best glue

My son is making an altered book as part of his GCSE art and wants to stick several pages together and then cut out a hole to mount some chunky stuff in and so I would love to know What is the best glue to use for sticking the pages together?

Ive used Gel Medium when doing mine.

Also just a note to save unnecessary timewasting & glue - does he know you dont have to glue all the pages down. The technique is to clasp the pages together with bulldog clips or similar then just spread glue around the outside. Sounds odd I know as youd expect the pages to come apart again when you remove the clips but have faith it works. You can then cut out your niche and dab more glue around the inside edges. Its easier than it looks.

I found mod podge amazing it didn't bubble at all and is really strong
