Karen, the show was manic. If you go to my blog i have put up pics on the Magnolia stand. It was a fight to get to the front believe me. I didn't know women could be so mean!!! But I got in there and managed to get 36 stamps, not all mine I hasten to add. lol.

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments about my hanger. You can see it bigger on my blog.

Another posted on my blog here (http://patsy-j.blogspot.com/2007/09/christmas-tilda.html)- not sure it works as I've tried to do it as an Xmas card but I don't have any of the Xmas stamps. Also I'm away right now and don't have any bright Xmas pps - I think it would look better with bright ones :)

GeordieGirl
18-09-2007, 07:39 PM
Hello, your cards are all gorgeous :)

Answers to some of your questions:

I use Derwent water colour pencils to colour my images
Papermill white card - I look for the brightest white, be careful as sometimes you think it's white until you put it beside a true white.
To cut a long story short - I haven't had access to all my stash and my craft room since April so I discovered digital papers - means I can make cards in the middle of the night when everyone - including the lodger - are fast asleep :)

Kittypuss
18-09-2007, 07:40 PM
Is that a British Blue I spy as your Avatar Hopejack? I have 4 British Shorthairs and used to breed them. He is beautiful, I am presuming 'he' because of the magnificent face shape 'he' has? Forgive me if I am wrong

My lil girl (nearly 2) helped me with the ribbons on the handles!

The tin looks fab, I can't wait til I have enough Tildas and Edwins to fill a tin, I only have three so they would rattle around a bit atm.

My stamps arrived this morning, and this (http://chatterboxchicks.blogspot.com/) is my first creation with them.

Thanks Margaret - just had a peek at your new ones - I love all your cards!

Linda hun - you need to copy the IMG link, then click on the image icon on your post and paste in there. One watch out is to remove the http:// that's already in the box when you click on it otherwise you'll end up with two (as the code has one too!). Hope that makes sense??

Kittypuss - yes he's a BB - he's 6 now! He's a v big boy (neutered). His Dad and his Grandad were Grandchamps so I guess he gets it from them! We've never shown him tho. The lady who runs the cattery we take him to used to be a breeder and she always fusses over him and says how fantastic he is and how we should have showed him - he has v orange eyes - there is a LO of him in my UKS gallery if you are interested - not such a good pic tho :) We nearly bought a Silver spotted too ages ago but it fell through - no more now though as we have a DD now.... Before that he was my baby! What colours are yours?

I have just made this. I'm not too sure what it will be used for yet but I'm not happy with it. I don't like the white areas. I'm loathe to colour it in as it took me a while to do it (lots of masking) and I don't want to spoil it. Has anybody got any tips or ideas please?

how do you colour them all so perfect, do you all use pencils?

Some use watercolour pencils and a brush with water.

Others paint with Distress Ink from the refill bottles - TONS of colour in one of these as you only use less that 1 drop and can mix all the shades you wish for depending on the amount of water.

I got some Prisma and use the Sansodor spirit...
You use the spirit to mix the colours. So far...not really impressed...
must try again... I'm not the "giving up" type... especially on spending money on the Prisma...
Another DT member explained how she did it ....let me find the link....

I prefer using Distress inks... I just press my ink pads on my craft sheet and use that as a palette for watercolouring... works perfect...
All the coloring on my cards is done this way

the type of card you use will make a big difference too for the watercolouring...

HTH :-)

You dont need spirits and blending stumps, you can get the same effect using just water and watercolour pencils. I use the aquakure paint bush, and ordinary papermil cardstock, run the clean paintbrush over the part of the image you are about to paint so that the paint 'runs' In watercolour terms this is wet on wet, then use your brush to pick up colour from the pencil, just rub the wet brush all over the nib of the pencil until you have enough colour on it. Then paint the colour on from the edges inwards. That way you get loats of colour on the edge and not so much in the middle. If there is too much colour anywhere just wipe your brush clean (I use a wetwipe but you could dip in clean water) and use the clean wet brush to lift paint off the paper.

There are a few I've done that way (ignore the one using gauche paint) on my blog)

With the number of M-stamps you soon own - I would call a shipping company and ask them if you could buy a second-hand container and then alter that :P:lol: Not sure how many sheets of paper that would take though

Good grief I think there must be something in the stamps that makes them addictive - even DS (aged 10) had to make a card for his sister today  - its on my blog if anyone would like to see it.

LOL @ Kitty - I "only" have 6 on pre-order from Karen and 4 from Bryony :D

That is so cute, that is one of the ones I have pre-ordered. I bought two and they arrived Friday, then had to go buy some watercolour pencils, half price in Smiths, so £7.49 for 36 instead of £14.99, and they colour beautifully... And now I am hooked.
