Hi Katie and Dominique, I am going with my Mum and my friend Tracy (who is on here occassionally). I don't think many UKS's are going and I have posted threads in the past few months and got very few replies!

Have you all booked your classes yet (and made your name badges??? )

katiewalton

We have booked our classes, My Oh Maya and Album Track 1 and 2. We are looking forward to seeing the papers etc.!!!

Name Badges ???? Do we have to make them ???, if so how big etc.

We are both really new to this Help !!!!!!

Thanks

Your name badge can be as big or small as you like, flat, 3-d, basically anything goes!!!! From what I understand, the retreat is going to be a smaller affair this time so you should get to know everyone :)

It's been a while since I went to a Scrapaholic retreat but there is normally a prize for the badges :)

and If you don't want to, you don't have to make a badge, its all very relaxed.

I'm going to be there on my own - I will be the one walking with a stoop I've just popped a disc in my back but I am determined I will be there. Look forward to meeting you all. My name is Shauna - hoping there might be someone there I have met before.

am still deciding on some others to.
Got so many photos to get organised and now a name badge to make - help!

Hi Everyone

Sorry again for not posting - I was getting better and then my cold turned to sinusitis so am on anti-biotics at the mo; getting better but not as quick as I'd like!
I've missed some of the cybercrop classes but will do them once there PDF'd.
Tanya thanks about the advice on the name badge - I will try to do one if I have time as I think it's a lovely friendly idea.

Am going to email Sarah as some of the classes I am doing to do not stipulate the photos req or the colours; classes are : Star Attraction and Speed it Up unless anyone else knows more about them??

I have now nearly finished getting my photos organised - went to Boots in the end 24hr service and they did 197 photos for £12 which I thought was really good value am really pleased with the results, just need to either re-size some for the Maya Road mini album or crop them. Also need to get a few 7x5's but Boots gave me a £1.50 voucher off for 20 so I will be taking them there again.

How are you ladies getting on with your photos? Please let me know what classes you have booked (am just nosey) as I'd really love to know if any of you will be in the same classes.

Tanya
07-10-2007, 03:35 PM
I never managed to get anything organised, esp photos!!! I just turn up and wing it, which is probably why I have so many unfinished LO's!!!!

Sorry to hear you have ended up on antibiotics, hope it all clears up soon :)

I can't remember the names of the classes I have booked! I know one is Friday night! better go check :)

Hi
just got round to checking my emails and have received an email from Sarah with a little sneak peak at the classes - I must say they look great!

Tanya I'm sure you are more organised than me - am just hopeless:lol:
twice I've turned up at the crop recently and forgotton all my photos; it's got so bad that my friend Anne has to remind me before we leave.

Hi Lesley great to hear from another "retreater" looking forward to meeting you and everyone else!

Have finally decided on my classes - right this is it I can't keep changing my mind it's just that I want to do them all but I know I'd be exhausted.

One Way Traffic
Album track 1 & 2
My oh Maya
Speed it Up
Look Here

I have so many little projects of my own that I want to do in the spare time so have tried to resist booking everything!

Lesley have you booked your classes yet?

Tanya can we add bits of our own to any of the class kits? or perhaps buy extra pp's to add extra pages or LO's?

Tanya
10-10-2007, 07:36 PM
You can add bits it you want and hopefully there will be extra pp to buy (if not all the kits are sold, then they may sellthem off after the class :) ) You can adapt the LO to your own taste/design although you will be given an instruction sheet for the class LO.

Extra classes are usually bookable when you get there as well usually very tempting when you see the completed LO's/projects!!!!

Hi everyone!

i am going to the retreat with Dominique and getting very excited!! finally sorting out my photos and stash. bought a new suitcase today for clothes etc, but think most of it will end up filled with supplies!

so far then we have Katie and her mum, Tanya, Tracy, Shauna, Lesley, Dominique and me.

i am doing one way traffic, keep it kinetic, special smile, my oh maya, speed it up and lucky in love. probably trying to squeeze far too many in, but as it's my first retreat i'm not sure how many is a good idea!

didn't know about the badges!! will have to try and make one asap.
Teresa

Thanks Anne!

Max now has a stomach bug and I still have sinusitis - with the retreat only one week away - I'm panicking a bit to get all my clothes, bits to take etc.. ready on time!
Why is it when you plan something everything goes wrong leading up to it - am a bit fed up today so just ignore me :(

Teresa nice to see you've found us and don't worry I've still not had the energy or the time to do a name badge yet either.
Sorry didn't call you back on Sunday but Max was being sick all the time and the day just flew. Will call you today.

Can't wait to get away now from all this illness - poor Max he's been ill on and off for a month - oh gotta go he's waking up.

love n hugs to everyone

Dom

Hi all,

have finally managed to get my photos organised. have become a bit too organised now i think - i have my lovely husbands birthday pressie from last year - an organiser 12x12 thing with lots of pockets - all labelled up with the names of the classes and all the photos in the right bit so i can grab and go!! also got a load of other photos with matching papers in other sections so that i can get on with scrapping in my 'free' time and not spend ages chossing papers like i normally do! phew!!

just making my badge now. it will probably look a bit blue peter-ish - but at least you'll all know who i am!

when are you all arriving?

see you soon

Teresa

as there is no evening meal included on the friday, Dominique and i are going to stop at a beefeater nearby before we arrive - probably about 4pm, so that we get to the hotel about 5pm. we looked at the hotel menu and although it loos lovely it is pricey - and we'd rather be spending on stash! you are all welcome to join us there if you'd like to, or suggest an alternaitve. it's about 2 miles away just off the A27 / A3 junction

How many classes have you all booked - I think I've booked 7 or 8 I am a bit of class junkie - do you think perhaps I've picked too many??? I was going to do as many classes as possible as I can only bring a very limited amount of my scrap stuff as I've done my back in and can't carry much. So I thought I would do loads of classes.

Tanya
17-10-2007, 11:38 PM

Got back a while ago, fab drive home - virtually no traffic jams :D

The car is now empty and all the bags are sitting on the living room floor and no-one is home for me to tell them what a fab weekend I have had :)

Thank you Sarah and Mandy, We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the hotel was lovely, food was scrummy and I met lots of new people, saw lots of fab LO's and even got some scrapping done!

Hello to all the new peeps I met :D

Do feel a bit strange now it's all finished such a long time building up to it and it goes so quick.

Big thanks to Lorraine for bringing such a lovely selection of tempting stash.

Just can't wait till I get the chance to do it all again!
