Hi all

Here is my very first go at making my own template. It is a 'fancy edge' photo frame which fits neatly over a 6" x 4" photo - but can easily be scaled up or down as required.

Hope it's useful to some of you.

Here is my first attempt at creating my own template (and attempting to add it to this forum!) - hope you find it useful !

Thanks to Susibi's thread....'drawing things in Inkscape', gave it a go and came up with what are hopefully some useful shapes. They're not perfect....the scallops are not quite as even as they should be! Thought they might be of use.

This is fun. I just can't stop. Hope this frame is useful for someone.
I'm working on a heart frame. I'll post it later.

On request I have done some scalloped frames. I'll post the heart frame tomorrow.:D

Now the heart frame is ready. Actually it became two different designs.
Hope you like them.

Here is one that I made with the newest version of Inkscape.45
using the pattern on path, with a small arc and heart shape. It is a really cool feature, and this cuts like butter!

This time I have made two frames with scalloped hearts.
I keep on with my scalloped designs. Hope you don't get tired of them.:D

Here comes a bunch off simple frames in different sizes. I think they will look great cut in gold or silverpaper. I'm going to use some of them on some cards I have to make. Hope you like them.

Hmm.. I don't know how to stop. I allways find other shapes to do
Later I'm going to make hexagons and octogonal shapes.
Tell me if there is any other shape I can try to make (in case I run out of ideas).

Here are the hexagons and the octagons I promised. Hope you like them too.
I don't do a testcut on every design I make so I hope there are no problem when cutting them. Let me know in that case.

I think this will be the last ones of the slim frame designs. I just can't come up with any more ideas, but I think you however have enough of them :D

Here is a quick one of three sorts of scalloped circles - the rounded one is more flower-like, with deeper scallops than some, the pointy one is more like pinking shears, and the last is a hybrid - pointy scallops!

All three in one GSD, and the inner circles can be deleted if you only want a solid circle rather than a frame.

Tried and Tested!

Pointy and Pinking from a frame in FramesandBordersII font (House of Lime (http://www.houseoflime.com/dings/framesandborders2.htm))but autotraced so you don't need to have it installed

Scallop is own design.

As ever I now have to pop over to another machine to zip and upload!

I made these for the transparency card that I designed just recently.

I have not used these in a project yet, but they cut just fine. Hope someone can use them!

I'm been playing and came up with this. You know I love frames:rolleyes:

Use them separatly or combine them. Choose how you want to cut them by deleting some of them if you want. I don't know how many different frames you can do by deleting and combining parts in the template but there are several.
They always fits in eachother irrespective of how you turn them around.

Hi these are the first templates that I have posted. I know they are very simple, but I hope they are useful to someone.

Now I know how to make scalloped frames I thought I would make this one.
Thanks for the tutorial and to Stressed for sorting the download.

Thought I would share these. They would look good as single mats for decoupage or layered up as per my example. I designed and cut my sample from DM but have also converted to a GSD. Very easy to resize to suit your needs.

I came up with this scalloped frame whilst mucking about in DM. It cut well in metallic gold 120gsm paper. Hope you like it - haven't converted it to GSD yet.

GSD file now added (with grateful thanks to Lindyloulou for her tips on converting gra files) Not sure about the little circles round the edge - they may need a bit of adjustment.

Here is another scalloped oval in DM. I've cut it in 120 gsm metallic paper. On the card shown below I have cut it and then resized it and cut again then layered them onto a metallic backing with a simple ribbon slide in the centre. I embossed the white mat with the Cuttlebug textile embossing folder. I haven't converted the file to a GSD yet.
Sorry about the poor photo quality.

I've now added the GSD file for this and am very grateful to Lindyloulou for her tips on converting GRA files.

This is not the best template in the world and would love it if someone could send me a better one but this is my first attempt at making one and it cut quite nice.

Created in inkscape, used as a frame for a layout title but I guess it would look nice on a card too.

Thanks for the tutorial by Lucille (frames using dingbats and shapes) VERY helpful and VERY clear (had to be, I got it to work!)

Here is another one I have seen, will have to get a bigger cutter :lol:

Designed to be cut as 11" x 11" for a LO.

Bigger scallops this time.

Hope this is of use to someone. It can be matted and layered by cutting out the separate colours. I just noticed Lucille had uploaded a scolloped shape. Sorry for being a copy cat!
