September Week 2 challenge by the Lavender Lovelies

Hi everyone

Welcome to Septembers week two challenge set by our team , the Lavender Lovelies. We do hope that you will enjoy doing our challenge , if you could leave a link here , or let us know youve posted in your gallery then we will be sure not to miss your layout , although we will be checking the weekly challenge gallery too !

The challenge is as follows :

Whilst Elias Howe did not invent the sewing machine he refined others' ideas into a functional machine. On September 10th, 1846, he was awarded the first United States patent for a sewing machine using a lock stitch design , therefore we would like you to use stitching on your layout , this can be real, stamped, doodled or rub on stitching.

On September 11th 1972 - Mastermind , the quiz programme, was first aired on BBC television - therefore we would like you to include a question or question mark on your LO, this can be part of the title or within your journalling.

To remember the tragic events in America on September 11th 2001 including the attacks on the World Trade Centre, please use stars AND stripes on your LO, they can be any colour .

As we are 'Lavender' Lovelies and our team members share a mutual love of homemade 'lemon' drizzle cake please use the colours lavender (or purple) and lemon (or yellow) on your LO . You are not restricted to using just these colours but to claim the bonus points you must include these somewhere.

Points are split as follows :

Stitching (real, doodled, stamped or rub on) - 10 points
Question element - either a question for the title or a question in the journalling or use of a question mark - 10 points
Include stars and stripes in your LO (any colour) - 5 points

Thanks re the LO's girls ! Good luck with all your LO's , Jo the colours stumped me too, I wouldnt normally have used the lemon base, but even if its just a tiny brad in each colour thats fine , am sure you'll work something out! Oh goodness about the job Jo.... hope something else comes along in the meantime... x

the photo i used has purple and yellow in...:D plus i added a tiny amount of yellow thread on the buttons... and coloured one of the letters purple... :lol:

Well done for setting a fabby challenge, i really enjhoyed doing it. I used a black and white photo and black and white stars and stripes to assist with the colour scheme.

Its the first time i've doodled stitches and I loved it!!
