Thanks for the challenge, here is my digi version.
VE Day Street Party (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=132708&cat=503)
Although it is digi there is hidden journaling and I can pull the tag out to read it on the programme I use. (if I print the page out will put a slit in there so can still have the hidden journalling)

Mary Buttons
14-08-2007, 04:40 PM
BTW I use Serif Page Plus a desk top publisher programme, not sure that you could do hidden journaling on a photo manipulation prog. this one works in quite a different way to those and you can work in layers but it is not necessary to do so. I don't think that in PSP I could do this.

Hi Julie - in answer to your question - it's a royal doulton figure - that's where my dad worked - not a toblerone as DH2b suggested!!

Thanks, I just wondered as it was such an unusual shape! How long ago was it, did it survive or get broken?

Thanks for a great challenge ladies. My entry is here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=132726&cat=2). Only 25 points claimed as it's a digi page so no hidden journalling.

Thanks, I just wondered as it was such an unusual shape! How long ago was it, did it survive or get broken?

It's survived thankfully and now worth a lot of money - my brother inherited it when my father passed away - I can't stand it personally - much prefer toblerone!!! It's called The Moor (sp)

ETA: It was sometime in the 80s although not sure when exactly unfortunately

TracieDoodle
14-08-2007, 06:19 PM
Just googled it out of interest and although you can get a miniature version for around £395 this particular size is worth £1,914.98 (must remember to be nicer to my big brother!!)

Absolutely - I'd had those photos sitting around for ages and never knew what to do with them (think the size put me off) but with the challenge of using metal I suddenly remembered the hinges I had and it started me thinking about how I could use more than one on a LO this way without filling an album with lots of similar stuff - so really appreciate this challenge - thank you ladies!

The problem I had was choosing which pic to use! My great grandfather was one of the first photographers and we have a huge collection of pics from mid 1800's onwards. In the end I used one he took rather than one of a family member.

Yup I agree Jan...to me that is what these challenges are about, to get us thinking and doing things we dont do everyday.

I am so moved by the effort people have put in and the memories people have shared with us. Thanks to everyone

oh and there is one more day left so lets see what tomorrow brings:-))

I only joined last week, so this is my first challenge!
I'm actually collecting pics of my Nan to scrapbook...this one isn't stuck down yet as it was in a frame & it's the only one I have so need to get it copied

my favourite photo of me and my Nan, taken in 1969
have used the turuoise, white, yellow, black & red...had to use yellow as it was Nan's favourite colour!
the metal is the heart in the middle of the flower
on the red square behind the photo it says
'My Nana, my friend, my teacher, I miss you so much x'

Anyone can do the challenge, I used to before I joined a team, but the points are only for the team score, but it is still good to try to complete all the elements of the challenge.
No reason why you shouldn't put them in your signature as far as I can see.

Once you start doing your wedding photos you will want to do a whole album, I know I started to do one at a crop about 3 months ago (I was married in 1965) and have now done 8 pages keeping them all to a colour theme (unfortunately I have had to take them out of my gallery as I am forever running out of space)

Wow.. you are on a roll eh? Course you can do more LO's using the inspiration of the challenge. The only thing is if you are on a team and collecting points, you can only collect the extra challenge points for one of the LO, and then just points for the other LO, so, you would get 30pts for challenge and 10 pts for SLO, then another 10pts for another single LO........ does that make sense?!?!!
