I will be hopefully. I'm sat her very patiently (NOT) waiting to find out whether I've got through to the next stage of the Bad Girls Contest that I'm in.

I'm making a mini book for an online penpal in Canada, and I would like to catch up on the last 2 pencil lines. But theres probably not enough hours in the day for all of that

How about you?

Well I have the morning to myself, I ran my errands and am now working on my scraparea...I am going to get it all cleaned up and then work on messing it up again! I should be cleaning my room and bathroom but no one really sees it anyways  so I think I will scrap instead. Brandon is getting off early so he gets to pick up the boys and I don't think I am going to do anything else today..maybe hit the gym or do some pilates later tonight but we will see...
Maybe I will take a look at pencil lines..I still haven't gotten into the habit of doing those, maybe they will help!

Congrats Sandie on getting to ''the next round'' and on the weightloss!!

Congrats to you Denita as well! You go girls!!! Love all that space you've got! I've got the spare room for my stash, but my desk is tiny compared to yours.. and not to mention all the mess that's in my room!!! But hey.. never mind.. nobody ever sees it anyway! :P Well Bella, my bunny does see it as she knows nothing better then playing with my box of scraps..

Well.. I've got couple of hours of ME-time as Paul had to go back to work to spend some $$$$ So I'm off to go and stroke my stash!

Talk soon!

Great Mojo LO again Sandie, and like MAry says the sketch is always handy to work from....

Hope you are all having fun in the sun! Had to get both boys new shoes today, with Liam throwing a strop in Clarks as well just to make things easier  Shame you can't just remove their feet and take them in there on your own really.... would be much quicker and quieter.

I've got the October kit here, I really like this one too - need to get my finger out if I am to do something with it by Monday!!

Hi everyone
Congrats on the weightlosses girls - didnt realise there were so many of us dieting (Emma & I are on the weighwatchers trail again). Have lost 5 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks, so doing OK so far!

Sandie - well done on getting through the next Bad Girls round. Don't know how you have time to do all these things!!

Right, back to the revision! Looking forward to seeing you all Monday, though I doubt I will be doing any scrapping - will be far tooo stressed about Wednesday to even think about settling down to doing anything!

:lol: Don't feel so bad...I am the same way! I have shelves and boxes filled with unused stash! So I also had to develop an addiction to storage materials! I buy cookie containers, spice racks and pencil holders...anything I can get my hands on really! It's a sad double addiction...wonder if there is a 12 step program?
My husband is off selling some of our junk at a boot fair this morning...we have far too much stuff taking up space, I so carefully went through and got several things from my stash that I didn't have room for and what does he do but forget them! Not very supportive!

Denita, Well done sorting through all your stuff! I must say that I do miss going to ''Dayroom sales'' (boot sales or garage sales!) every Saturday morning while we were stationed in Iceland. You often came across some bargains!!!

Not much going on here. I need to do a ''Thank You'' paper bag book for my FIL and his wife. And need to get started on that today, as I want to send it out before our holiday. Other then that, there's not much going on here. Doing laundry, packing and will be heading to ASDA later today to get the last few things for our trip! Getting really excited now and I think I'll be even more excited when I've bought the memory card for my camera.. as then I'm all sorted!!! :D

Off to get started on the paper bag book!!

Talk soon!

Hi Folks I am struggling today had a really bad night, got up at 6 cos I keep tossing and turning, I have been trying to do my meandering book and its not going well at all. Think I need to go and get a cuppa and tuck myself up some where and snooze.

I haven't sorted anything out for tomorrow yet except I think I know what photos I am using, but I haven't done a sketch or worked out what I need and my stuff is all over the place again

Right that my moan for today, I'll take my miserable self away and find my happy self again.

Hello.... I have just spent ages catching up on all that's happened - see just goes to show I should log on more often so I don't have such a big catch up!

Denita - FAB news on the weight loss front. Well done you. And your before and after scrap area photos have inspired me to have a really, really good go at my scrap room/office... I think I'm too scared to post before photos...

Sandie - Well done on getting through to the next round of Bad Girls (you are obviously a really bad girl ).

Steph - I'm right there with you on the MySims for the Wii - wasted 2 hours this morning when I should have been doing the many things on my to-do list...

Mary (Scary) - Great LOs and they would be great classes if they were taught by Kirsty (she's just got married so I can't remember her married name , call myself a friend?). She is so talented.

Corinna - See you there tonight. Save me a seat if you get there first :)

No idea what I'm going to be doing tonight so I'll just have to rustle something up later!

Sandie V
24-09-2007, 04:04 PM

Good Afternoon Everyone!
It sounds like a fab time last night! I wish I could have been there, the PTA meeting was good..it made feel useful and that is always nice!
Bath was good today, the sun stayed out for most of the trip although it was COLD! We did a bus tour and had lunch at Sally Lunn's and then had very very little time to grab some souvenirs, I am definitely going to have to go back soon and do some serious sight seeing...I didn't even get to go to the Jane Austen Center!
I did meet Rakel's husband today! It was so funny, i pulled into the post office and this little girl was coming out and she looked so familiar, I was certain I knew her..so when I got out of the car I started into the post office and noticed her dad and I guess I was staring because he asked if I recognized the car...I told him know it was him..then I realized who he was and said "I know your face from all your wifes beautiful pages! He asked my name and knew who I was right away! It was really nice...and Elena is a doll!
So anyways it was a fab day all the way around...and now I am going to relax and watch tv and maybe take a hot bath and just do alot of nothing all night!

