The faint of heart should look away now!

For in exactly 4 months time we will be celebrating Christmas Eve! Can you believe it?? Time certainly flies for our intrepid cardmakers!!

And yep, you know what that means, we definitely need to start making a list, checking it twice... and getting those cards made.

To help you boost the Christmas creative spirit, the Card Forum is hosting a new Christmas card challenge for your new seasonal creations. :D

And to add to the fun, Scrapbook Central (http://www.scrapbookcentral.co.uk/shopping/default.asp) is going to help one lucky participant stock up on their seasonal stash.

The random winner will receive a selection of Daisy D's Mistletoe Memories (http://www.scrapbookcentral.co.uk/shopping/product.asp?cookiecheck=yes&numRecordPosition=5&P_ID=596&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=95) papers and a selection of the same themed embellishments.

The deadline for entry into the prize draw is midnight on Monday 24th September - just post a brand new Christmas card hot off the Polar Express in this thread for your chance win!

Great cards everyone.
I'm loving doing clear acetate cards at the mo, but they are a nightmare to photograph, but here is my latest one for Christmas. I've stamped on the front and embossed the back of the card (which isn't too clear on the photo), then i've stuck the backing paper behind that.

28-08-2007, 01:56 PM
Hi Dawn - thanks hun  yes it's a punch - just a Dovecraft 2.5" (I think!) one. I sometimes cut my scallops on my Cricut too - Mini Monos has scalloped squares & circles.

Oh lovely card Tracy - love acetate too. I bought some last week but haven't used it yet - think I'm going to have a go at embossing!

What cheerful and beautiful cards! Here is one that I made. It's backed with mulberry paper to give it a glow. The stamp at the bottom is embossed with glitter red embossing powder and says, "Wishing you joy". I did the lines on the holly leaves with a stylus and then I inked with gold, folded up a bit on the lines to give the leaves dimension like on real holly leaves.

Thanks CountryRose. I have not been card making for very long and feel like I really struggle to put colours together and get the layout right. But I used a PageMap sketch from the August challenge and I found this really helped. I have made another non xmas card for the same challenge. I have not even really thought about Christmas - it is afterall only September and I am the Queen of leaveing it too late. So inspired by you all and reminded of my new years resolution not to always leave things to the last concievable moment, I have today made a Christmas Planner. Lots of fun and planning the plan always avoids the doing! Actually I am really pleased with the results so maybe I will actually plan and get myself organised.

Here are 5 cards I made yesterday - sorry for the poor photos. All cards are embossed using the cuttlebug snowflake. The snowman has flowersoft and glitter and the xmas pud has stickles and glitter for the icing. All images are stamped and decoupaged apart from the xmas pud.

They are lovely Andrea, love the snowflake effect.

For the scalloped edges the cricut cuts a card with a scalloped edge all you do is turn the dial to the size you want & it puts a fold in it too.

It also cuts an envelope to fit as well.

Hi Monica

It's an Anitas stamp which I got off that well known auction site.

I'm very new to stamping and thought I would buy a few off there to see how I got on before I splashed out on new stamps. And guess what? After a couple of months I now have two - yes two - boxes full of the things. They're addictive !

Thanks for your nice comments.

Hello everyone

I'm just back from holiday and even more lovely cards have appeared. I'm going to be paying homage to many of you - in other words I'm "pinching" some ideas !!

I have been in Florida for a week and needless to say I have stocked up on everything. Even had to buy a holdall to get everything back! I think I cleared out the Jo-Ann shop and then attacked the Michaels craft shop. But you know who put the stoppers on. No more rubbish he said !! Will the man never learn?

Glad to be back amongst you.

A couple more inspired by last nights efforts. Fisrt one is on pearl effect card as too is the second. they are only little cards. The second has threads stuck onto acetate with tiny stars just placed on and they stick to the threads. This has been put in a ATC sleeve so it is actually see through.
