Yes, you read that right! not 1, not 2, but 3 fabulous sponsors are donating a prize for this months House Challenge.
A Trip Down Memory Lane (atripdownmemorylane.co.uk) is run by Jill and Mel (mother and daughter) who both started scrapping in 2004 and were quickly addicted to stash buying and occasionally even using it! They opened ATDML in April 2005 with around 100 products from 3 manufacturers and now has in excess of 2500 products for over 90 manufacturers, and offer a particularly extensive range of 7 Gypsies products. They are an online business and we are just venturing into the world of retreats with our first even planned for November this year!
A Trip Down Memory Lane (http://www.atripdownmemorylane.co.uk) are based in Boxford in Suffolk. Boxford is a small, quiet village, it’s only claim to fame is it is the home of Coppella Apple juice! Boxford is close to the market town of Sudbury made famous by the paintings of the towns most illustrious former resident Thomas Gainsborough. The county of Suffolk is very picturesque and is also the subject of many paintings by another famous artist John constable. Their location is close to the border with Essex and the historic town of Colchester, Britains oldest recorded town.
Papermaze (www.papermaze.co.uk) is owned and run by Vanessa with the help of Karen and Lesley. Vanessa has always been interested in crafts and was cardmaking for many years before discovering scrapbooking. She trained as a teacher at Durham, and taught for 5 years before the first of her 3 children were born.
Papermaze (http://www.papermaze.co.uk) began nearly 4 years ago when Vanessa was looking for something she could do at home while the children were young, and has grown into a full-time business. There are currently nearly 7000 products stocked, with an emphasis on patterned papers - they have around 2500 individual designs!
Papermaze (http://www.papermaze.co.uk) is set in the heart of rural Suffolk, in the village of Otley about 8 miles north of Ipswich. It is very much in the middle of farming country - East Anglia is known as the bread basket of England because it is the largest cereal growing region in the UK. Vanessa lives on a working farm (has even been known to drive the combine!) that grows wheat, barley and grass for hay and rears day old chicks to point of lay. Earlier this year they opened their shop, which is situated in one of the old farm buildings. They are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30am and 3pm, and you can always be guaranteed a warm welcome!
And welcome from Helen who owns and runs Craftables (http://www.craftables.co.uk), an online shop with lots of fabulous cardmaking and scrapbooking goodies! Craftables (http://www.craftables.co.uk) has been running for just over a year now and although it is hard work, Helen is enjoying finding new and exciting products for you to craft with.
Helen is an avid crafter and her passion for making things started nearly 10 years ago with cross stitch and then card making. She loves making cards and was introduced to scrapbooking and UKS about 2 years ago. Since then she have become a bit of a mini book fiend and loves finding new things to make and do with all the different craft materials that are now available on the market.
Helen lives with her husband in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Bury is a lovely market town with lots of features and things to do. There are the Abbey Garden ruins to explore or the Moyes Hall Museum. There are lots of pubs and places to eat. Bury now has a multi screen cinema and there is work being done to create a new shopping area. Nearby are Nowton Park and Ickworth House. Bury has some quirky shops that you won’t find any where else as well as the local market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. As well as the shops that Bury has to offer, we are within easy reach of Cambridge and Ipswich. Suffolk is a sprawling county with lots of beautiful countryside and places of interest around to visit. If you are down this way then Bury St Edmunds is worth a visit.