Hope everyone else had a fab day too!

My tasks for today are to find something to wear for my interview on Friday (what DO I wear?) and to tidy/re-organise my scrap room, get rid of stash I know I won't use (and I HAVE to realistic here, no holding on 'just in case' for example I know I have some Karen Foster metallic halloween charms and as I don't 'do' halloween I know I'm never going to use them, but they are just so cute!).

Afternoon ladies

Alli - YOU ARE MAD

I've just got back from my interview.....what a JOKE!! I feel totally insulted. They kept me waiting 20 minutes first of all. Then after the usual "tell me about yourself" Then I was told it was only a temporary job, not a permanent then I was given what I can only call a "stupid" test. With a list of questions that basically tested whether you could add up, read and write  Then there were pictures, and you had to say, which picture only had 25 in a pack, which items were hobbycraft items etc etc.

I have to say I felt a little over qualified, and also they expect you to work boxing day. So if they offer it to me, I shall be saying NO!

It obviously wasn't meant to be Mary. Fortunately I don't "need" a job, so its not the end of the world, but I was fairly appalled at their interview procedures!

Blimey Sandie that sounds awful - lets hope Jools interview on Friday is a bit more like it!

Well exams are over - passed the practical (no idea whether I did well or just scraped through, but who cares) so now just have to wait 6 weeks to find out whether my multiple guesses were right and whether my huge pile of paperwork for my case studies really was ok or not!

Off to slimming in a bit so will see whether my large cup of hot chocolate & biscuit treat to myself this afternoon was a good idea or not! Just have to go and cook dinner for DH now as he is off to football later - what is it with men that they just can't get it into their heads that they really are too old and unfit to keep playing??

Corinna, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! And you've got plenty of time for scrappin'!!! :D

Well I'll be heading to Gatwick in few hours and really need to go and try to get some sleep. I had to go to Uni today and I'm lost for words!!! There's so much stuff we need to do before the 10th of Oct.. so I guess I'll be taking my school books with me on my holiday, but never mind, it'll all be worth it in the end! ;)

Sandie.....what a shame about your interview. Mind you a lot of place do 'stupid' interviews. I remember when Megan had to go for an interview for a Saturday job (aged 16) at Boots. It took 2hours and included 'role play'....for God sake just to fill shelves?!?!?

The feeling bad is very weird. Thought I was coming down with awful cold, but having got up this morning feeling totally different (not better just different) I took some hayfever tablets, and now I feel better.
Seems I am allergic to something in the house, but we have lived here since April so what I can be I don't know.
The only thing that has changed is decorating our bedroom - can you be allergic to paint???

Hope you are all having a good day - its quiet on here which is very unlike you lot - normally I have pages to catch up on!

Have a good weekend everyone

AlliR
28-09-2007, 10:10 PM
It was on the previous Sept thread, here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showpost.php?p=3888148&postcount=434) is a link to it. There's instructions/examples in English on the right hand side (need to scroll down a bit). It's basically just a 5 page mini book with pockets and envelopes etc. Trudy did one before going on hols, took her about 45 minutes I think she said (most of that was probably choosing paper!).

That reminds me, Steph can you PM the address they need to be sent to?

scarymary555
28-09-2007, 10:23 PM
There seems to be several different types of mini-books.....is that right Alli? Which one are you doing?

AlliR
28-09-2007, 10:30 PM
I was just going to make a slim version of a CJ type book. 6x6 board covers, 5 cardstock pages with pockets made from pp. Bound together with 2 book rings. So was thinking along the same lines as Book 4, which I think I might try. And the matchbook one just cos I'd like to see what it looks like IRL.

scarymary555
28-09-2007, 10:41 PM

JoolsG
29-09-2007, 11:38 AM
Oh no Jools, why not?

Apparently if they had had 2 office assistant jobs I would have been appointed, my interview was good and I know that I am more than qualified. But he said that the other candidate just had a little more experience! Oh, and then he made a joke about that it's a bit like the chicken and the egg, how do you get the experience if you don't get the job, but sorry, that it was a close call.

To be honest, I'm feeling really low about it, just kept bursting in to tears last night. I really wanted that job. And to be pipped at the post by just a 'bit more experience' is really depressing. I'm a really quick learner and would have been up to speed in not time. And it's not like I've never had an admin job, my last job was as the church administrator!

Sandie V
29-09-2007, 12:15 PM
Oh Jools I am sorry, that is so unfair. Try not to feel to bad about it, its their loss ;)

No Mary I didn't fancy the job, they seemed to expect idiots to walk in the door and do the job, and they just made me feel like I was so much better than that. Your layout is great BTW have been and left a comment.

AlliR

I'm really sorry to hear about the job too Jools, but I am a big believer in fate and the right job is just waiting for you....

Mary, Daniel is such a sweetie!

Sandie, glad you had a good time at Denita's.

t'other Mary, sorry you're not feeling too pecker - hope you feel better soon. Love your club LO.

I've done 3 mini books so far..... ummm, I got a bit addicted to using up scraps! Forgot to cut the holes as per the instructions on the blog, so I made pockets and tags for mine. Might knock another 'girlie' one up as I can do them in about 15-20 minutes now! Will have a go at the matchbook one too during the week I think.
