** August Card Challenge **

Well card addicts, it's almost that time again.

A new month, a new challenge.

And this time the theme is polka party!

Your challenge is to create a card using polka dots - in any way!

Patterned paper, ribbon, stamping, doodling, punched out circles - whatever, as long as there are polka dots somewhere on your card! :D

If at the end of August there have been 10 or more cards posted here in this thread, then one lucky person will be chosen as a 'winner' and will receive a little goodie through the post courtesy of Julie at Scrapbooking Castle (http://scrapbookingcastle.co.uk/store/).

Thank agains to Julie for her support of the UKS monthly card challenge!! :D


I've made up a couple of examples from my stash (had no idea that I had so many dotty things until I was browsing the stash piles) to get us going...

here is a card i made today...:D i used two pages from a maya road chipboard book (the sort that have a little chain...) in the latest dt kit i got...:D was really pleased with how it turned out...:D thought it was quite a good way to use up the excess when you dont want to make a full 10 page minibook...:D

Redhead, when you reply to the post if you scroll down a little you'll see a "manage attachments" button. Click that and you can add the image straight from your hard drive :)

Ok I dont often do polka dots but I've managed it! Paper is PM, as it the round tag and brad. The outline sticker is coloured in using sakura stardust pens and water colour brush. TFL

Here's a wedding card i made last night for a Disney fan, i'm not sure this really fits into the criteria of this challenge, as i've only used polka dot organza ribbon, but i thought i'd share it with you anyway.
Do you think i should put a greeting on the front? if so how? and where?, sorry for so many questions:rolleyes:

Well, these challenges certainly get the inspiration flowing. I do not have much with polka dots but managed to find a few papers and ribbons. This handbag card is the first shaped card I have made with my Craft Robo. And yes, it does have some polka dots - you just have to look closely !

Erm, not sure how to help Bird - not that technical myself really. One thing I was doing wrong, was when I was adding my code into the box (from my blog), I was forgetting to take off the http:// - as if you've copied it from your blog it should be on the beginning anyway and I was ending up with two https which didn't help????

Alex, the only time that's ever happened to me is when I've had to upload the photos into blogger using my imagehosting rather then direct from my hard drive. Do you load your photos into blogger straight from your PC? If so I haven't got a clue why it's happening!! :lol:

Last night was the first time I really ventured off the robo section to see what was on the rest of the site, was naturally drawn to cardmaking and found this challenge. Totally intimidated by the number of DT members (after I'd worked out what DT meant :lol:) and the stash some of you must have but here's my simple offerings anyhow. Robo cut the circles and I used assorted pieces of different shades and textures behind. Great for using up offcuts!
Looking forward to seeing what Sept will bring.

Thank you. Have to admit that I think purple one is better in real life - Flash hasn't done it any favours - but I was chuffed to see uploading the photos worked. That was a first so wasn't sure what would arrive on-screen!
