonderful scrapper and people would love to have a contribution from you in their CJs. Everyone is at a different level in a CJ - some do very simple layouts others really go to town on their CJ entries - all are unique and individual and that's what makes a great CJ. You'd see that for sure when your first one comes back to you. I love making up my own covers - for me that's one of the nicest bits but to see it come home full of art work from the team .... well that's such a joy!

In the words of the infamous Mrs Doyle ..... go on, go on, go on, go on!

Craftdee
18-11-2007, 12:26 PM

Hi all

Could be a problem Dee but thanks! I'm away for two months from the middle of January and you can imagine the problems I will be coming back to one way or another, but maybe next year later I might have a go.

18-11-2007, 10:36 PM
Hi all

Yep Hazel not been too bad. Had a great day yesterday chatting and stuff. Linda and me went to the demo at The Range and met up, by chance with Dee and her friend. (Think DH thought I had left home!) Take it you are ok? How's the job hunting going? Am off tomorrow up to Gatwick and Tuesday to the USA for a week, so I'll see you on the 28th!!

Craftdee
18-11-2007, 11:05 PM
It was just a though Jilly - but would really encourage you to have a go at a CJ - it's a great way to pick up new techniques and ideas for layouts. Have a great trip by the way.

Happy Hazel
18-11-2007, 11:21 PM

Have a good evening Lindy.

I think Tina (my friend that you met at the Range) would like to come to the Saturday crop on 11th January, would you put both our names down please? I will check with Lucy and her friend after Christmas but I think they intend to come to that one.

Is anyone going to the Exeter Craft Fair on the 12th January (Westpoint) - they're holding it very early, it's normally in February.

Lindy
20-11-2007, 08:19 PM
Will put you both down for the January crop Dee. I'm hoping to go to Westpoint, but will have to see how the funds are as I'm supposed to be saving for my cruise in March!

Craftdee
20-11-2007, 09:23 PM
Thanks Lindy, the cruise sounds lovely but surely you'd need to take along some scrappin' stash - just incase you get bored ;) Yeah, I know, I''m a very bad influence :)

IT'S ME, JILL!!!

Hi All

Pamela's computer won't let me log on as Jillybee as she is also a uks member and I can't find anyway of doing it!! You will have to put up with me being Pamela!!!

Got such a busy week ahead. Am helping out with a charity event at 4am tomorrow morning! Yes I really mean 4am and then quite a few of us are doing a 5 km fun walk/run at 7am then back for a quick shower before Pam Jack me and the in-laws go out for Thanksgiving Day lunch. Think Pam and and me will be going to the sales (craft of course!) on Friday and probably Saturday as well, Pam's other friend who is a crafter flies in from the UK on Sunday and her and me are 'attempting' to find 'lone star crafts' somewhere in Houston for yet more craft stuff - its all go isn't it!!

Linda have you got the back porch memories kit yet? See I have a link to a sneak peak of December's kit.

Will contact you all again soon

luv Jill

Lindy
21-11-2007, 05:31 PM
Hi Jill - thought we had a newbie member for a minute. You've tired me out just reading what you're going to be up to! Think I'm going to have to get in training for next year if I'm going to keep up with you:lol:

Backporchmemories kit hasn't arrived yet:( hopefully won't be much longer though. I've seen the sneak peak and I love the stamps that are coming with the yummy paper.

PamelaH
21-11-2007, 09:11 PM
IT'S ME, JILL!!!

Ok thanks Linda,

You certainly will have to be in training, as Pam picked me up she said we were going out for a meal for someone she knows birthday and I was still up at 11pm our time here to wait up to see Jack when he came in from work!!! Goodness knows what time it was your time about 5am I think!!

I said to Pam about next year and she laughed as said even for me that was a long time ahead (she knows how I like to pre-arrange things!) but that would be ok and she would keep it in mind!

Lovely to see you today Hazel - broke up the housework very nicely:lol: Did manage to get the downstairs sorted today so feeling better about that.

Jill the Backporch memories kit arrived while Hazel was here so she has seen it before you too!! It's lovely as per usual - embellishments that go with kits are fab too.

Dee, I'll probably take my cross stitch with me if I get bored and a book or two! Think I'll need to invest in another card for the camera though so I can take loads of photos to scrap when I get back.

HI Linda
See you tommorow at Exeter then, hope its not too cold first thing
I might be joining your Plymouth Group (if thats allowed), in the future, depending on certain things.

Hazel
How are you, long time no see, I am no longer allowed on P&L as have been banned and deleted, don't know why, and to be honest - don't care either.
Hope to see you at Scrapaholics soon.

Take care all, Elaine x

Hi Elaine - good to hear from you. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, it seems ages since the last Exeter crop/retreat. You'd be welcome to come along to the Plymouth group anytime you want - so long as Julia doesn't think I'm 'poaching' you.

I might attend both for a while, but sometimes - especially in the winter months, the travelling can be a pain up and back on the A38.

I know what you mean Elaine - but i'm just addicted to crops and thankfully my work isn't as hectic as yours! which means I'm not having to rush around quite as much as you do.

I've been busy sorting out my ribbons, brads and eyelets this evening so that they are in the craft bags that I can take with me each time (where they should have been in the first time if I had bothered to put them there). At the moment I am really trying to sort out my stash so that I'm better organised for each crop and not have to take quite so much stuff with me each time!! Just need to sort out what photos I'm going to scrap tomorrow now.

IT'S ME JILL!!!!!

Hi all

Have bought loads of stash, lots and lots! Have got cricut carts at 25 pounds! At the moment can't get the fuzzy fabric pens Linda. Am going to a dedicated scrapbook shop on Monday so hopefully will find them there. Have got the mats and blades for the club though.

Enjoyed the charity thing yesterday morning and walked the Turkey trot walk of 5km in less than 44 minutes so the fitness is up to scratch!!!

Hope you enjoy the crop Linda. Have you got the Back Porch memories kit yet? Bought lots of paper over here even though I said I wouldn't!!

Will be back on here soon. Looking forward to next Wednesday's crop, see you all then

Sounds like you're having fun Jill - don't worry if you can't get the pens. Yes the Backporch memories kit has arrived and it is fab!

I'm organised for the crop in the sense I've got photos, papers and embelishments put together for potentially 7 LO's but I doubt I'll get them all put together though:lol:

How's your day been Hazel?

Evening ladies - how are we all? Saw Sarah (Monroegirl) and her mum at the local craft shop today - we were all really glad to get in out of the cold - wasn't it chilly today?

Saw something so gorgeous this morning. I went out about 9am and there was still frost on the ground. I have some hardy ballerina fuscias in the garden which are still in bloom and each one was coated in frost. I was so tempted to rush back in and get the camera, but I would've been late for my appointment if I had. It was so beautiful. I know Jilly - I should've been late - a missed opportunity :D:D:D

I took some photos of my fuschias with the frost on today, not sure how they've come out - couldn't resist the opportunity. I'm sure this will be many more frosts to come Dee.

Crop was really good today, although I still only managed to get 2 LO's almost completed and a birthday card made.

Yes, plenty more frosts to come no doubt, but I guess the fuscias may not last much longer with the cold :D

Hi all

glad the crop went well Linda - you did well with your LOs.

Its been cold here for Houston anyway at about 50deg. Very very wet and thundery most of the day. Done a bit more craft shopping but planning the rest for Monday when Anne Pam's crafting friend flies in tomorrow with her young daughter.

Have hardly taken any photos whilst I have been here - must remember my camera for the craft shop on Monday!!

Will chat again soon
